My perfect cup Finally
I think I own one of every travel cup made BUT this is THE one I’ve searched for !! I’ve drank my coffee through a straw for years but had to leave the cup lid open to keep my straw in which cooled my coffee BUT this cup is made that I can very easily twist it a small amount and it’s closed with no leaking a all and keeps my coffee hot a lot longer !! Appears to be made of quality maters and doesn’t add a taste to my coffee which is always a bonus . Now I can drink my perfect coffee in my perfect cup Thx

Favorite cup ever
I love the design. Seals perfectly. I love the double function of having a straw, but also being able to sip it. So far no problems with leaks. With all Cantigas, it’s very durable and it’s easy to clean.

This tumbler has been my fav for years!
Somehow, someway, sometime at least 5 years ago I acquired one of these tumblers. I cannot for the life of me remember how I ended up with one, but it became my favorite tumbler!! I don’t go anywhere without it. Switching it between sip mode and staw mode is incredibly easy, especially if you clean it the right way (which they have a YouTube video for instructions on how to do so). I will admit the straw can have a bit of resistance, but I solved this problem easily by throwing the straw out and replacing it with a bigger straw. It’s leak proof (make sure the lid is tight). I don’t use it for hot drinks, but for cold drinks. My tumbler stays in my car on summer days while I’m at work, and there is still ice in it when I get off. I left this tumbler in a restaurant on accident and freaked out- I’ve had it for over 5 years!! Luckily I got it back, but I ordered another so I will never be without in a situation like that again. That’s how much I love this tumbler lol. The back up tumbler I ordered is a sunbeam (white?) I think. The picture looks a little better than the color in person. In person color looks mostly white with a very subtle sunbeam if you’re looking at it the right way.

Very narrow straw
Argh! The 24 ounce Contigo Autoclose Shake and Go tumbler I bought six years ago had to be thrown out. Somehow the inner wall cracked and water got into the space between the two plastic walls. I was so disappointed Contigo no longer makes that tumbler any more. I replaced the broken container with this steel bottle. I only plan to use it to drink water. I am not concerned with how well it keeps beverages hot. I am equally unconcerned with how well it keeps beverages cold. I drink water too quickly for that to be an issue. Therefore, I am unable to comment on how well the container maintains the temperature of the beverage. My biggest negative comment has to do with the straw. In order to be able to seal the container the straw inside the bottle is rigid with a flexible straw attachment at the end. When the lid is turned to seal the container the flexible straw bends down into the compartment in the lid. This type of straw is more challenging to clean with the narrow brush I bought to tackle this job. An additional problem is that the straw is very narrow resulting in tiny sips. So I removed the straw that came with the container and replaced it with a rigid plastic straw I bought years ago. Most of the plastic straws in the house did not fit the lid opening. But one set was narrow enough to fit while still allowing for bigger sips of water. When their straw is in place the container is leakproof. But if I remove my plastic straw and close the container it is no longer leakproof due to the missing flexible silicon straw. That is a trade off I am willing to live with. Use the provided straw and it won’t be an issue.A minor issue is that the container does not sit completely in the cup holder of my car. It seems secure enough even if the bottom of the container does not rest on the bottom of the cup holder.I do have concerns that the mechanism that changes the lid from cold/straw to hot/no straw is where a future issue might occur. As I will only rarely need to seal the container this is a minor concern for me. But if you plan to frequently switch between different temperature beverages or need to seal the container this might become a problem. If something on this container is going to break the lid mechanism is the likely place. In conclusion, I do like the container- but not as much as the one Contigo discontinued. (And yes, I did pay the extra money for the “chocolate truffle” color. Five stars for the color). If this steel water bottle lasts as long as the one that just cracked I will be satisfied with my purchase. But should they again start manufacturing the 24 ounce Autoclose tumbler I will immediately switch back to that one. And buy two in case they decide to discontinue it a second time.Update: For the first time since buying this container I added ice to the water. Last night I headed upstairs to read in bed before going to sleep. Ten hours later and I just took a sip of the water. The water is ice cold since some of the ice has not yet melted! Well that impressed me!Update 2: I just got ho e and refilled my water bottle. I was completely shocked when I noticed the last of the ice cubes were still there 13.5 hours after after I added them to my water at 8 pm last night.

Definitely Recommend
I love this tumbler. I bought this to bring my coffee to school and work with me without having to hold it in my hand. I had tried other bottles but even putting them in the side pocket of my bag, they would spill and leak out of the straw hole. This one is absolutely leak proof from my experience. I have even tried holding the bottle completely upside down for a while and it has not leaked at all. I love that there is also a straw option for drinking, as I have not been able to find something leakproof with a straw before this. It has also been able to keep my drink cold all day (I have not tried with a hot drink yet). The only slight inconvenience is cleaning it. The lid has a few parts that come apart for cleaning (I'm sure you can probably scrub it put together and be fine tho) which were a little hard to figure out at first. I looked up a YouTube video (from the Contigo channel) and have now gotten the hang of it and it is not too bad once you're used to it. Definitely recommend!

The straw is closed with plastic
Bad straw. It is closed with plastic where it passes through the lid.Update on 10/20/2024: I just got the replacement cup from Contigo. Although thier customer service is easy to deal with, the replacement cup has the exact same problem. The straw is closed with plastic. Looks like a manufacturing defect.

Best Travel Mug
Before I found this mug I’d been switching back and forth from a yeti for cold drinks and a contego for hot. Now I don’t have to do that! I wish the straw was a little bit bigger than, the small opening makes drinks comes out very slow. Other than that this is a wonderful mug.
