Personally I love this smell, but I can understand why there are mixed reviews. It wasn't quite the new car smell that I was expecting when I first received it; but it's become my go-to for my car. Aside from smell, I've never had a problem with staining but also my car's have all had a grey interior. It comes in an easy to use bottle, just turn the squirt nozzle. I think the price point is fine but I probably would not pay more for it. The smell lasts a few days but is at it's strongest maybe 2 minutes after spraying, so if you are a car cleaner it's not going to be super strong unless you return the car immediately and I find it adds a nice freshness to the car.

I recently purchased this New Car Scent Air Freshener, and after hearing a lot about the company and the quality of their products, I was excited to try it. Given the premium price, I expected a high-quality experience, and I wanted to give the chemical guys brand a chance. I seen mixed reviews online, with some people commenting that the scent is more like plastic or medicine, while others mention it smells like a new car and the best they’ve used. I’ve also seen some videos online about how great this product is. Which was why I thought to give it a try. Given my experience, I found the product to be quite different from what I expected and heard about. Unfortunately, I have to say I was quite disappointed. The scent does not resemble the fresh, new car smell I was anticipating, when I first smelt it I was confused, I thought maybe the smell would change or there must be a mistake in what I ordered.., it has a very antiseptic, dentist like smell, which is quite off-putting. I only sprayed a small amount on the floor mat. I even gave it several hours to see if the scent would change, but it still reminded me of the smell I experienced during a root canal treatment, which was not what I had hoped for.. I have had better air fresheners for a fraction of the price I had high expectations based on the reputation of the company, but unfortunately, this product did not meet them.

When first applied it tends to smell like TCP/disinfectant. But once it settles it does have a 'new car scent'. In 2025 I am still using it in my car and I love it. It lasts for ages. I spray it under the front seats and it banishes other odours for weeks

It’s definitely not what I describe as new car smell I.E it’s not the same smell that was in when I purchased the car. There’s a strong plastic and chemical smell instead, but it’s not a bad smell. DO NOT spray a stream of it into a carpet mat, it leaves a stain but is easy cleaned with a damp cloth. To use I popped the cars AC and circulation on, sprayed a bunch of it on the rear mats and into the passenger footwell and turned the fan on high. Left it sitting for 5 minutes and topped it up later on in the evening. Yes not good for the environment but good for my happiness on the way to work. Going to do this once a week to build it in and then maintain there after! Still hunting for the real new car smell.

First things first, this is NOT a 'new car smell'....but it is the closest you're going to get on the current market. To best describe the smell I would say open a new supermarket carrier bag, take a whiff and times it by ten. Yes, it has a very new plastic smell. Personally I like it, it smells 'new', it smells clean and sanitised. If you are looking for something perfumed be it a cologne type fragrance, bubblegum-esque or little tree type air freshener then this is certainly not what you are looking for. Think of it more as a deodoriser rather than a fragrance. The spray bottle and trigger is of good quality, with no leaking on application. Speaking of application, you don't need much at all. I squirted a little under the dashboard on the carpet and a little under each front seat along with a few squirts in the boot area. The smell is a little TCP like upon initial application but subsides after 24hrs to that new plastic smell. I've only had the product for a couple of days so can't comment on the longevity but I would wage a bottle will last you at least a year as you really don't need to use much, in fact I'd say less is more less you overpower your nostrils! To get that truly off-gassing new car smell, it needs a touch of new rubber added to the scent but overall I'd say its pretty close. So you like those putrid cheap cherry/fruity/vanilla air fresheners, stay clear of this. If however you like that artificial, synthetic, sanitised smell I'd say go for it.

Smells decent initially, but it fades very quickly. Once the main fragrance wears off, it leaves behind a faint tea tree scent. It’s not terrible, but because it doesn’t last very long at all, I probably wouldn't buy it again

I'm not one for flowery smells or the normal car fresheners you dangle from your mirror. I get what other people say about the slightly antiseptic smell but it's not overpowering and does calm down after a day - you only need a couple of scooshes under the seats. It has a slightly chemical smell (as does a new car). I wouldn't say it smells very close to a new car but you do get hints. Main thing is it smells fresh and does seem to get rid of unwanted smells (like my dogs). Will likely last a long time and I'll definitely buy again.

Not good and has a smell like burnt plastic

Tiene un ligero olor como a plástico nuevo, lo cual si es el que le da el aroma a nuevo el interior, lomqie si les comento es que se siente ligeramente grasoso es totalmente normal en este tipo de productos especializados (Chemical Guys), ya que usan bases formuladas con aceites y solventes específicos para replicar la textura química de los materiales nuevos y hacer que el aroma se adhiera y perdure más tiempo en las fibras de la alfombra. No es escandaloso el aroma. Solo de un par de atomizadas en la alfombra directamente en cada parte debajo de cada uno de los tapetes. Lo recomiendo ampliamente.

De geur heeft meer wat weg van een computerzaak / winkel voor kantoorartikelen. Maar is zeker NIET de geur van een nieuwe auto.

Son muy buenos pero Prefiero el de olor a Leather a Cuero. Es una lastima que no lo tengáis

Odeur « voiture neuve » plutôt réussie, même si ce n’est pas exactement celle d’une Golf sortie d’usine. Le rendu reste très convaincant : une passagère l’a immédiatement remarqué. À doser avec parcimonie, car en trop grande quantité l’odeur devient vite trop présente.
