This is excellent. An amazing deep fat fryer. 2.5 litres . Sits on worktop just fine. Easy to set up and use. Way better than a risky air fryer. Cooks food perfectly. Not even greasy . Beats the chip shop . And at the price point…. Truly fantastic.

Just the right size a great little fryer

More solidly constructed than some similar models previously purchased using umpteen different brands and also considerably lower in price. Most appear to have been made within a single factory as many of the major parts are very similar if not identical in appearance and possibly interchangeable. Bought to replace a previous item where the enamelled pan, still oily after use and immediately after emptying but before cleaning, fell onto a hard kitchen floor, dented and the enamel chipped which rendered it unsafe to continue to use. We had tried to find the exact item as previously used and which had provided a reasonably long usage life but, as when that was purchased, the previous product (or brand) was also no longer available. More solidly constructed than others at rather higher prices, with rolled edges adding sturdiness and stability that some brands lack. Basic and simple in operation, it can be used for frying various things which are mostly less easy to cook using any other form of fryer, especially the 'air fryers'. There are some recommended frying times and temperatures for a few items, but the advice given here may be contrary to that given elsewhere, especially when cooking chips and such. The generally recommended procedure is to blanche at 150 deg for 5-7 minutes and then to crisp at 190 deg until golden; the suggestion offered here is for longer durations at higher temperature. Try both and see which gives the best results or use time/temperature combinations you know to work well. Used correctly and with the appropriate precautions, the fryer is safe and potentially capable of excellent results. However, it should be noted from first use that its thermostat appears to be incorrectly calibrated and subsequently validated with a digital thermometer later used to check oil temperatures at the bottom of the pan and close to the surface. Readings at the higher temperatures were good and only 10 deg below settings but up to 20 deg below settings at the lower end although producing very good results from the outset. The viewing window and vapour filter are a welcome inclusion, the latter greatly reducing the odours of frying, although not fully eliminating them. You can prolong the life of the fryer bowl by emptying it (when cool) and washing it; filtering the oil after use also helps remove particles which may reduce the oil's working life. The vapour filter is not easily replaceable and will clog; eventually and when the concentration is high, they will condense and liquid oil will seep from it. When you can buy something this inexpensively, its probable working life is a non-issue. Just replace when necessary!

This is a second one I bought and they are good ,the only downside to it is it's hard to clean out as the inner bit doesn't come out

Lovely looking and efficient fryer.

Works well. Chips are nice. It is very cheaply made - but it only costs £25 so wasn’t expecting much. Heats up very quickly as well. Downsides - you have to put the food in the basket, open the lid and lower the basket manually - no lowering mechanism. Other main problem is that there is no seal on the lid. I have a very small kitchen, so once it has cooled I need to move it into the next room. Result - oil everywhere. Don’t expect much. All in all it’s ok, but would not recommend for the elderly as it’s all a bit manual.
