Great value for money and super easy to put together. Worked perfectly for us - we couldn't find an outside drain cover but within seconds of using this metal detector we found it (buried and covered in grass which is why we couldn't find it, even though we dug up several patches before we got the detector). Recently found an outside metal water cover in a similar situation for our neighbour so will be keeping this as very handy and it works!

The metal detector was a present for my 11 year old son. He's only had it a few days but has loves using it. It was easy to assemble and works well. The only issue we had was that the headphones were broken when we go them out. One earphone rattles and does not work. Because this was a birthday present and I bought it more than a month before my son's birthday, it was too late to return it for a replacement. It's frustrating that I can't get the headphones replaced although i'll look into this further. Other than that it seems a great product so far.

I had a great couple of sessions with this 1st on great yarmouth beach, now the discrimation was a learning curve, like how you're get constant noise to get those green signals for non ferrous metals, however, I found loads of stuff, couple of modern coins 1983 2p, very heavy rust so not sure when dropped, lead and iron fishing weights, and lots of old iron scraps from previous pier structures. So far so good.I tested it on river bank moorings and found screws and nails and boat hooks.I went into the countryside and found a massive rusted tool and some princes tin cans that some walkers buried, I think 90s.When tested against my own gold and silver it seems to be in the market.Depth seems better than I thought I would, I'd say I was getting up to 10cm on beach and maybe 5/6 on damp soil. So again performing better than I thought it would.Unfortunately they detector end of the coil cord came away, and exposed wire and solder. Made it impossible to use.My advice, at this price point and I don't think that upgrading the coil would be appropriate, glue the plug into the detector box.It'd a real shame, as I was scared that it was a toy, well for me it's been a really good toy, I would have hoped it would last more than 2 trips out, I got to Whitby yesterday and was mega disappointed when I couldn't do any detecting.So, in conclusion. Not the worst despite other poor reviews, practice with it and if nothing you will find iron, leaf, etc, and probably gold etc if its close to surface.Has helped me decide if I want to keep at the hobby and I think that's what a lot of people are looking for at this price point.

Really great product, my Son found many coins (the first 4 I had planted on Xmas day)But then he found some old £1 coins and a few 20p’s. Easy to use, takes a bit of time to get the hang of working out a strong signal as opposed to a weak fake signal.We also found many cans, tent pegs and other non desirables. Fantastic product that we will continue using.

So my 11 yr old waited patiently for this to arrive and was so excited to open the box, first we noticed we had to go the shop for a battery, then we set it up all good , lightweight etc. Then we turned it on and experienced a continual high pitched tone, after reading the instructions on how to change the settings we tried again , same thing happened, so we chuck some coins on the floor and low and behold it just screeched the same tone and could not differentiate a wooden floor from a coin good point was it was packaged and returned within the hour and full refund was issued almost immediately

I have recently taken up the hobby of metal detecting. I wanted to find the best budget detector as I can't afford the more expensive ones. Upon looking on Amazon I discovered the Mylek pro, I have used it for around 3 weeks now on the beach and on land. I can honestly say it is the perfect detector for beginners, easy to use and set up.
