It works fine as a pinpointer. That's it's purpose, and it does a good job. To those who gripe that it isn't a "metal detector", well, it is but is specialized. It's not for finding lost keys in a yard, buried treasure or coins, etc. It is for pinpointing them in a shovel full of dirt and the like. It's of decent quality, comes with a holster and lanyard, and with an extra battery. It is a good value, and I am ordering a second for my wife; she loves it.

However, I believe that increasing the range is unnecessary for most users. The primary goal is to determine the precise location of the target, rather than just knowing it's a few inches away.In my opinion, many of the lower reviews for this device may stem from user error or unrealistic expectations about its capabilities. When used as intended, the pin pointer performs admirably.The build quality is robust, and the sound is loud enough to be easily heard. Its bright orange color makes it highly visible reducing the chances of misplacing it (I added shrink tubing as a customization). However, if you're considering this device as a flashlight, you will be disappointed. Its strength lies in its pinpointing ability, and it excels in that regard.

delivery envelope was fine, item box was open both sides, seems to work ok at home have to teste it in shallow water, the only problem was that battery seal was broken and battery installed, battery voltage was 8.1 V, the other battery ok, sealed still.

Metal detector Pinpointer works extremely well, I give it a thumbs up, water proof and good sensitivity.

It's a pinpointer. It's supposed to only detect stuff real close. You use a large metal detector to find the area, then dig for the item and use the pinpointer to zero into the item. Does what it's supposed to do.

Do not BUY. This item we just received and it does not work,

Drains batteries VERY quickly. Cheaply made. Definitely more of a toy for kids VS use for adults.
