smoother than the liquid, genuine coffee-like roasty taste. Better than decaf.
I discovered the liquid form of roasted chicory root drink at a ukranian market and kinda fell in love. It's woodsy, subtly sweet, strong, a little chocolatey, it just has a somewhat strong bitter taste that hits at the very end, which takes some getting used to, but it really does feel like a substitute to coffee. It doesn't taste like coffee, but as a strong, dark, roasted beverage, i'd take this over decaf 9/10 times. It's even good mixed a bit into coffee. Dissolves in hot water (haven't tried cold) instantaneously. I got some of the powder here because I can't seem to find the liquid stuff online, and found about 5 or 6 teaspoons (measuring teaspoons) is correct for a good strong 400-500ml cup But I also had an idea and dissolved about a half cup of it in 2l of water and refrigerated it, and WOW. it's amazing iced. Almost all the bitterness is pulled away, just like cold brew coffee. I'm actually going to try mixing this with some instant espresso for a more flavorful cold brew. Overall, good value too. I'm buying more of it right now. I think it's a bit less strong than the liquid extract, but it's still plenty strong and overall very well balanced, so I'll stick to the powder (which is easier to measure anyways)

Perfect Coffee Alternative
A wonderful coffee substitute. The flavor is very coffee like, I have it every morning and it dissolves perfectly in hot water. I add some stevia and a splash of almond milk creamer. It is definitely bitter, but it tastes just like coffee to me. Iโm not a huge coffee drinker so maybe someone else would tell the difference, but the little bit of creamer makes it really feel like a coffee. I do enjoy the taste without creamer as well with a small amount of stevia. I also enjoy drinking it knowing there are some health benefits to chicory root, it makes me feel good to drink it. I also make it iced after Iโve mixed it in water and made sure it dissolved. You could also add some instant coffee for some caffeine. Iโm ordering again.

Fabulous
It's the consistency of instant coffee and works exactly the same. Typically in the morning after drinking 17 oz of water with vitamin C and MSM, i make a nice warm cup of the chickery. If I have Maple syrup I might add a little bit of that sometimes I add a little coconut powder. And it feels really nice on my stomach, if I have to hydrated mushrooms then I powderize those. And keep that in a separate container , and I might mix the two and make a yummy , chicory and mushroom morning beverage. And I do keep coffee grounds in an old-fashioned glass container from the 70s, so I use the grounds and the chicory and I mix everything together with a little baking soda, I mix everything together that way, when I wanna make real coffee, I still get some of the nice health benefits. And I don't have to worry about fussing with everything every single time. The size of bag is very well worth it.\n For the price point, the convenience and the ease of preparing a cup. If you have your kettle, it literally takes within a couple minutes to have a nice warm beverage and you don't have to clean up all the coffee grounds that's a big bonus. This is definitely a product. I am going to keep in the cupboard. This would be good to take off for camping trips, hiking, any of that stuff, you could even buy those little, tiny individual plastic ziploc bags that they make for kind of like the Popsicle bags and you could fill up smaller ones with this. So, you know it's like 1 or 2 servings. So when you are out camping you just dump and you don't have to carry such a large bag with you. The smell is wonderful. The flavor is great. There's no bad aftertaste.\nNo grit just smooth drinking.

Great product!
I'm from Ukraine and in the '70s and '80s and early '90s all over Russia and Ukraine they have these massive containers that get hooked up to the car and get pulled anywhere in the city and during the summer they unhook these containers all over the place and they have usually one person selling this very tasty refreshing summer drink called "KVAS" made from bread and yeast, some make it from other ingredients and I learned that it can also be made using chicory root powder that dissolves instantly and turns out it tastes exactly like KVAS tasted back in the days. I highly recommend trying it. Here's the recipe, it's very simple and I am pretty confident most people especially kids will love this drink ๐ Take 3 Liters of water and warm it up to room temperature Make sure it doesn't exceed 85ยฐ F and add one heaping tablespoon of chicory powder, then one non-heaping teaspoon of citric acid, about 200g of sugar but you can add more or less to reach your desired sweetness level, and after you mix everything in so everything is dissolved, the last ingredient is a teaspoon of dry yeast. Mix it in and leave it in a warm place or on the counter for 3 to 4 hours until you notice a little bubbles forming and a little foam is visible at the top which is a clear indication that fermentation process had started at which point you just bottle it up and put in the refrigerator preferably overnight and then it's ready to drink. When drinking don't shake the bottle but let the sediment stay at the bottom. The final product will be the color of black tea which would be brown and you'll taste bubbles and when you open the bottle after it set in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours, when you open the bottle you should hear a hissing sound from gas which is CO2 gas accumulating and that's exactly what you want to happen which means the drink is ready and the recipe worked like it should. Wait until you try it because it tastes much better than kombucha and everyone will like it especially kids. Enjoy!
