Best Headset I've Ever Owned
I've now owned this headset for over 6 months and have yet to have a single issue with them. They are simply fantastic. I've always found Turtle Beach to be high quality and these are no different. When I first got them they hurt my head/ears slightly after an hour or two of wearing them but over time this stopped being an issue as I wore them in. They are super comfortable to wear and also adjustable. As for the sound quality, it's just amazing. There are a variety of different settings you can choose from (Game mode, Music mode, movie mode, etc.) as well as settings within those (for example, when in game mode you can choose to have it on "Shooters" or "Racing"), so you can really find the best sound for you. Personally, I tend to use "Signature Sound".They also come with a sleek black stand which they sit in when not in use, and this also charges them. The battery life is excellent so you don't need to worry about them running out of power after an hour of using them (even if they do, you can simply plug them in via USB).Quite simply they're one of the best purchases I've ever made. Still very happy with them. Sure they're one of the pricier headsets on the market, but you absolutely get what you pay for. I use these most days and I've never felt like I wasted money on them. Highly recommended, especially for gamers.

Brilliant headset!!
Cracking headset. Been using daily for a few months now. Sound quality is brilliant, Bluetooth is very useful, especially getting a call in the middle of a game you can answer your phone from the headset. Range of the wireless is decent. Can also Bluetooth it to my pc and use it for pc gaming too! Also obviously Bluetooth is just in stereo.Comfortwise they are brilliant too, even for someone who wears glasses. I find a lot of headsets give me uncomfort after a long gaming session with my glasses on. These are very comfy though!Battery life is brilliant. Never had the run out of juice in me, and charging them is very easy and simple. One thing is to make sure they are updated before you start! To update download the turtle beach software on pc and plug both the base and headset via usb. Earlier versions apparently had a microphone issue which was fixed via and update. Mine however came fully updated!

RISKY
THE GOODSound quality is awesome. No doubt about it. This is what you expect from a premium headset. Iโve been using this headset for 12 hrs now since it arrived from Prime Day. Was on sale from ยฃ170+ down to ยฃ135, which for me, was a bargain given the original price years ago. Presets for gaming is not bad. Prticulary like the superhuman sound and footsteps enhanced...gave me some advantages to my matches. Also, the charging dock is very nice. Unless you game for 12 hrs straight then of course you loose battery in the middle. The grEen LED light in the dock is always on which is beautiful. Indicates that the headphone is charged, otherwise its red if charging. The Movie and Music presets are not that bad as well. Physically, you get a premium quality feels out of the headset. The green highlights are impressive for xbox enthusiasts.THE BADThe plates are loose. They are fully functional but when I turn my head or move my body, the screech is unbearable. Noise cancelling could not remove it. It just vibrates to your inner ear. Itโs very, very disturbing. Called customer support for this. Amazon is happy to give me 10% additional discount and made me happy not to return this. Otherwise I would have used the full refund to purchase Stealth 700 instead. The โinvisibleโ microphone is a little terrible although they made a nice move putting it on both sides. But headsets with mic for me are little bit more appealing to look at for gamers. It does pick up sounds quite nicely. It does not have IOS support which sucks. Th app only supports Stealth 700. Android, yes.Rare sound drops. Definitely noticeable if your playing action RPGโs which has endless sound effects.Thereโs a small, scratching, sort of a windy noise when choosing any options on any menu. You could recognise it immediately on your xbox homepage when scrolling around the interface.OVERALLI would have given this 2 stars if it werenโt for the prtial discount and Amazon Prime Day sale. Itโs not worth the ยฃ170+. Just keep an eye if the price drops low again.

