nice looking bucket
I got this for hot ashes when we have a barbecue etc or use the outside incinerator and need to keep the ashes until they cool down enough to dispose of safely.Firstly I must say this is a very nice quality pail, it is waterproof and has sealant round the seal of the base to help with that. I think it would be very useful if you keep buckets of sand near your BBQ or for people to stub cigs out in when you have a garden get together, also would be useful for covering the inevitable puke when it's a kids party. It is very shiny and classic looking and much safer than plastic. The handle can take a huge amount of weight, it is very strong and won't come out of it's place easily on either side. The rivets holding the eyes on are also strong. These buckets do rust easily IMO and are probably better for dry contents, although this one looks like it will last longer than a cheaper version. It looks great in the garden and holds plenty, but as the handle rests downwards it doesn't take up too much space. The wooden handle it great for saving your fingers, I usually have to wrap them in cloth to do this.It is comfortable to carry and a good buy.

Good, Sturdy Bucket
What can be said about a Galvanised Bucket. The galvanising has good coverage and does not have any drips or runs. The brackets for the handles are riveted into the bucket, which means they should be good and sturdy. The handle is a good thick gauge of wire so should be resistant to bending and it has a wooden handle for comfort while carrying.I cannot comment on the water tightness as I bought it for putting ash from an open fire into, which it does admirably.Overall, very impressed and looks great next to our fire.

As far as buckets go, it gets my approval. LOL
Decent quality - I use it as an ash bucket by the fireplace. Fashioned my own cover with a circular straw woven placemat or trivet which was just the right diameter and a small ceramic draw pull/knob - hard to explain what I mean, so I might post a photo when I get a chance. It doesn't seal it off, but covers it lightly and that's good enough for my purposes - plus, it looks lovely. I might stencil something on the bucket's side to decorate it further if I ever find the time to make it more decorative, but for now, I'm happy with it as is. I have bought cheaper buckets at pound stores in the past and they leaked at the seams or from the bottom. This one is good quality and no danger of this when I transport it to the compost heap periodically.

Amazing outdoor plant pot
Bought for planting a Hebe shrub. Sturdy at base, but able to drill through for drainage purposes. Had it for a month or so now and still looks great. I assume it will start to rust over time, but I'm not adverse to that. Guessing it will last a good few years and therefore represents good value when compared to other plant pots made from similar materials.

Not rust free long term
Nice buckets but not protected from rust, I have used by my wood burner one for wood briquettes (which are dry and stored in the house), and the other for coal which is anything from dry to a tiny bit wet, the coal comes in thick plastic bags and is stored inside/undercover, so I am not getting these buckets wet often id ever plus they sit at the warm fire side so don't sit damp yet the rust in the coal one is terrible as pictured, and the other bucket is going the same way. The rust is much worse than the photo captures so please bear that in mind

Not as described
This is not as described - no wooden handle, and is much smaller than 37cm across so no bigger than the existing buckets/planters I have in the garden. It is nice, but it's not what is described in the advert. I'm not sure if it's worth messing about trying to send it back as we're in the middle of a pandemic.

Good, strong buckets that are cheaper than the old ones!
bought these to make a cascading water feature in my garden - not to hold water or liquids but they do this well enough too!The old 'weathered' versions of these are more expensive as they have the dreaded 'shabby sheek' factor!Tip: - if you want these to have the rustic look you can weather them with a vinegar solution - spray on and wait 24 hours - hey presto aged galvanized look.

Like other reviewers
Like other reviewers, i too received the Blackspur copies of the Harris pails. However, I immediately protested and received a full refund. I re-ordered, directly from Amazon (not the alternative suppliers) and received the Harris Victory. The blackspur is smaller and lighter than the Harris, and the manufacturing quality is visibly poorer on the cheap copy. The Harris Victory is heavier, and of sturdy construction. Both manufacturers have a wooden handle, as shown in the picture. This, and the silver colouring, are the only similarities between the two buckets. As a waste paper bin, either would suffice. For anything more heavy duty, I would say pay the extra, and make sure you buy the Harris Victory.
