Seems good. Great fun and durable for the price
Used for one summer. So far so good. Inflates quickly if you have a big pump (not supplied). One-way valves work well and help. Similarly deflates quickly and easily. Folds / Rolls up quite small, and has some handy straps so it can be carried like a rucsack (But I haven't quite yet figured out the best way to end up with straps and package in a comfortable position for carrying) It is quite heavy, but at least it goes back into the box relatively easily, to protect it from damage over the winter. Seems to work best when inflated more rather than less - can lose direction when paddling if not fully inflated. It also gets blown around a bit. A small 'sea anchor' would probably help, to act like a fin to keep it straight if paddling for some distance. Also, as for anything inflatable on open water, it will get blown downwind quite quickly in a strong breeze. Overall great fun for all the family, and great value!

Nice bit of kit for £100...not sure what the difference is with the more expensive ones but this seems to be more than adequate for the job. Well made and easy to use. Weighs 18lb. Needs pump to inflate [2.8 litre hand pump works well] and takes only 10 minutes or so to get up and running. Valve caps are difficult to grip and undo on main boat but that might be a good thing half way across a lake. The seats though are ****. Absolute waste of time. Very hard to inflate and valves don't self-seal so when remove pump they deflate and are pretty useless to sit on even when you manage to get some air into them....don't sit high enough in boat and not enough room for backside. Make your own seating arrangements but otherwise good canoe and definitely seems value for money...comes with lightweight paddle as well.

Good, and for the money, great!
Lots to say and quite a lot that can make an impact on the buying decision. First off the necessary details: 2 seater (total max 180kg) 1 double paddle (can be separated into 2 small single paddles). No pump supplied Economy model; shows when laid out alongside the top end Seyvlor inflatables. 3 chamber (2 side & 1 base), + 2 inflatable seats. Main parts have double valves (one way valve in a big deflation ring). Can be lifted when inflated by 1 adult easily, an 8 year old at each end have no trouble either with the robust handles A helpful drain plug under the back end When deflated and once the tangle of straps is sorted out, our 8 year old daughter can just about carry it slung over her shoulder for 100 yards. Then the good: Good build quality, easy to inflate and deflate, pretty sensible layout and double valves not in the way, and airtight, there is an over pressure warning on the side tubes. 2 adults can manage in lake/river waters, I dare say a lighter crew in a tight pumped set-up could do ok off a beach in light surf. The seat design is minimalist but OK with enough leg room for adult and child (borderline for 2x 6 footers). May make you think twice: The base valve does not let air in (on either of our 2 boats) and these have to be inflated without a valve and topped up by mouth and closed awkwardly (difficult but just possible to avoid a lot of air escaping....Grrr). Difficult to pump up really tight (if using an electric pump get a manual pump to boost the last few pumps), the pretty unnecessary rubber prow knobs catch the paddles nearly every stroke (not fitted to top end models). If one of the crew is over 95 Kg the boat sags noticeably. Not the boat for long distance or long periods: can fit a small picnic bag but not much more (can't really fit an ice box comfortably). Paddle is a lightweight economy job, but adequate. We're enjoying them for 2 hour river trips and messing about. They pack into a small boot easily and make a simple picnic a special day out. Quicker and more fun than a dingy, though less dry or stable.

Really pretty good for the price
I have now had this boat for a year and a half and have had many hours in it on the non-tidal River Thames, the River Itchen, a couple of Welsh lakes and (very cautiously) the sea around Jersey (staying close to the beach). It has been pretty reliable. I find it reasonably easy to handle, and I haven't yet bought a skeg. I might at some point. I generally have no difficulty getting from one lock to another on the Thames (downstream and or upstream), at least in normal river conditions. I have had two significant leaks in that time - one of which was on the inflated hull after having been dragged over the river bed (which I have done many other times without problem). Another leak was due to over-inflation. The first one I fixed with the included puncture repair kit. The over-inflation leak which happened three months ago after I'd owned it for about 16/17 months, I repaired using Stormsure glue and a patch (Stormsure glue is a very good product available on Amazon), and have since been out on the water for a number of hours. In general, for the price, this has been a great boat. I intend to make it last at least another couple of years! I would like to stress that I have really had a lot of use out of it (including a fair bit of dragging it over the ground), and only two punctures which were straightforward to repair.

