My machine stopped working so thought I'd try to descale it to see if that would make a difference .... and as if by magic, it now works again. It is rather expensive which is a nuisance as I'm sure it will require another descale in the not too distant future.

Quality descaler

Look... it did the job that it was meant to do, did it effectively and I have no complaints in that regard. However, when you consider what that job was, i.e. cleaning a bit of scale from a coffee maker, then this is a very, very expensive solution. I'm sure that there are products out there that will do the job just as well for a fraction of the price. Nespresso products seem to lean towards the expensive end of the spectrum anyway, especially their capsules but £9.71 for 2 sachets of descaling fluid is completely over the top.

Purchased here on Amazon as Nespresso do charge €10 for delivery on items under a certain amount, so although they sell the descaler kit cheaper it actually works out dearer in the long run if you are just buying the kit... disclaimer I used a remaining voucher of €4 so I got better value. The left over liquid can also be used in your kettle and is much more efficient than using cheap shop bought descalers for kettle/irons etc. The remain liquid from the descaling or kettle can also remove and loosen the coffee grime left on the plastic parts of the Nespresso machine if like me you're lazy enough to leave it in that state that is. Most definitely worth buying for your Nespresso machine as other solutions are not tested and they have a chance to damage or just not work as efficiently as Nespresso's recommended solution!

More expensive than buying from Nespresso but free postage so worked out a good deal. A great product and worked perfectly with my machine. A pair of sachets so have one ready for it's next descaler in 6 months.

This was easy to use, sorted the machine out.

The set seemed to work OK but came without instructions, which I had to look up on line and it took quite a bit of searching to get there. On my way I discovered that the same kit can be purchased directly from the manufacturer for half the price I paid. My advice to anybody considering purchasing this product is to read the instructions on line BEFORE purchasing (none are provided with the product; their instructions are to look at the booklet when you purchased the machine or to look the proper instructions up on line!) and then to purchase directly from the manufacturer, unless, of course, you can get it cheaper elsewhere!
