Timex Expedition Camper Men's 38 mm Watch

I really like this watch! First and foremost, I like it because of its comfort. Unlike most watches, the metallic base has a fabric underside, so instead of a cold metal feeling on your wrist, you have a soft feeling of fabric that leaves you barely noticing touch-wise that you have a watch on at all, which is great. Secondly, the watch is extremely accurate, easy to adjust, and does not lose time quickly at all. Thirdly, the watch not only looks nice, but feels durable, meaning that you can wear it in various places without worrying about damaging it. That is not to mean that it cannot be damaged, but rather that its appearance is such that it doesn't really matter if it suffers some scrapes here and there, for it has the look of an everyday, hardy watch anyway. It is lightweight, but not too light, and I can simply say that it is very comfortable to wear. There are additional features that are useful, such as the glow in the dark feature, as well as the date window. I find that the latter is highly accurate, the watch keeping the correct date regardless of what time of the day you adjusted it. My only criticism is that the watch's tick is slightly too loud for my ideal tastes, but that is only if you are wearing it in an otherwise silent room. During day to day activity I do not notice the ticking at all.

A nice little watch at a price the means you don't have to worry about bashing it. The 38mm size is misleading as this includes the little protrusions near the crown and on the opposite side. Without these it is only 36mm which suits my 6.75" wrist. The face is very clear so you can read the time at a glance. The hands have long lasting lume but obviously you have indiglo if it's very dark. My watch is loosing 3 seconds a week which is fine at this price point. I noticed that it lost more time if you use the backlight but this could be that the battery needs replacing as it arrived ticking and I no Idea how long it's been in storage. Strap is very comfortable and the whole package is as light as a feather. One thing that did impress me was that the second hand hits all the batons on the way round. I've paid more in the past for watches that can't manage that. You can sometimes here it ticking but it's not at the volume of the Weekender if you are familiar with that model. I'm very satisfied with this simple low priced watch. Only gripe; Timex, please pull the crown out before dispatch so that the watch arrives with a full battery.

This watch was purchased as a special treat for a child who had recently learnt to tell the time. It was a gift and the recipient was delighted with it. Despite the one, I received having had a somewhat tatty box. The watch comes in a neutral colour and has a large face with big numbers; which are clear to read. The only issue is that the date can be found where the number '3' should be and this can be confusing for a child who is trying to gain confidence when telling the time and sees numbers above '12' on the watch (the date and time of day are in the same colour and font and almost of identical size). Still the hands are flourescent and the whole face lights up in the dark - so reading it's well past your own bedtime is possible. The strap is made of velcro so can be adjusted to fit a growing child's wrist but it would be better if it was made of plastic (as the watch is waterproof) so it doesn't need to be taken on and off: on and off all the time. Equally the straps can get dirty and cling on to dust/debris as your child is outside. Equally the band is somewhat uncomfortable especially if it does get wet. The watch is clearly not for a man - the strap isn't long enough - but the face is large and it can look a bit cumbersome on a child's arm. Still I like its simple, sleek design. Actually I like it being big and the watch looks robust and that it won't break or easily get damaged. Good as boys tend to be a bit rough..... All in all though it is a good watch at a reasonable price and from an average, well-known manufacturer. They are not outstanding and there are issues with the watch (where improvements could be made, that are simple and inexpensive) but good enough for the job. And if it gets lost, I wouldn't get to gloomy about it and would probably end us replacing it with same one.

This watch is one of the best value on the market. It has a simple, easy to view design with one of the best lighting systems there is. For the price I cannot think of a better purchase. I own several watches (including high-end names) and this I use as my day-to-day watch. It is good looking and it's straight forward, simple design mean it is elegant enough to wear with any outfit. It's rugged and waterproof, so I don't need to worry about what I'm doing with it. I simply put it on and go. The strap is durable and easy to put on and wear. That said, the size of the watch itself makes it very comfortable. Some watches can be too big and chunky or too small to be seen. This one gets it right. Being ex-military, with a good few years experience, this would make an ideal watch for Exercise or Operations.

