I’ve spent a lot of time with the DT 770 Pro 250 Ohm, and they’re one of those headphones that just keep showing up in studios for a reason. But like the 990s, they’ve got a personality. This isn’t a “safe” tuning. First, the bass. For a closed-back, this hits properly. There’s real sub-bass extension and a satisfying punch, but it’s not loose or boomy. It’s tight, controlled, and gives tracks some weight without turning everything into a bass fest. Midrange is clean but slightly recessed. Vocals don’t jump out at you, and there’s a bit of that typical V-shaped feel. Not a dealbreaker, just something to be aware of depending on what you listen to. Highs are classic Beyerdynamic again - detailed, bright, and occasionally a bit much. You get loads of clarity and edge, but on certain tracks or at higher volumes, it can get sharp. If you’re treble-sensitive, this is where you’ll notice it. Technically, they’re solid. Good separation, clear imaging, and for a closed-back, the sense of space is better than expected. Not huge, but not boxed-in either. Where these really shine is isolation. They block out a lot of external noise, which makes them ideal for recording, monitoring, or just shutting the world out. That’s something the open-back 990s obviously can’t do. Comfort is excellent. Same story - big cups, soft velour pads, easy to wear for long sessions. The 250 Ohm version needs proper power. Straight out of a laptop or phone, they’ll sound flat and underwhelming. Give them a decent DAC/amp and they wake up properly. Build is tank-like. Not fancy, but these are built to take a beating. Bottom line: if you want a closed-back with strong bass, great isolation, and loads of detail, these are a solid choice. Just be ready for the bright top end - and make sure you’ve got enough power behind them. OR, go for the 80 ohm option.

These headphones have almost become a 'gateway drug' into the world of hi-end, audiophile-grade headphones, and it is incredibly easy to see why. First and foremost, the price of (approx) £100 represents exceptional value for money. I'm a headphone guy, and can think of few headphones which offer so much for such relatively little in terms of initial investment. Make no mistake, the DT770 Pro is a HUGE step up from headphones in the £60 - £90 range. Not that there's anything wrong with cheaper headphones, but the Beyer's are in a different league entirely... Second, they are incredibly well built. BeyerDynamic have gone for utilitarian design rather than fashion statement, and this is a good thing. From the sturdy headband to the supremely comfortable ear cups to the thick, high quality cable, these cans will stand up to real world abuse. Finally, and most importantly, the quality of sound is phenomenal. Some listeners have criticised the DT770's as having weak mid range response, but honestly, even though I agree with the criticism, I can honestly say it has not spoiled my listening enjoyment in any way. I listen to an eclectic range of music, from the harshest Norwegian Black Metal, to Dark Wave & Gothic Rock to the bleepiest synthesizer music & chiptunes to the cheesiest 80's pop - these headphones exceed my expectations. There is a price to pay, however, and that is: For headphones in this category, you really do need to provide as hi-fidelity source signal as possible. Don't imagine for one minute that your 128k MP3 files will sound great through these headphones - they will not. The DT770's will show up a poor quality source for what it is. My personal setup consists of a laptop connected to a USB DAC & AMP combo which drives the DT770's. I'm also quite specific about buying digital music in as higher quality as I can. The FLAC vs 320k MP3 can be debated all day, but my own preference is 24-bit or 16-bit FLAC files. Regarding the weak mids, some people prefer to introduce a software or hardware EQ to sort this out. Whilst this may be ok, I'd rather not introduce noise into the chain and enjoy the sounds as rendered by the DT770's unaided. Your mileage may vary, of course... So to summarise, you really can't do much wrong by investing in a pair of DT770's if you want to move up to the next level, but don't want to sink £500 or more on a set of headphones. Also, don't be scared off by the 250 Ohm rating. In my experience, I have yet to find a source which struggles to drive them. My ageing Nexus 4 phone will drive them, albeit with a maxed out volume (so I avoid this generally), my cheap USB audio interface (Lexicon Alpha) drives them superbly and even my laptop (HP Elitebook 8560w) will drive them on full volume, but again - I'd rather just use my USB DAC & Amp (Fiio E7). If you're in the market for a fantastic pair of closed back headphones, I'd have a serious look at the BeyerDynamic DT770's. Recommended without hesitation.

Tldr: Exquisite sound (tested it in my dolby atmos (Onkyo 7:1) receiver, super comfortable for hours on end, particularly love the twisted cord. Primary use is for recording and editing audio books. OK now the longer version. The first use made me cry - the clarity! I love headphones - my oldest 'expensive' pair are the Sennheiser HD 201 which still work. I've just replaced the pads only to notice the plastic coating on the wire has detached from the copper! I also have two Sony sets, wired and Bluetooth. So the DT770 Pro 250ohms. I did a LOT of research - reading reviews and watching videos. Almost bought the Rode NTH100s - but decided against due to issues with clips breaking. No thanks! The DT770s are incredible. Lightweight, extremely comfortable, the twisted cable is a perfect length, excellent and beefy, not going to break any time soon. The sound - glorious and crystal clear. Paired with the Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 4th Gen and Rode NT1 mic has given me a powerful studio. Absolutely delighted. These are by far the most expensive headphones I've ever bought, and I am delighted with them. Highly recommend! My only gripe is zero indictation of which side is right and left! No indication that I can see.

