Illustrated Words Jesus for Women Devotional Book

Carolyn Larsen has a special gift. These devotions are just right - for me anyway. They are brief, to the point and clearly explained. Each day I am guided, comforted, challenged, encouraged. There is always a helpful focus and, because the devotions are quick to read, it doesn't matter how busy or stressed I am. These devotions are a perfect size to fit into a busy schedule. I am so glad I came across this book.

I wasn't expecting the modern style of "Bible Journaling" word art with so little to actually color.I thought there would be more pictures to color, more illumination of the pages with designs and pictures but it's mostly just the words (some of which you can color, but not many) of short Bible quotes and a very limited design around and behind the Bible quotes.The words of each quote are drawn in different fonts so it looks rather childish, not as mature as the cover suggests.For example, a Scripture quote with a few bubble letters to color, a flower next to it and some microscopic leaves, or a fence behind the words.There's really only a small section of each page that can be colored and a lot of that is very very small.And there are no borders around the pages to color either. So it's not as interactive as I was expecting.It's a pretty book but rather bare bones and basic compared with what the beautiful cover suggests. Perhaps younger women in their teens and 20's would not be surprised by this style, it is probably quite familiar to them. So I will put it aside for our daughters to color as we study it together.

This is a beautiful book to keep in touch with the Lord each day. Not much to colour in, I'd recommend a colour bible like inspire if you want to do more in the way of colouring. However this got me into bible journaling it was a nice taster with out the worry of ruining a precious bible.

This is a really beautiful book. I'm really enjoying colouring each days verse and find that having a book to interact with in this way is making it much easier to understand His words.

I love this daily devotional. Its so lovely inside, Words from the Bible, and plenty of illustrations to colour in. I am so impressed, I'm ordering another one, for my Sister.