Great for leisure paddling
It's probably very good for the price - I inflated it on the grass but didn't think it was quite what I needed for a regular canoe, I need something with firmer sides and a stronger paddle. For occasional leisure use for fun, this would be absolutely perfect. If you want to canoe regularly, you'd need to add the skeg and buy better paddles - then it's only marginally cheaper than buying a better canoe in the first place. What I do love is the spray deck seems much longer than the more expensive version, so more likely to stay dry, and the backpack system is just so simple to use.... I'll miss both those elements with my new boat.

When Amazon told me they can't deliver the Intex Explorer K2 Kayak on time I ordered this one and I am so happy now. THere is no pump coming with this ...
This Kayak was not my first choice, I read the reviews and was not sure if it worthy or not. When Amazon told me they can't deliver the Intex Explorer K2 Kayak on time I ordered this one and I am so happy now. THere is no pump coming with this one, so I bought one for £ 9.99 from Argos and a Skeg for £ 20.00 from Amazon. Setup and pumping are very easy, it was ready in less than 15 minutes. Skeg installed without a problem. It very easy to control, very comfy and I had a great time on the water. I am not an expert but can not find any problem with it.I believe It is a good choice for entry level.

Fantastic bit of kit for the money
In my second summer of using this kayak, alongside another inflatable canoe and a rigid kayak. I have found this to be really great for the money. So easy to inflate and set up - under 10 minutes from car boot to paddling last time out - and equally easy to roll up again at the end of the session. Tracks and glides well when properly inflated; better with a skeg, but usable without. Very stable and comfortable. It's single skin but seems very robust; I have dragged around a fair bit, and bounced it off all sorts of submerged items and pointy sticks with no problems yet. The paddle that came with it isn't the best, but it is good enough. The only reason I stopped using it (the paddle) about a month ago is I needed a longer one due to being quite tall at 6'4". Overall, very pleased and would definitely recommend.

Has allowed us to enjoy the river
I bought this 2-person inflatable kayak so me and my partner could take to a nearby river and as we live in a flat, owning a solid kayak was not practical. I was drawn to the quality reputation of the brand and the fact this had the inherent ability to be carried like a rucksack which given I have to walk to the water entry point was a massive plus point. I have seen people quickly inflate these using just the Sevylor dual-action pump (not sold with boat) although I cheat and use a 12v air compressor powered from a battery pack to quickly do the volume (in seconds) and then use the hand pump for maybe 20-30 seconds to get the 2 sides and bottom up to pressure. The pressure gauges on the sides allows you to have the confidence to get the boat really solid although it would have been good to have one on the bottom too, as I am sure this part is critical to how it moves through the water and I have no idea what pressure I am putting in to that part. The Boston Valves on the boat are brilliant - you can unscrew them to quickly inflate using an air compressor and then just screwing them back on with the caps open, stops the air coming out and allows you to attach the hand pump and complete the inflation (have I mentioned you need to buy this separately - see separate review). I didn't like the other type of valves used on the seats. They are OK - they supposedly have this two-stage lock, one is operated by pushing the whole belly button in and the second is fitting the cap over the end. The position of the valve for the main seat is not conducive to easily operating these and one of my valves doesn't seat very well but in the main, they inflate quickly and these are minor issues. The boat comes with one double-ended oar and I think it is a poor piece of kit, probably to keep the overall cost down and still be able to claim the boat comes with oars. You can't screw the pieces together tight enough in a way that will stop them sliding, which means an ever-changing oar-length as you use it and not knowing how much extension distance is left before you have two oars in your hand and not one long double-ended one. I bought a Heimuni double-ended oar that comes in 4 pieces that fit solidly together for my partner to use and liked it so much I bought a second one for myself. I think in hindsight Sevylor should consider not including their cheap oar and dropping the price of the boat to reflect this. It reinforces the adage - buy cheap, buy twice as I now have a cheap oar I wish I hadn't got with the boat. We bought the Skeg that goes with this boat (sold separately) so I haven't tried the kayak without it - experts seem to think it is necessary to aid directional stability. We are such novices at the moment that the skeg can't make up for poor oarsmanship but when we get some rhythm going, through light wind and bow waves, we have still been able to easily row this thing in a straightish line. Overall, the boat has been met all our expectations and allowed us to enjoy the river together without too many arguments and shouts of "Left side, Left side, LEFT!". On only our second trip out today we did 4km up-river including using the portage to go past a lock and landed on an island - then 4km back. It's a busy stretch of the Thames near Windsor with a lot of bank holiday boat traffic, river cruise ships, motor boats etc. but we did feel safe and stable in the Riviera and would definitely recommend it but get some decent oars. It is only the oars and the badly sited/fiddly seat valves that I am not giving it the full 5 but it it should be more a 4.7.
