Very good product….

Bought to replace my 30 year old wired electric plane. Works great. Purchased the optional collector bag as using it indoors. Have done 8 doors so far and can say it is easy to use. Depth of cut easy to change and appears to be accurate. Reasonably light but 5a/h battery using with makes it heavier but lasts ages. Would probably be better with smaller battery and change more often. No cable makes much easier to use. Love it so far.

Good product

This cordless planer has come in very handy whilst doing a house renovation & extension. I had a corded 230v planer before this & I couldn’t get on with it as it was super loud, aggressive and just not nice to use. This Makita cordless one is much more user friendly, motor is nice & quiet, has had enough power to plane down multiple material types including oak doors, CLS timber, 18mm ply etc. My tip would be to practice on scraps first… I only ever seem to use it on its lowest setting and take multiple passes at reducing the thickness. The planer is light to hold, easy to adjust & I found it worked well with a Henry Vacuum attached to it with a bit of gaffa tape on the suction / dust extractor port, made the job a lot cleaner! I have taken 1 star off as it could do with a 45 or 90 degree adapter on the suction / dust extractor port to put the hose at a better angle when using.

A great product - however, if Amazon or the seller see this review, it was delivered to the wrong address and I didn’t get it until a week later!

All of my power tools are Makita LXT; purchased this planer on a really good sale in case I ever needed it in the future. Turns out I have had several uses for the tool and I am very satisfied with this. The construction is VERY sturdy; the tool is quite heavy and solidly built. Like all my Makita LXT, this tool confirms this is the right product for a "Prosumer" DIY enthusiast like me. I would assume this device will be quite well suited for a professional builder too. What I like - Strong, sturdy construction - Part of a line of tools that use the same battery - VERY powerful, never had any problems even with deep cuts - Can make precise adjustments to cutting depth What I dislike - The place where shavings are ejected is an oval shape; you cant connect a vacuum to extract the dust/shavings - The little V that runs along the bottom (for planing corners) is not very deep. It is quite easy to slip off a 45º angle

Es bueno considerando que tiene escobillas, hay opciones brushless pero cuestan el doble de precio. Ya lo he utilizado y me satisface su potencia y ergonomía. Lo único criticable es que viene en una caja de cartón, y en mi caso, muy maltratada. No soy carpintero, lo utilizo para proyectos pequeños como hobie en muebles para mi casa.
