Amazing game, and zombies too!
I first played this game at a friends house in 2011, and enjoyed blasting the zombies in the mini-game 'Nazi Zombies' so much, that I actually went out and bought my own Xbox! The main game is also a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining adventure, pitting you as an American marine, or Soviet soldier, battling the Japanese and the Germans through the latter stages of WWII. You don't get to choose missions, and your actions don't affect the story arc, but it is actually well scripted, and the story takes you along with it, using cut scenes within, and between missions. You get a variety of weapons, and even drive a tank and fly in a flying boat for some missions. Overall - a great addition to your games library, and the zombies can keep you entertained for hours!

Call of Duty: World at War (Xbox 360)
Purchased this as a present for my son to go with his new Xbox. Delivery was fast but original Item unfortunately would not load correctly. I messaged the seller and they immediately sent out a replacement, no quibble and minimum fuss - hence the 5 stars still because I really did rate their excellent customer focus to sort out this issue. The game itself is excellent and my son has been entertained for hours!

Lock and load! This is a good shooter.
Bought this because I had a real yearning for a decent WW2 shoot 'em up. The reviews for many were less than great. This one was the lesser of many evils. So... as far as first person shooters go, how does it fare? Firstly, it's a world war two FPS so don't be disappointed when you don't get ultra-modern blasters and hover tanks. You get bolt action rifles, sub-machine guns that kick the aim all over the place, and you spend a lot of time running like hell from grenades. It is excellent in it's close to realistic old school physics. Great sound effects and visuals, just do yourself a favour and don't try to stick to all the advice shouted by your colleagues. Most of it is for effect and you'll end up running into trouble rather than winning. Next, the player levels. Deffo start on 'recruit difficulty', and even then you'll have a tough as nails time. The levels are DAMNED hard, and die you will... REPEATEDLY! Keep an eye out for the grenade indicator and when it pops up starting sprinting. Don't waste your time trying to throw them back, you'll have to find it first and that means blowing your own arm off. The levels themselves are visually good. Once you get over the initial common-place FPS issue of walking through light undergrowth like it is mist you quickly attune to spotting bad guys at range, and the aiming physics are really good too. If you sight up on a machine gun nest at incredible distance you stand a chance of taking out the gunner, unlike some games where you can pop off shots all week but hit nothing unless you are on top of it. As far as WW2 sims go this is a good one. Okay, it gets a bit same old-same old once you've been running, ducking and blasting for 3 or 4 levels, but the authenticity involved is better than 90% of the competition. The solo campaign is a good long run as well. I played Medal of Honor Limited edition recently and aced it in a single morning. Too many next gen games are geared at online co-op BS. Something I personally cannot stand. I want to play games for myself in my living room, not against some hacker from Sau-Paulo who does nothing but gaming and I don't stand a chance against. Well, COD World at war has a good long solo campaign, so traditional gamers can enjoy it as much as the co-op/online noddies. Worth the couple of quid it costs for the purchase. Buy it, load up and prepare to get shot to pieces. It's not uber-violent either, so the younger gamers can blast away safe in the knowledge that their overly protective parents won't get twisted up over the action.

Lol I is been I long time
I bought this ages ago and forgot to review it. This is a really great game I loved the zombies mode this where cod Zombies started and imo the best version of the maps because they contain fun weapons like flamethrowers

Back to WW2 but still great.
World at war (COD5) goes back to it's WW2 roots but still has the multiplayer options and downloadable content found in the previous version. Weapons return to the more typical ones of that era. I found the campaigns in the Pacific and new weapons like flamethrowers a really interesting change. Characters voiced by Keiffer Sutherland and Gary Oldman make an appearance too!! It's hard to review these games too in depth so I'd advise you buy it preowned for a few quid and try it yourself ;)

Was a great game until they allowed to the cheats and hackers to take over the multiplayer servers.
Was a great game until they allowed to the cheats and hackers to take over the multiplayer servers. The actual single player and even multiplayer is very intense with body parts and blood flying everywhere and the harsh reality of that campaign which gives the World War 2 theme and the horrors of the Eastern European and Far East campaign some historical significance and this game still worth playing for that. Don't think their will ever be another Call of Duty like this... so worth the buy

Good campaign and fun multiplayer
Pretty much what you would expect from the CoD series. Bought it for some offline gaming between me and my son. Great fun that you can play the campaign co-operatively via split screen on the same machine. I love the World War 2 setting and there's plenty to keep you entertained for hours assuming you're a fan of first person shooters. Probably not worth 5 stars but better than 4, so I'll go for the 5. :)