I love these headphones so much, the audio quality is incredible, they feel great on my ears, not too tight, not too loose and they're pretty well built over all......except mine keep dying. I've owned an 80ohm and t̶w̶o̶ THREE 250ohm sets, attached image of my box collection lol I don't use anything crazy, I have a Scarlett Solo audio interface and a Magni Heresy headphone amp both of which keep their volumes at 50%, dead center, never gets touched. Apart from my latest pair which I had lowered the volumes to 40% but they still died. They weren't loud, in fact they were quiet, yet for some reason the right driver just keeps dying. I keep buying new pairs because I'd rather buy a new pair than jump through a billion hoops for warranty which I don't even know if they're covered. Regardless these are amazing headphones, my latest pair recently died but instead of buying a new pair I just bought a new replacement driver and installed it, was super easy, will do that from now on. Thank you Beyerdynamic for making these headphones so user serviceable! [Update 2023] I have now had FOUR separate DT 770's and they've ALL burnt out on the right ear. This is unacceptable. As stated previously, I've never overpowered them, they're 250ohm after all. It's not my amp's fault as my other more expensive headphones work fine and have done for almost 10 years. After this consistent failure rate, I can no longer recommend these headphones. By the way, these are the only headphones with STICKY drivers, I have no idea why Beyerdynamic thought that would be a good idea, but if a HAIR gets through the mesh and touches the driver it'll destroy it.

Before anything, I am absolutely not an audiophile, I'm just a bit of a music nerd who loves music and taking some extra care to appreciate it perhaps. That being said, I was completely caught up in trying to research what pair of headphones to buy as my first proper music-listening endeavour. I wanted to get something which would be really worthwhile and long-lasting, and would be reliable to allow me to appreciate all genres of music in my saved library, from recent releases with powerful bass and sharp, punchy tinny highs to music spanning every decade from today across the previous century until the early 1960s (if this matches somewhat your musical preferences, name almost any artist and I'll have listened to them on these headphones). Basically, out of everything I found (thank you Dankpods on YouTube for being the first person to mention these headphones in a video haha!) these headphones seemed like the best option, and that they are! They have the most well-rounded sound profile to encompass all the elements of music, from the deepest bass, to the clearest mids (instruments and vocals), to the most sparkly highs (like the ts ts ts sounds of hi hats/symbols), and also excellent soundstage for closed-back headphones (if those words mean nothing to you basically it means stereo sound sounds very encompassing, like you're enveloped by music all around). To put it more simply, I genuinely believe these headphones are the best way to listen to music of all sorts, as they just sound so perfectly balanced, and crisp, and clear, and detailed, and responsive, I could continue but you get the point. Not a caveat, but more of a technical asterisk: I bought the 250 Ohm model, but honestly unless you are confident a higher impedance/resistance model is something you want (for example for studio work or if you already have an amplifier), I honestly would say just get the 80 Ohm model and you'll be sorted. This is because a higher resistance model (in this case, the 250 Ohm model) requires more voltage in order to produce rich sound at the correct volume, hence in most cases requiring a specific amplifier to increase the voltage. So, for example, without an amplifier, I couldn't plug these headphones into a phone, computer* or an MP3/4 player, as it would be too quiet and wouldn't sound good. To avoid this problem, get the 80 Ohm model which will be compatible with basically everything and sounds tip top! *Unless you are like me, by which I mean you have a either a Mac Pro from 2021 onwards, a MacBook Air or a Mac Studio from 2022 onwards, or an iMac, Mac Mini or a Mac Pro from 2023 onwards. If you are considering these headphones to be used with one of the devices above, then feel free to get the 250 Ohm model, as all of the above Mac models and later have automatic load detection and adaptive voltage output, meaning they automatically detect and work perfectly with headphones from between 150 to 1000 Ohms by automatically adjusting the voltage output to offset the higher impedance/resistance – you just plug in and press play! So, no need for an amp in this case! Of course if you also want to use these headphones across devices then I would still recommend the 80 Ohm version. For being such high-end and quality headphones, the price, I think, is honestly quite a pleasant surprise. Considering I have happily splashed out £250 on AirPods Pro before now and these headphones sound more balanced and detailed, it just goes to show how nothing can really replace a wired headphone connection (sorry Bluetooth 💔) Anyway, hopefully this review has helped you to feel more informed about these headphones. I honestly cannot recommend them enough; it's been such an enjoyable experience to sit down quietly on late night musical explorations of both new and familiar artists and music and to quietly realise "omg, I've never heard that before in this song!", "Omg, what a cool use of this that and the other" etc. Happy shopping!

