Quality product at a very reasonable price

I settled on this product having checked out other designs.The plus for this product is that it will accept pads that are either top bound or side bound.I see there are comments from others stating that A4 pads do not fit....let me clarify what I think may be happening.This product is designed to accept "refill pads" which it does just fine. A4 refill pads are produced with the cardboard backing and paper front cover cut to exactly A4 and will fit ok. However, if you try to fit an A4 "notebook" or diary type pad you will have trouble...these will not fit. This is because the front and back covers of those type of books/pads have a few millimetres of overlapping material on them along each edge to protect the pages. This is enough to stop the book/pad fitting. Mine is fitted with an A4 80 leaf pad...the other problem may arise if people are trying to fit 300 leaf refill pads....you may be able to force those in but you will stop the zips from working smoothly.This is a great value product that looks and is quality without having to pay silly money.

I was a little confused by some of the reviews on here that stated this doesn’t fit A4 notepads but I just want to confirm that the one I ordered in ‘brown’ leather DOES fit an A4 notepad (it is tight but it does fit) and the cardboard of the pad slides easily into the back pocket so you can buy a normal sideways folding pad. Absolutely love this portfolio, it’s genuine leather, good value and looks stylish and well made, plus the A4 notepad does fit. Very happy with my purchase and thank you to those who reviewed before me and persuaded me to go with this choice!

Good quality document case which has received compliments from (jealous) observers.Mine is a slightly darker brown than the picture, good substantial feel to it and had a very good brass zip and it smells of leather as it should. It has the feel of quality and I would imagine could produce a satisfying thump is it accidentally collided with the back of someones head.As commented by others it is a tight fit for A4 pages and you have to get TOP BOUND A4 refill pads. The refill pad cardboard backing goes in the " Large Top Pocket with Leather Surround" so if you use a pad the document case has 3 pockets + business card holder. I can use the two inner pockets but have to fold A4 pages as otherwise the paper rips on removal as the zip fastener gets in the way top and bottom.I gave 4/5 simply because if only they had added a few millimetres to the dimensions the case could be used with ease for A4 but it is too tight a fit so use with care. Don't even think about Foolscap which is narrower but longer than A4. Spiral bound or anything with a perforated margin making it bigger than A4 wont fit either.However, I do not regret buying it and have used it regularly for 3 months now.Thank you Ashwood

Not big enough for A4 refill pad, unable to close completely as corner of pad sticks out of folder. Quality of leather good, appearance of product good, but disappointed that, due to size, product not really fit for purpose.

I absolutely love this! Bought as a Christmas gift but if the recipient isn't happy with it (which I doubt) them I wil keep it for myself! It is made from sturdy, good quality leather and nicely lines. It also comes with a dust cover bag. The inside pockets are useful for business cards and papers. It fits an A 4 pad with either top or side opening. I read on other reviews that it is difficult to close the zip with the pad in place, but I didn't find this problem at all. I am very pleased with this item and it is perfect for anyone needing a folder for business use.

Beautiful leather, identical to recently purchased Ashwood weekend holdall . Shiny, quality leather. A4 pad fits, just needs easing down into the outer corners of the folio case and it's fine and the zip closes. Used a zip lube, as I always do with new items with zips and treated it with some TLC and leather-care cream to nourish it. I intend to use this for a long time and it's worth starting off kindly! Leather pen holder fits average pens. Practical fabric bag to store the folder in and prevent scratches. Very pleased.

As has been said it is a very tight fit for A4, I can't fit papers in a folder, even a clear plastic open wallet type. The big plus is it fits in my case along side my 13.3" Laptop. All very compact and practical. Can't fault the quality. Comes with a nice drawstring bag to protect it.
