Is this hatchet made in Europe ? Or at least in a democratic country with a good human rights record ?

No, this hatchet is made in Communist China. I gave it to my brother when I found out. The advertising for this hatchet makes it look like it's Made in the USA. Very deceptive!

What is the eye measurements?

I just measured and mine is about 1 5/8" x 3/4".

Does this come with a leather sheath?

Yes it does. The one pictured is the one you receive. It just covers the blade not the whole head