I use these for UK underground bassline music production ('DJ Narrows' on bandcamp, insta and other services). I go straight out my mixing desk on the headphone main bus. My volume control is at about 45-55% (250ohm version) and I believe I monitor relatively quiet. I was pleasantly suprised at the sound quality and frequency response. Bass is full enough and deep enough, mids are decent, if I had to be really hyper critical, the upper mids could be a tiny, tiny bit more foward- very small dip on the upper mid but as long as you account for that in translation (check ya studio monitors or something flat to hear) anyone will be good for mixing and mastering. His are nice not over powering or sharp but actually has quite a nice fizz/spice in the high his. Because the sound is so good around, I wish that Beyerdynamic 770s went one bit further and gave some more stereo image but maybe the 880s/990s have that cause of their semi/open design. They are defo comfortable to wear and listen to. In fact, I really dont really recall having fatigue after a few hours sessions with short breaks here and there. I would describe the ear cups are very comfy. As you can tell from the review I was suprised these were so good the price €130 (I paid £108 at the time). I've used Sennheiser all my life, Sony once or twice, but mainly Sennys, at the inexpensive price I thought I'd just give them a go and clearly Beyerdynamic have made a great sounding headphone. The overall design is chunky, solid, and padded, ya not gonna see these on road but they are a tool and not for fashion. I have the 250ohm version, if you are gonna use them with anything else other than a audio interface or headphone amp get the 80 or 32. The 250s were loud enough for me on other devices like mobile and music players but might not be for everybody. I also picked up a mod from CustomCans site to extend and flatten the frequency response but I havent installed yet, just enjoying as they are for a few months before experimenting or modding. -DJ Narrows #Dark4x4

They are ideal for music producers

These are great, great headphones. I came from AKG K550's, I fancied a different sound and looked around at Sennheiser HD650's, AKG 702's, Bayer 770's, 880's and 990's. The 770's seem to be the most loved headphones going so I thought I'd give them ago, for the price I paid; a shade under £112 I thought they were too good to pass up. When I first got them I thought the bass was insane, coming from AKG, which seems to me to have a very high level of attack, much like the Naim Hi-FI I used to own (a sound I adore), I thought I'd made a mistake buying the 770's. However after burning them in for about 100+ hours, they seemed to have calmed down a LOT. Maybe I'm just accustomed to them, but I am fairly sure the sound has matured and as a result sound fantastic. I still think the mids are a tad recessed compared to AKG, but it's all a matter of taste. I listen to a lot of rock, metal, jazz, soul & blues, quite a broad spectrum and they are well suited to all genres. I can tire of my AKG K550's, as they really have a forward sound to them, the Bayers I can literally listen to all day and not tire of the sound. I've currently got them paired with a Schiit Lyr 2 amp, Schiit Wyrd and I am using an iFi Nano iDSD for a DAC. I play only FLAC files 16/44 and higher. The 250Ω will play on a mobile phone or tablet, but not at a high level. I like my music loud and my little iFi Nano only has an output of 130mW which isn't enough to really push the 770's and I wouldn't be surprised if it's got another 30-50mW or so more on a mobile phones power output. I think my next pair of headphones will be the AKG 702's, but I will definitely trial the Bayer T90's if I ever decide to step it up a notch and get serious about a pair of 'phones; if I don't look into the 880's or 990's before then!