If only this was as good as the hype?????
Primarily tested playing Battlefield 4 and GTA V.I really really really wanted this to live up to the expectations of the marketing and the hype.My previous headset was the Tritton Warhead but when my Xbox 360 finally gave up on me I upgraded to the Xbox one. There came the problemโฆโฆ..The Tritton Warhead headset was not compatible with the new Xbox one! So I started looking for alternatives and the Turtle Beach Elite 800x seemed to do, essentially, what my trusty old Warheads did so I pre ordered them.Having had the headset for nearly a month and gaming with them approximately 5-7 hours per day (yup I need to get out more and find a life) I think I have given them a fair crack of the whipNow, with all the fandango sound settings, I pretty much found myself always using โsignature soundโ. I found this more effective than โfootstep focusโ et all etc etc.I liked the movie mode different sound selections changing between โtuned for horrorโ or โtuned for actionโ. These worked quite well.I didnโt like the music mode. I thought the sound for music streamed from either my ipod/iphone or mac was of a poor standard. My cheap Sony mdr v55 headphones have a far superior sound. Not what I was expecting and really disappointing.Back to the gaming though as pretty much, this was what they were purchased for. After about half an hour the headset becomes really uncomfortable. The pressure of the headset pushing against the ears becomes apparent (unless I have a mahoosive head?). The ear cushions are of a leather/leatherette with memory foam padding. Memory foam = Hot and these headphones soon have your ears proper toasty and sweating which adds to the problem. The buttons on the sides of the headphones are really sensitive. When you have a good old stretch as you do waiting for the game to start, its easy to change the sound settings when your arm lightly catches the side of the headset. This, WILL really start to get on your goat as you then have to go through all the presets again to get back to the sound that you want. The microphone is a strange one. The monitoring for the microphone isnโt that loud but, at least its there as a feature. I used that all the time on my last headset.Sometimes I would appear normal in the chat and then other times I would sound faint and people could hardly hear me.Active noise cancellation โ I didnโt really notice or couldnโt really tell the difference between it being on or off? Does that mean it was a feature not working on my headset? When you are using the headset in a quiet room and you want to turn the volume down it will only go so low and then will be turned off using the volume down. This surprised me. Its like it will only go so low and then it just mutes (it also does this with the game chat). The ability to adjust the volume lower would be benefitial. At all times there seemed to be a very low hum in the headset which really bugged the bejeepers out of me. It really does twist your melon and with the hotness and the pressure pushing on the ears it really is a relief to take the headphones off and let you head โbreatheโ.Charging was easy, just put them in the stand and off you go. The odd occasion they didnโt charge and instead decided to switch back on but in the grand scheme of things thatโs the least of the problems.Set up too was easy. Just plug it in and off you go although, be aware, there is an app that you can adjust your sound settings on the headset remotely from you smartphone BUT this is only available on Android and not available for apple ios devices! Pretty poor imo.Summary:Disappointed as I wanted this headset to live up to the hype. It was supposed to have been tested by โPro Gamersโ, hmmmm I suspect not, or they were so in awe of trialing a product for Turtle Beach they refused to see anything bad in it.This was my first headset of the Turtle Beach brand and as it was their โpremiumโ headset and it was of this poor quality I donโt think I will try any other Turtle Beach products. The 7.1 sound although โgoodโ is not brilliant or outstanding compared to Tritton Warhead 7.1Many thanks to Amazon who promptly helped with the return of the headset.I am now awaiting the SteelSeries H Wireless headset instead.

Fantastic headset, only a few small issues
These are a pretty pricey set of headphones, but for the price you pay you get the best headphones on the market, they are on the same level as astro A50s. That said to get the best out of them you really need to select the correct settings or they can sound slightly tinny and on one setting (the tuned for shooters setting) they don't work at all, I haven't had a chance to troubleshoot this issue and I'm sure it will be an easy fix (but should I need to troubleshoot issues on a headset at this price?). That said they are fantastic at delivering immersive sound should you select the correct settings. I have used them most playing the new Gears of War ultimate edition and they've really made the difference in a couple last round 1v1s. Although me being generally terrible doesn't really help. The dock charges well and it's a nice touch being wireless. They feel a little heavy on the head after a long session, but then again for a 7.1 surround sound headset you can't expect them to be feather-light. I feel there is only one small room for improvement when it comes to the design of these headphones and that would be the setting selection. It takes a while sometimes to click once and wait for the headphones to tell you which setting it is changed to, then click and wait, click and wait etc. When you are in a 1v1 or another fast paced, high pressure game the last thing you want to be doing is be a sitting duck whilst you adjust your headphones to the "footstep focus" setting. I realize that some of these problems may be fixable with the Turtle Beach app. I have just installed this and will be testing it out later. Other than that the noise cancelling option works really well and I've had no complaints about mic quality from my friends online when using the correct mike setting (I use the "quiet room" setting). Overall pretty solid headset with a couple of small issues that I'm can or will be resolved. I only give it four stars because of the price of the headset and these small issues