I use this for my work watch a few days a week. I wanted to use it for a short while before reviewing it, It lights up well and is easy to read. It is waterproof and stood up well in a swimming pool. I will use it for my holiday scruff watch as well. I prefer material straps for everyday watches. The strap on this watch is okay. If I wore the watch 24/7 I am sure it would last a good while. I take it off when I am not working so it is unlikely to last as long . It is a little fiddly getting the strap through the strap but that is done to me putting it on and taking it off so much . Its a good watch and I am pleased with it

Habe die Uhr heute von Amazon bekommen und muss sagen, ich bin (nach dem vorherigen Lesen aller 1 und 2-Sterne Bewertungen) wirklich erleichtert. POSITIV: - sehr schnelle Lieferung durch Amazon - bis vor wenigen Tagen kostete die Uhr hier noch um die 32 Euro, habe sie jetzt für weniger als 25 Euro bekommen - lt. Produktfoto und auch lt. der Artikelbeschreibung hier auf der Seite ist die Uhr bis 50 Meter (5 Bar) wasserdicht, bei mir steht aber bis 100 Meter (10 Bar) drauf, siehe eigenes Foto. :-) - Zeiger leuchten sehr kräftig und auch lange nach - zusätzlich INDIGLO-Beleuchtung auf Knopfdruck, wenn man will. Funktioniert perfekt - Uhr ist nicht so klein, wie befürchtet, sondern für mein Handgelenk gerade richtig (ebenfalls auf dem Foto zu erkennen) - sehr leicht und Band ist ordentlich verarbeitet, bei mir kratzt gar nichts an den Rändern NEUTRAL: - Ja, diese Uhr "lebt". :-) In ruhiger Umgebung und wenn ich sie wirklich in die Nähe meines Ohres halte, dann höre ich ein Ticken, was ich aber für normal halte und für mich auch irgendwie zu einer Uhr dazu gehört. Letztendlich sind an jeder Analog-Uhr nun mal Zeiger, die mechanisch bewegt werden müssen und das geht nicht (!) vollkommen geräuschlos ab, "schleichende Sekunde" (wie bei einigen Weckern), nun hin oder her. So laut, dass man aber etwa nicht schlafen könnte oder sie sogar im fahrenden Auto hören würde (wie in zwei Rezensionen beschrieben) ist sie nun aber definitiv nicht, also da muss man nun wirklich schon ganz außergewöhnlich empfindlich sein. NEGATIV: - Katastrophale Verpackung, wie ich es von Amazon nicht (!) gewohnt bin und auch noch nie erlebt habe! Ich hatte einen Kalender mitbestellt und man hat tatsächlich ein schmales Paket für einen flachen Kalender genommen und die Uhr einfach mit draufgesetzt, so dass das Paket dann mit einer großen "Beule" ankam. - In ziemlicher Sorge öffnete ich die Verpackung und der kleine Umkarton aus Pappe von Timex hatte auch wirklich sehr gelitten, der Pappdeckel viel gleich beim Anfassen ab. Die Uhr selber jedoch hat den Transport (und damit ihre erste - und irgendwie auch unverhoffte - Bewährungsprobe) trotzdem gut überstanden. Der Plastebügel (eigentlich nur zu Deko-Zwecken im Schaufenster gedacht) auf dem die Timex-Uhr befestigt war hat das Schlimmste verhindert. Bzw. er hat alles verhindert. Die Uhr ist völlig ok aber es war reines Glück. - Trotzdem lasse ich diesen Lapsus von Amazon nicht in die Bewertung der Uhr mit eingehen (die bekommt ihre 5 Sterne) aber ich wollte es wenigstens im Kommentar hier mal erwähnt haben. FAZIT: Die Uhr ist formschön, sie wirkt nicht billig, ist sehr leicht und zu einem wirklich günstigem Preis zu bekommen. - Und vielleicht bekommt man ja sogar noch eine, die bis 100 Meter wasserdicht ist. ;-)

Un reloj muy cómodo, de resina, cuya esfera no pesa, lo que unido a su correa de tela haceque parezca que en realidad no llevas nada en la muñeca. La esfera tiene el tamaño perfecto, con el extra de que el cuadro del reloj se puede iluminar pulsando un botón. Se nota además que es resistente. Con el tiempo veré cómo aguanta el tiempo de uso pero reconozco que me he quedado muy gratamente sorprendido con este producto.

Gave this to a friend who appreciated the simple white dial with clear numbers and backlight function. The velcro strap made it easy for him to put it on. What surprised us was that the strap was comfy - no scratchiness as expected from fabric straps. At this price point, will recommend others to buy
