Meet The Sloths [DVD]

A beautiful DVD full of interesting information about Sloths - my wife's favourite animal. Each episode contains a mix of day-to-day life at the Costa Rica Sloth Sanctuary, sloth facts, the characters of the individual sloths and harsher truths about life as a sloth.I will say that not every episode is cheerful fun - by its very nature life at a rescue centre is not all fun and games and we do see sick and injured sloths and sloths do pass away during the program, but it is handled with sensitivity and the greatest of respect and the episodes are balanced on the whole. If your kids are sloth fans I suggest watching first yourself to decide if every episode is suitable for younger or sensitive children.Importantly is is made clear why many sloths that end up at the sanctuary cannot then be released into the wild, especially the babies - this is significant as at a glance it can look a little like they're keeping a lot of wild sloths in cages as pets! This could not be further from the truth, and they are working to release Sloths whenever possible.

This is a brill dvd - the staff at the centre are amazing and the sloths are adorable! Such dedication to their care and lots of info about sloths.

My daughter suggested this DVD as a gift for my granddaughters. They had all seen the series of Meet the Sloths on the Animal Planet television show, and they wanted a copy of their own, so I ordered this for them. The whole family loves it! I've watched a few of the segments too, and they are very entertaining and delightful. Very educational for children learning about nature and honoring wild animals (in this case, the sloths).You will be pleased with this!

I adored this when it was shown on TV and now I get to enjoy their antics whenever I like. Guaranteed to cheer and chill you out no matter what kind of day you are having. This will be watched and watched again. Bought two as gifts as well and they love them. Fun, educational and with a really big Ahhh factor, it ticks all boxes.

It was excellent though it seems that some of the episodes that I saw on Animal Planet were either missing or there are special episodes or that there is a season two?

This is so good if you are a fan of these beautiful creatures. This DVD set is tough to find and the one I bought was used, but was in A+ condition. Very happy with the purchase.

Ich habe einige Clips aus dieser DVD im Internet gesehen und habe mich direkt in Faultiere verliebt. Endlich die komplette Serie von "Meet the Sloths" zu besitzen macht mich unglaublich glücklich. Ich habe meine besten Freunde gezwungen sie gemeinsam mit mir anzuschauen. Jetzt können Sie zumindest verstehen weshalb ich Faultiere so liebe. Die DVD ist voll von liebevollen und auch dramatischen Storys über diese friedlichen Tiere. Ich kann Sie echt nur empfehlen!!

I love sloths and have done for years - way before they became popular in recent years with all sort of merchandise. They are so interesting from an evolutionary point of view. When other animals evolved to become faster, they evolved to become slower. They have ecosystems living in their fur. They have two more neck veterbrae than other mammals. They can swim better than they can walk. This documentary gives a beautiful insight into these amazing creatures through the day-to-day life of a sloth sanctuary in Costa Rica. There is precious little out there in books or documentaries about sloths. So this DVD is a very welcome and wonderful introduction which is both informative and lightly entertaining. I hope that it raises awareness about these amazing creatures and I hope we can do more to preserve their habitats.
