Fantastic value, long lasting and reliable
If you've got the space in your backpack and you're planning to be cooking for a good few days then one of these canisters will be an excellent choice. And if you plan to repeat the experience then buying this multipack makes perfect sense. I use these in my campervan which has a removable kitchen setup that isn't equipped for gas (my setup is electric), but one of these with a portable camping stove is a great back-up when needed (usually in winter when the solar panels can't adequately recharge the power station). For safety I store the canister and stove in a 50 cal ammo box which has a carbon monoxide detector attached to the lid. The supply seems clean and consistent, and I've only had issues in the coldest of winters but nothing that some patience and body heat can't solve. If looked after then these canisters will last for years, and if you buy a refill adapter to transfer gas between canisters as they run down then you'll get the most out of them. But the price seems to be much better value than alternatives so why not try them?

Delivery disappointing
The product is fine, a re order. The delivery was a disaster very disappointing and wasn’t till I chased Amazon that the canisters eventually arrived.

Handy compact gas canister
I’ve used the Coleman C500 gas cartridges on multiple camping trips now, and they’ve never let me down. This 6-pack is super convenient and great value if you camp often or like to keep extras on hand. Each cartridge contains a butane/propane mix (70/30) which works really well, even in cooler temperatures. I’ve cooked in early spring and windy conditions without any issues. The canisters screw easily onto my stove (standard EN417 fitting) and feel safe and secure. 🔥 Performance-wise, they burn clean and strong. I usually get about 1.5 to 2 hours of burn time per canister, depending on how high I run the flame. 🛠️ The build quality is solid, and I appreciate the safety valve design—it makes storing and transporting them worry-free. ✅ Pros: • Works great in cold weather • Easy to connect and disconnect • Strong, steady flame • Lightweight and compact • Great value in a 6-pack ❌ Cons: • Not the cheapest option, but the reliability makes it worth it If you’re planning a camping, backpacking, or fishing trip and need a reliable gas source for your stove, this is a no-brainer. Highly recommended.

Extra and the rest
When I said I was going to write a review of these Alison said to me that, and I quote "what can you write about that? It's a tin with gas in - just leave it" and promptly stormed off to the pub. To be fair there is not a lot you can say about a tin with gas in - except about these particular tins which are actually referred to as 'Cartridges', which is derived from the Latin word 'Carta' which means paper or card. This then resulted in the Italian word Cartoccio meaning 'roll of paper' or paper bag, then the French started to refer to the same as a 'Cartouche’, and we finally arrive at the word cartridge in the Queen’s English. I call them canisters myself as I think it's more accurate. They are quite chunky which is because they are bigger than the standard pocket variety but they last a lot longer. Which is good. In my opinion. I have used these with my newly purchased Lixada Outdoor Camping Cooking Big Power Windproof Gas Stove Butane Burner Portable Foldable Split Furnace 3200W from TOMSHOP for the princely sum of £15.99 and delivered by the postman (not Kevin Costner). I say ‘these’, but in actual fact I have yet to exhaust one of them. As with all new purchases me and Matt (or Matt and I) like to put things through their paces, and at our bespoke testing facility (Matt’s back garden) we were able to combine our tests of the heating attributes of the aforementioned Lixada stove with testing the stamina and effectiveness of these canisters as a fuel portability and delivery medium. To that end, almost continuously, we heated a 415g tin of Heinz Beans with Sausages, a 395g tin of Cross & Blackwell Hunger Breaks All Day Breakfast, followed by individual tins of Heinz Macaroni Cheese, Spaghetti Bolognese, Ravioli and Spaghetti Hoops (with AND without sausages) in Tomato sauce (all about 415g), a 400g tin of Stagg Silverado Chilli Con Carne and a 400g tin of Morrison’s Beef Stew and Dumplings. After a quick toilet break of about ten minutes we then also tackled a 500g tin of Heinz Big Soup Mighty Steak and Onion. Throughout the entire test the canister continued to pump pressured flammable gases of some kind into the ever hungry stove, which burnt fiercely to produce heat. It was exactly the results we were hoping for. Except for the state of the pan – I now need a new one. Anyway these last forever (not literally but they last long enough to heat enough food to exhaust an entire Morrisons Super Toastie White Loaf 800g for toast). To be fair I reckon if you turned it upside down with a stove attached it would probably have enough power to break free of earth's gravity and knock out an approaching asteroid, but we can't test that in Matt's garden as we haven't got any high altitude monitoring equipment. I reckon if you were a tramp you could easily take the chill of an underpass or hovel for an evening and these come in packs of six – bargain!! I still have five full ones left so I reckon I will not need to claim any heating allowance any time soon.

Works well when cold.
Excellent product, the 70/30 mix makes sure that the heaters work well in really cold conditions.
