Lego Friends 41312: Heartlake Sports Centre
We have had this set for a few months now and whilst my daughter liked building the set with me, its not her favourite Friends set to play with and after the initial rush to play with it she prefers to play with her other Lego sets at the moment.I think because of her age the Sports Centre theme is a little bit too old for her and as such she doesn't really understand the treadmill, weights, yoga mat and punching bag. She had lots of fun with the basketball ring, football net, climbing wall and lockers but the whole sort of gym concept is definitely too old for her and so I would think the set would be more appreciated by children around the 9/10 years old range because of this.Size:-I have measured the set and the main Sports Centre measures 25cm wide by 16cm deep by 13cm high. The football net measures 4cm deep by 4.5cm wide by almost 5cm high.Age Suitability:-The set is aimed at children between 6 and 12 years old but as I mentioned above I think this will be appreciated more by older children who understand the sport centre/gym concept.Build Bags etc:-The set has two instruction booklets with easy to follow step by step instructions and three main build bags. The set has 328 pieces plus some small additional spares. The set also comes with a sticker sheet and two base plates which aren't inside the build bags.Figures:-The set comes with Mia and Robert mini figures.Parts:-The set has the main Sports Centre build and also the Football Goal part.Features:-The Sports Centre has lots of features such as the front sliding entrance door, opening lockers and till area along with a bench near the lockers for the figures to be able to sit and rest. There is an outside climbing wall, gymnastics rings and punching bag on the right hand side of the gym and a fruit smoothie stand and water tap area for the mini figures to be able to get a drink. The roller parts of the treadmill move to simulate a real treadmill and there is a yoga/gym mat and stereo which can be removed from their holders so that the mini figures can exercise outside if wished. There is a ballet/exercise barre, weights area and even a trophy stand. Outside there is also a basketball net and bike stand for the included bike to be put when not in use although the bike does also stand happily by itself. Little extra touches include a water bottle, sports bag, bike helmet and ball/sports crate. This is a fun set and a reasonably easy build as my daughter was able to build most of this by herself and she is under the minimum recommended age. As I mentioned above this isn't my daughters favourite Friends set but I think this is because at her age she doesn't understand the sports/gym centre concept.
