My younger sister absolutely adores this! Its such a great way to inspire creativity! Must buy!

When I first saw this, I thought it was another construction set, with pieces which were not compatible with anything else and basically a short shelf life. In some ways that is the case, but it has one feature which I think is great. There are a number of instruction cards describing how to build a particular project. The card also features a quesiton designed to challenge the builder to work something else out - for example, the slide does not have a roof - what happens when it gets hot? Could you add something to sort that out.It's a nice toy for playing with a child, probably more than for the child to play on their own.

We were very excited about opening this toy with our children as the idea of introducing STEM ideas at a young age is extremely appealing. We have also been told that our son is really good with his science skills at school and loves working with scientific concepts so we have been hoping to encourage these. He struggles in some other areas so it is really important to us to be able to encourage him in the areas he enjoys and not just focus on the areas he finds harder and gets frustrated at.Once out of the box it is clear that there could have been more thought in the quality of the materials used for each of the pieces. Yes they are brightly coloured and interesting to look at but they do not fit together as well as you would expect and for children who are perhaps not as dextrous as some this means putting pieces together can be a bit of a challenge. It also means pieces are likely to break more easily which is a shame as this renders parts of the set unusable.When it comes to playing with the set you can either let children play themselves or use the cards provided to guide them through assembly. This is great as it means that those who have a grasp of reading can use the cards but those younger kids who are perhaps not as able at reading can still get value from the toy.I feel that this set has got a lot of great ideas and thought behind it but it has been let down by the execution of the product itself. If a bit more money had gone into the production of the set you would have a really superb product, instead you have one where the product just misses the mark and is therefore not going to be able to help children in the way it really should.

Great idea, poor execution. The cheap plastic pieces don't fit together or hold together terribly well. The whole set needs a redesign. My 5 year old son likes to get the set out and play with it and create things, so it's not altogether a waste of money, but I'm not sure of its learning value. The card prompts are a good idea but it's not always clear from the images how the pieces are meant to fit together. The purple platform piece we have actually looks different from the one in the picture.

I'm not sure that my kids will ever stop playing with this. They have quite a few 'Learning Resources' sets and this one if probably the most diverse, with all kinds of pieces, puzzles, designs. My only word of warning is that the size of some of the pieces constitute a choking hazard for smaller children, so it is very much an adult-led activity. Would recommend to any parent - time, cost quality all check out.

Excellent kit. My 3 year old is learning to use this, a little complex for his age but he can match the pieces to the instruction pages and bring them to me to help build. He reconstructs once he has seen it built. My only complaint is the purple piece that holds the slide isn’t large enough or it should have been made to click, super frustrating because it falls off so easily.

I got this for my 5 year old son for Christmas, along with a couple of other sets of the Learning Resources Engineering sets. The kid loves to build things and he is extremely creative. He doesn't really build the items on the sets, but that's okay. The things he creates are pretty amazing. The sets do work well together, as well as separately, which is pretty cool.The colors are bright and fun and are easy for young hands to manipulate. While the 5 year old is at school, my 2 1/2 year old also tries to build with the sets. He can't do much else than stick the legs into the bases, but he has fun with it.I also like to build with this set. I don't know why, but it's fun.So, it's fun all around!! Buy just one set, or several, but it's good STEM for young kiddos.

L’idée était excellente mais les pièces fournies tiennent à peine entre elles ou alors sont impossible à emboîter (toboggan). L’enfant ne peut pas jouer avec les réalisations faites car tout tient en équilibre instable.

This is a great toy for kids who love to put things together and build. It’s comes with large cards as the directions, front and back, with simple directions the kids can follow.The only thing is the pieces are interchangeable so you can’t build the whole playground at one time.
