A great little kitchen gadget that does exactly what it's supposed to. Highly recommend!
I wasn't expecting much, but this little knife sharpener has brought my kitchen knives back to life. A few passes through and they were noticeably sharper, making chopping and slicing so much easier. The suction base is brilliant as it stays firmly in place while you use it, so it feels much safer than holding a traditional sharpener. It's also really compact, so it doesn't take up any space in the drawer. I've used it on a few different kitchen knives and they've all come out with a much better edge. For the price, it's excellent value and has saved me from replacing knives that I thought were past their best.

Don’t look any further, this is what you need!
Theres nothing worse than trying to chop a salad with blunt tools. I bought this to sharpen my kitchen knives, and initially I'm very pleased with it. Pros: ✅ Easy to set up and use ✅ Good build quality ✅ Performs exactly as advertised ✅ Great value for money Cons: (and this is a stretch) ❌ Instructions are very small to read. Although I didn’t need them ❌ It does leave metal shavings on the knife, and the surface you mount it to. So make sure it’s well wiped down before using the knife again. My Experience: I purchased this mainly so I don’t have to buy a new set of knifes, and it has worked exactly as expected. The quality feels solid and it performs consistently. I've used similar products before but as this can be suctioned to a smooth surface, you can sharpen one handed which makes it stand above the rest. This also compares favourably, especially considering the price. Would I Recommend It? Definitely. If you're looking for a reliable and effective sharpener without spending a fortune, this is it.

The only thing it can't sharpen is my son's wit...
Full disclosure, I use a sharpening steel for my very best knives. It is excellent and I will continue to do so. However, my son was headed off to Uni and had bought himself a few knives to accompany him. He wasn't going to invest the time in sharpening knives with a steel and so we purchased this. If I'm honest, I was sceptical. It's a small, lightweight gadget which sticks to the kitchen worktop via suction (I can imagine some surfaces may be a problem - wood for example). Once secure, you drag your knife through being careful not to press too hard. It does require me to psychologically prepare myself as it feels a bit like nails on a chalkboard (shudder) but it's a quick process. What's good about it? Well, it's compact, sticks really well to the kitchen worktop, is safe, cheap, quick, and easy to use. It also works on serrated edge knives, which I think is a bonus. I've tested it on everything - his cheap knives; my better ones (but not my best ones). It worked really well on all of them. What's annoying about it Not a lot really. His flatmates keep borrowing it, which I suppose counts as a recommendation in itself. He's home for the summer now and so it's living happily in my kitchen. The only downside is it does take metal off your knives and so over time you are probably wearing them away. For me, that is the reason I wouldn't use it for my best, expensive knives. Worth it? I think for something that actually works and doesn't cost a lot of money it is worth it. For the price it does create a sharp blade which makes food prep so much easier. Would I use it on expensive knives - probably not. However, for going to Uni, to take camping, for setting up a first home etc., then I would definitely recommend. I have reviewed this after about six months of use and it is still producing good results and continues to stick to the countertop.

The best knife sharpener for most people
This is smaller than you may think, but it does an amazing job. It sticks well to normal laminate worktop and to marble, which is really useful as you can keep your fingers and hands away from a moving blade that gets progressively sharper! I wet on a sharpening spree and it worked on large and small knives that hadn't been sharpened since new, it gave a noticeable edge to them all. It takes off a visible amount of shavings and I'd recommend rinsing any knife you sharpen before use to get rid of any little metal prices. It does say you can use on serrated blades like bread knives, but the bread knife in my house seems to be permanently sharp so I haven't tested it. It's probably not upto the standard you would need if you're a pro chef, and it may be a bit rough to use in top of the range (or expensive) knives as it does seem to take a lot off but for a normal home cook it worked a treat. For cost and ease of use you're going to have to go a long way to beat this. My only tip is to check the direction arrow on top of the sharpener, it can only be used in one direction!

Surprisingly effective for knives
I have a full set of Type 301 Chroma knives - I wont say what they cost but you could buy a small car with the money. Had them for about 6 years now and great as they were they do go blunt eventually. Being very hard steel the japanese whetstone I bought is frankly a waste of time - soak 20 minutes, faff about with mess and then convince yourslf they are sharp. Frankly they are nothing like the standard when I bought them using one. Having researched everything from powered sharpeners to hand held ones, and being wary of damaging the knives, I thought I would give this a try before buying something more expensive. I tried it first with the least expensive paring knife following the video guide. Gently drawing the knife didnt make any difference and for a second I thought I had made a mistake - no change. I then exerted a bit more pressure, drew the knife back and noted a tiny metal shaving on the worktop, and that the knife was razor sharp. Certainly far sharper than it had been for years and comparable to a new replacement chroma I bought a couple of weeks previously. I then tried it with the bigger knives, and although the curve of some of them (they are all oddly or japanese shaped) sometimes makes it tricky to do end to end sharpening it isnt the tool's fault and in fact you can draw the knife 99.5 % through and across the whole business end of each of them. It did also do the bread knife as promised although I found it oddlu unenjoyable and a bit strange. Probably me but serrated edges are odd. I have read concerns re damage, using up steel edges and so on. I have not experienced any 'chipping' (in fact it has removed a few from the knives)and as for the loss of steel - well I dont see how a knife can become sharp without that happening. In addition if you have decent knives you wont have to do it every time you use them (I have only sharpened them once so far because once you have your edge back they last ages) and it only takes a fraction off. It is so refreshing to have my edges back for cooking and (sadly) isa great talking point when you demonstrate the knives (yes I know the paper trick is naff but doing it with thick plasticky paper and battery packs does impress some people ...) Overall I found it to be a superb product that needs a little practice but it has saved me a lot of money, brought my knife set back to life, and in my opinion is ideal for hard steel as it is difficult to find a domestic product relatively cheaply that can do this. The final point is practicality - I dont want a machine I have to plug - in my kitchen is full of them in what I call the blender draw. It is tiny and the size does not reflect the functionality. I am not a review writer but posted this because there will be a lot of people looking at the product and wondering (probably worried what it would do to decent knives) that will get a whole new lease of life for a tenner or so. Highly recommended.

Okay not great
It sharpened my knife but didn't make it as sharp as I thought it would. It's okay but not amazing, to be fair it was only £8 so you can't expect it to be amazing! Works better on a smaller blade

It must need for your kitchen knives
One of the top notch, knife, sharpener I’ve been using for my kitchen knives, and the just a couple of swipe makes tomatoes slice very much easier it’s very easy to use just to swipe it. That’s it. I bought our prime week so it’s quite reasonable prize

Works like a charm
The product works like a charm. I have used it with the dullest knives that I have, and I accidentally cut myself the next use. So don't overdo the sharpening with little disbelief in the product, like I did as it could be dangerous. Best in the price and very easy to use. Complete value for money. I don't know if it works for the three kinds of knives that are suggested as I only used it with flat knives and not the saw kind of knives.
