Quality and price is what I was hoping for and received.
Solid performance, boils fast and is reasonably quiet. Looks stylish in my kitchen too.

Nice
I recently purchased the Russell Hobbs steel electric kettle and I am absolutely thrilled with it! From the moment I unboxed it, the sleek stainless steel design & good size added a touch of elegance to my kitchen. It feels sturdy and well-made, and the modern finish is both stylish and easy to keep clean. Performance-wise, it is outstanding. The kettle boils water remarkably quickly and quietly, which is perfect for my busy mornings. The handle is comfortable and well balanced, making it easy to pour without any spills. I also appreciate the clear water level indicator and the automatic shut-off feature, which provides peace of mind. Overall, this is a top-quality kettle that delivers exactly what it promises. I would highly recommend the Russell Hobbs steel electric kettle to anyone looking for a reliable, efficient, and attractive addition to their kitchen. Five stars

Having had an opportunity to compare, this is a much quieter kettle!
We wanted a non plastic kettle, which this is, but thye filter is plastic and gets clogged quite quickly and you hav to be careful cleaning it to not tear the mesh. There is also a measure 'step' inside the kettle, made of plastic but I this can be prised out (it's clipped on). Our kettle was going great guns until a few days ago (a Tues) and then the light didn't light up and it took 3 minutes to boil 2 cups of water, very loudly, whilst cycling the heat on and off. It was 15 mo old and I hadn't registered it. However Russell Hobbs responded within an hour to my email query, asked for particulars , photos and a video of the kettle (if safe) and the next morning arranged for a replacement to be sent. This arrived 3-4 days later. We didn't realise quite how quiet this kettle is compared to kettles with a flat element inside - the cheaper model of this sounds like a jet engine taking off, by comparison. It pours well, fairly quiet, large capacity, quick to boil a cup of water. It does however get a little corroded around the lid hole if you don't keep it dry after use.

Fast boil and quiet as advertised
Nice kettle unfortunately the delivery guy left it at the wrong address. The photo he sent as confirmation was not my house. Fortunately I recognised the front door of the house in the photo he sent and had to pick it up myself. Not very happy as my house quite clearly has the number outside on the wall next to the door !!!

Quieter, Quick, Stylish. Good Value
Have to say Im very pleased with my new Russel Hobbs brushed satin stai less steel kettle . I can confirm this model is definitely much quieter & faster when boiling, the button to open lid works well, the blue light only operates when boiling (it nearly put me off buying the kettle) I'm hoping the water gauge doesn't start to leak... Time will tell It's very good value for the money I think.

Quick boil but noisier than previous ones
Have had 2 of these before. Last about 3 years and then start to leak. Like them though because they are usually fast boil and quiet. For some reason this one does not seem to be as good quality as the others. The sticker left a mark that cannot remove, the filter keeps popping out and very fiddly to replace and it seems noisier than previous ones, though still rapid boil. Overall it’s a good kettle for the price, but am disappointed that the quality has diminished.

It is definitely a lot quieter than the Worcester kettle
Love the kettle. I purchased it to replace a Russell Hobbs Worcester, brushed stainless steel cordless kettle, which was very noisy. And I am pleased to say that this Buckingham kettle IS quite quiet :-) I did purchase this Buckingham kettle as 'Used - very good' and when it came, I noticed it had two, small cosmetic faults on the surface of the stainless steel exterior. So I believe that the previous buyer did not use it at all but returned it because of these cosmetic faults.

This is my 3rd Kettle now !
I have always had Russell Hobbs kettles as did my parents before me, but we usually bought the "traditional" shape ones. This is now my 3rd kettle of this particular model and they seem to be lasting 4 years each ! Firstly they are a good kettle, and virtually noiseless for about 8-9 months, then the noise increases, so like a good customer I bought their official 'Multi Purpose Descaler' which isn't cheap, and that cures the problem for 2 months if you are lucky, then you need to repeat the process and you only get 5 doses in each bottle, I bought 3 bottles - so basically one it starts getting noisy there is no cure, so don't waste your money on the descaler, I suppose how long the noiseless last depends on your water hardness softness too, out water is very, very slightly limey, you really don't get any limescale build up inside the kettle though as such. Regarding the lid sticking by other reviewers. this has personally never happened to us. Also the 'plastic' taste in the water, once gain we have never found that, and my only thought is that are people filling the kettle to max, boiling it, throwing the water out and repeating the operation - as stated in the instructions ? Wouldn't be the first time people haven't read the instructions, and that includes me sometimes by the way. Now for my BIG grumble and one that Russell Hobbs SHOULD address that is the on/off switch. It seems these are designed to fail, every 4 years in our case, as that has happened to both out last 2 kettles, and I feel sure it will happen to this new one too. in 4 years time I might add that the traditional Russell Hobbs kettles lasted at least 15 years, and IF you were unlucky you might need to replace the element, I and I have replaced at least 500 on the old style ones (Saturday Job), but that that was it, people loved those kettles. Right, back to my point, the on/off tab that you press down eventually fails and snaps off... why ? because it is just plastic and I suspect the heat from the bottom of the kettle also makes it fail and snap. It is absolutely impossible to repair, because it snaps of at the furthermost point, you just can't get into it and repair it safely, I have worked in electrical/electronics virtually all my life, along with a period in design so I have a lot more insight/experience into these sort of problems. This design or material choice (why not make the stem out of metal, then attach the plastic bit on the end of the stem ?) is making people throw away a perfectly usable kettle, everting else was perfectly fine on the two I binned. We are supposed to making everything sustainable and NOT throw away perfectly good electrical goods for a simple fix... Russell Hobbs please listen ! I nearly gave this 3 stars, but when it is working it is fine, the noise is a problem after a while but I can live with that, but the switch snapping off is just criminal really though, look how many customers have reported this. The big question is when (... not if) this switch fails again, will I buy another Russell Hobbs question, well no unless they address the issue. I personally have supported Russel Hobbs for 50 years now, and as I say my parents did too, but is it now time to call it a day ? We shall see in 4 years time... over to you Russell Hobbs.
