Another Good D&D Game
I own the four previous D&D board games. For those looking to expand there mini collection these are a great bargain. My kids also love to play these games. My daughter already plays D&D and I used this as a gateway for my 8 year old to start playing. The minis are of decent quality. You can get better quality buying them individually but you will pay a lot more. If you are buying just for the mini you should look at the different sets to see which is most relevant to your campaign. All the D&D games use the same basic rule set with small tweaks. The rules are fairly easy to understand but sometimes you will have to make interpretations on how various magic items or different cards are supposed to be used. This never bothered us but I know some people dislike this. The game come with a bunch of different scenarios that can be played individually or as a campaign. The randomness in the games allows for a lot of replayability. Edit: Now that I have played it for a bit now there is one thing that would have been helpful. If you play this as a campaign in sequence you are supposed to add and remove cards. It would have been helpful to have a list of which cards you should be starting with. Instead I had to work backwards to try to figure this out. Does really effect the game play especially if you aren't playing the campaign.

10/10 would die to a vegetable again
"Suddenly you are ambushed by..." -seriously?- "...a walking vegetable with a SPEAR!" roll an 8 or lower to avoid the attack. Great game, great minis, great adventures, great mechanics. The packaging was done right, This is my 2nd adventure system and let me tell you I was doubtful because of how few reviews this game had in Amazon with some stating broken minis or duplicated pieces (I believe this are because of non-amazon sellers). I always check if the purchase is either done for Amazon or the purchase is fulfilled by Amazon, since for me everything was in place and good condition. If you're new to D&D like me, than I recommend you buy either one of the Adventure System Games since it's a good way to start because it's a more easy gameplay (you don't need all the different die, instead you just play with a d20 also included) And if you're somewhat of an experienced D&D roleplayer than I would also recommend it since it's a great way to get your hands on minis and tiles for maps.

A great game but slightly botched
I'm an old-time gamer. I played the original AD&D First Edition rules. I have missed playing the game for years and years and then suddenly I found that there was a way to play without a DM! Let's be honest, the whole D&D Board game Adventure System is not REALLY role-playing in the classic sense, but it has all the same classic monsters from AD&D and it can fill the need for those who find themselves bereft of people to play with. Yes, this game is designed so you can play it solo. The board game is based on a recent 5th Edition campaign book of the same name (Tomb of Annihilation). Those who note the name may make the connection to the old and infamous classic module S1: The Tomb of Horrors. And, yes, this is a continuation of sorts. Acererak, now an Archlich, has returned to wreak havoc. The same is true in the board game. The thing is that the storyline in the board game has a strange idea of geography, having the resting points between individual adventures often weeks travel from where the adventure took place. Ah, but this is a board game not a real campaign. The real problem with the game is that there are so many misprints in the Adventure Book, particularly as to which cards must be removed or added to various decks after each adventure. Sadly, I have yet to find an official sheet of errata for this game, but if you think logically, you can figure out the problems. All in all, it doesn't really affect the main reason to play which is to have fun! I should note that I have played through the entire campaign as laid out in the board game and each adventure took less than an hour to complete, something which can be of inestimable value if you have limited time. It's also important to know that, like the other Adventure System games, there are so many random elements that each time an adventure is played, the experience will be unique to that session. In other words, the replayability factor is practically infinite Despite the nasty reputation of Acererak, I found this game to be much easier to complete successfully that the others in the series. It's still challenging and a LOT of fun. I just wish they had found a way to work in a scenario against a Froghemoth - the people of the continent of Omu actually worship them as the representation of the god Kubuzan and there is an adventure in one of his temples in the Campaign Book.

Fantastic board game
This is definitely one of the better of the D&D/wizkids board games. They made these classes really fun to play by comparison to some of the other sets. This review is being made having played everything except for Mad Mage up to this point.

Fantastic for playing in between the real DnD sessions.
Haven't gotten to play with it much since we just got it, but we had played through the Temple of Elemental Evil box, and this one seems to have more mechanics, which I enjoy. Looking forward to playing with the Wand of Wonder and having those "OH NO!" moments when the monsters get it instead (yes, that can happen). I'll update the review again later once I've gotten some more time with it. I just wanted to offset the single 1 star review that was because they were missing items. That sucks, but if you're missing something you should simply return it and get a replacement instead of leaving a 1 star review. The only problem I have so far is that the tabaxi mini had the tail broken off, but it's a very thing piece of plastic, and a bit of super glue will fix it right up. I plan to paint the minis anyway.

Some thoughts
It’s great but a few things to know. If your pieces are bent, there is a way to fix them yourself. Google it. There isn’t much “role playing”. The adventures are straight forward. You either lay down a new tile if land or deal with what you have going on. Each new tile has chance of danger but not laying down a tile comes with drawbacks as well. I played it with my 12 yo daughter. There are things in the game that felt unnecessary (they don’t add to the enjoyment but don’t make it bad.) Some rules are convoluted, not many. Would be nice to provide a link to a site for updated or expanded rules for beginners. Reddit was a help. Would like to see expansions for these games.

Another great addition to the lineup, but too easy
I’ve collected all the sets in the tile board set series, yet to play Dungeon of the Mad Mage. However, this is the easiest so far. The progression with leveling up and the advancement tokens and treasure cards simply make characters like the Ranger and Wizard way too powerful. It’s still a lot of fun, as of this writing my buddies and I (4 altogether) are heading now into the tomb. Looking forward to getting the loot!!!!

Another improved iteration of DnD board game
Nice simple get to go dungeon crawler board game. Simple rule. Easy to learn and can be considered a gateway dungeon crawler board game. Miniatures details is good.

Excelente juego!

Nice & cool, BUT....
Another great D&D boardgame: Perfect to introduce people into the world of cooperative RPGing, game mechanics are even more refined than the earlier D&D boardgames BUT BEWARE: the minis are much smaller than those of the previous games - it was one of the core features of the earlier games to get dozens of 28mm minis which can be used with other games, too and for an overall reasonable price. No more! The "Tomb's" minis are too tiny.