Die Beyerdynamic sind die ersten, richtigen Ohren, zu denen ich bisher von deutlich günstigeren Kopfhörern umgestiegen bin. Ich habe einige andere Beyerdynamic-Modelle und KH von Audio-Technica, Sennheiser und AKG im Geschäft getestet und mich letztendlich für die DT 770 entschieden, in der 250 Ohm-Variante, die stationär mit einem FiiO E10k an meinem PC benutzt werden. Die Verarbeitung wirkt super, und am Rande alles "Made in Germany". Langzeiterfahrungen liegen noch nicht vor, wobei ich in der Preisklasse schon etwas an Qualität erwarte. Im Bedarfsfall werde ich diese Bewertung entsprechend anpassen. Der Haltebügel ist aus Metall, die Muschelaußenseiten bestehen aus Kunststoff, der trotzdem wertig und stabil wirkt. Da riecht und knarzt nichts nach dem Auspacken. Dasselbe gilt für die Ummantelung des Bügels, die Teile sollen sich - laut Herstellerangabe - alle problemlos auswechseln lassen. In der 250 Ohm-Variante hat der BD nur die Variante mit Spiralkabel, wie man es von schurgebundenen Telefonen kennt. Das sollte man vorher beachten, falls man die KH auch mal unterwegs nutzen möchte. Vom Tragekomfort bin ich begeistert und finde die Velour-Ohrpolster für Sessions von 2+ Stunden angenehmer als die Polsterung bei den 880- und 990er Modellen. Ich habe mittelgroße Ohren und außer der bauartbedingten Wärmeentwicklung, gerade bei höheren Temperaturen, gibt es keinerlei Probleme. Da rutscht nichts beim Bewegen des Kopfes, ebenfalls keine Störgeräusche. Gelegentlich mal die Lauscher ablegen hilft gut für den Luftaustausch, zumal die KH gut die Außenwelt abschirmen. Nun zum Klang: Exakte Bass-, Mitten- und Höhenanalysen fallen mangels Erfahrung heraus. Insgesamt bin ich von der Audioqualität vollkommen überzeugt, auch nach der Gewöhnung an einen Kopfhörer, der nun die Songs deutlich klarer wiedergibt und man Fehler in der Aufnahme wahrnimmt, was zu einem kleinen Luxusproblem verkommt. Da heißt es nun, bessere Audioquellen suchen. Es sei nur gesagt, dass mir die 770er einen kleinen Tick stärker bassbetont auffallen, ohne dass es wie bei vielen günstigeren KH massiv verwaschen klingt. Trotzdem hört man das restliche Klangspektrum klar heraus. Das hat mir beim Custom One Pro wiederum nicht gefallen, der ebenfalls von Beyerdynamic gefertigt wird. Da ich bevorzugt Rock, Schwermetall und elektronische Musik höre, komme ich da auf meine Kosten und kann nun endlich Hi-Hats klarer und andere Instrumente deutlicher heraushören. Bei Klassik (Chopin, weniger bekannte Musik von Tschaikowski) dagegen finde ich diese Ohren nicht ganz so gelungen, da würde ich neutralere Kopfhörer empfehlen oder zumindest welche, die die Bassfrequenzen etwas weniger betonen. Wobei auch mir klar ist, dass keiner wirklich vollkommen ungefärbt die Musik wiedergibt. Das Ganze wird einem PC mit dem o. g. FiiO (externe Soundkarte und Kopfhörerverstärker im Einen) betrieben, da das Mainboard mit dem ALC892, siehe diverse Foren inkl. dem (deutschsprachigen) Hifi-Forum und anderen, nicht unbedingt den besten Onboard-Soundchip hat. Interessanterweise habe ich mit den DT 770 mit 250 Ohm an meinem sehr günstigem Android-Smartphone (Moto E2) bereits ohne KHV einen ordentliche Lautstärke und höre auch dort mehr an Details heraus. Ob der FiiO an diesem Smartphone noch mehr Qualitätssprünge mit sich bringt, weiß ich mangels USB on the go-Kabel nicht, das aber nur am Rande und natürlich ohne Einfluss auf die Rezension. Fazit: Ich finde die Kopfhörer von der Audioqualität für fast alle Genres großartig und ordentlich verarbeitet. Kann ihn in Sachen Preis-/Leistung absolut empfehlen. Man sollte nach Möglichkeit vorher probehören, zumindest verschiedene Modelle desselben Herstellers, idealerweise auch die anderen Hersteller einbeziehen, da sich die Hörgewohnheiten schließlich unterscheiden. Und etwas Zeit mitbringen beim Testen, da die Ohren sich erstmalig an gute Kopfhörer gewöhnen müssen, etwa falls jemand bisher nur stark basslastige Lauscher kennen sollte. Meiner Meinung nach macht man mit dem DT 770, zumindest in der 250 Ohm-Version, als Allrounder nichts falsch.

los mios me llegaron antes y logicamente toda una sorpresa para bien,servicio de entrega de primera, el paquete intacto todo en su lugar, ya puestos se puede trabajar horas sin problemas gracias a la calidad de sus orejeras aterciopeladas en este caso color gris los hacen comodos, la diadema tambien es acolchonada y muy comoda, sin duda beyerdynamic DT-770-PRO-32, 250 ohms de mis concentidos, en el estudio me permite trabajar cómodamente y de manera precisa, lógicamente trabajo con diferentes marcas y versiones pues necesitas comparar tu monitoreo pero sin duda la calidad de materiales, asi como la confiabilidad de su sonido a nivel profesional hace que los legendarios DT-770-PRO-32,sigan siendo lo que siempre han sido,toda una leyenda, cada frecuencia en su lugar con una imagen stereofonica abierta que te permite reconocer cada instrumento con balance bien definido captando cada detalle de tu mezcla , un tip para los casos en donde no necesariamente se usen en estudio de audio pero se conecten a dispositivos moviles, ipod, tablets, etc.,las versiones en 32 o 80 ohm, serian la recomendación,sin duda una herramienta de escucha confiable en todos sentidos que recomiendo !.