totally amazing
I love these headphones. I have owned cheaper sets and my last was the x12's and the difference is gob smacking. Sound quality is amazing and really immerse you in sound. Takes gaming a step further, you can hear even more than cheap stereo headsets can provide, although the option to listen in stereo in available. Mine worked straight out of the box, pluged it in and wow!. There is an app for android you can download from turtlebeach.com so you can control everything from your phone or tablet. Note: to swap presets you must first upgrade the firm ware and this can only be done via pc or mac. To be honest...i havent really tried the mic yet though it does sound a little odd while i talk, i know it will take a little time to get used to the new sound and i still need to upgrade my firmware as i have no pc. But they do work fine straight out of the box and you can use the app. And i dont care if the mic turns out to be not so good as i dont need to listen to myself talk when i am literally basking in 7.1 saround heaven. The bass on these things could deafen you. They look awesome too and no more miles of wires getting caught in the hoover :)UPDATEI have to say i am extremely happy with this headset. i have tested the mic on xbox live with various people and groups, i even made some phone calls after pairing my mobile, and only 1 guy said i sounded muffled until i explained that i had coughed lol. i will admit that with 'noise reduction' off, you can hear your voice from both mic's but whom ever is listning only hears 1. and with the NR set to 'quiet room' i'm not sure if i hear my voice at all through the mic, but others still hear you. i can only imagine what other people are going on about? maybe they forgot to remove the tiny rubber caps from the optical cable ends (they are transparent and looks like they are supposed to be there). or perhaps they forgot that you MUST have your xbox ON and be signed into a profile before you connect the headset and stand/transmitter for THE FIRST TIME or they may not work properly. and i still havent updated the firmware yet.

Great Headset... Worth Every Penny
Right... I felt compelled to write a review of this product as I have both been elated and disappointed with the majority of the reviews I have seen on the Amazon website. I have been waiting for these since I first saw the Elite 800's for the PS4... To say I was envious of the PS4 having these was an understatement, but am glad I now have a pair specifically designed for the Xbox One. I agree with all the positive feedback on here completely so won't add many more comments about those already written but disagree with most of the negatives and one in particular and I'll explain why.I do not think many people have read the instructions when it comes to Mic Monitoring as most off the negative feedback is down to people saying that the chat sound is not very good quality.... A test was needed I thought. I logged into a friend's party on Xbox Live and after I had READ the Presents Reference sheet I thought this would be a good way to see if what people were saying had any truth in it and I have to say that it does notYou need to play around with the presets for the Mic to see which one suits your own environment, at first they did say I sounded muffled/not very clear but once I had trialed the presets they said that I sounded clear and as they expected... so no issue with Mic quality after all. My only gripe is that there is no app for my Windows Phone to adjust other preset settings, hopefully Turtle Beach will address this however it is really not a drama to plug this into a PC as it takes minutes to update. In summary if you want a top quality Headset then this is it... just read all the instructions first.

Feel the force and put your trust in the dark side
What can i say about these headphones that would make you like them, word is nothing as if like me your looking at everyone's reviews and thinking no way am i buying them you would be right, but STOP.I love to live a bit on the edge and not to be guided by other people and to make my own choice in life and by God did it pay off big style.First thing i did was update the firmware on a Windows 10 pc all went well, then linked everything to Xbox not to hard, turned on Xbox and put in forza 6 and put my headphones on and messed my pants they are somethings in life that you can't explain and this is one of them, the sound that comes out is amazing the only way i can describe it as was like being in a imax movie house or better you hear tyres screech and cars approaching behind you, absolutely amazing. Then to the microphone the thing everyone says is the problem and i must admit i was worried did Skype record seemed ok but i needed a proper test and after putting it off got mate from work to test it with me and to be truthful.Stage set kids, wife, hover this is going to fail i just no it.So i begin talking and get told everything ok I'm like you can't hear kids he says no the what about hover he's no, by all accounts the only time anything leaves the mic is when I talk and the Hoover could be herd faintly even though it was right next to me.I for one am very impressed with these and it's a upgrade from my turtle beach sevens which were great to even better and yes there is a bad bit and it's the price but i work hard for my money and a treat every now and then is nice.2018 and still love my choice, only thing Iโve noticed is battery maybe getting less charge on it, hope they last a few more years
