This is the best picture hanger wire! It is strong and pliable and gives your paintings a professional look.

I had used two sections of this product on 2 separate paintings and I am happy with its build quality and ease of use (twisting it into position). I suspect it should last a long long time but only time will tell. I amgoing to use this wire to replace all my old non-coated wires.

This was my first time using coated hanging wire for framing projects after hearing good things from others and this stuff is great! The coating makes it much more comfortable to work with and it also provides a much more quality finish which I appreciate. My only regret was only getting a small spool of it to test, I will be ordering more.

I couldn’t find picture hanging wire of this quality in any big box store, harder to find than it should be. This wire is rust resistant because it is composed of twisted stainless steel strands covered in clear vinyl. Usually stainless wire resists being malleable, so it is usually a real b*tch to bend/twist, & can even perforate or cut fingers. Not this wire, it can bend & twist while still having the corrosion resistant properties of stainless steel. Highly recommend, especially if you live near the ocean and/or want your picture hanging to last.

After much research, I decided on this gauge of vinyl-coated picture hanging wire. It was AWESOME! Easy to work with, etc. The pictures that I wired myself looked better than ones I have had done professionally. This is the one to buy. :)

This is the absolute best wire for hanging art unless you have REALLY heavy pictures. The plastic coating keeps you and the buyer from cutting your fingers from those pesky little tiny wires twisted in those other kinds of hanging wires that you can never quite crimp all the way when you cut them. This spool even comes with very clear photographs as to how to bend this wire back on itself so that it won't come undone, for those of us artists who never quite mastered the surgeon's knot necessary to secure traditional framer's wire. I, however, was very disappointed in the packing job, as this spool comes with two holes along the edge so that you can twist the cut end back into them. My spool came broken on both sides because of the packing job...:( The wire isn't going to unravel like a spool of thread, as the wire is stiff, but that's why I only gave this product 4 stars instead of the 5 stars it deserves. Come on guys in the packing department.... get your act(s) together!

Coated wire is much easier to handle than uncoated. It's easier to cut as you don't get poked or cut by the strands. It's easier to twist as the wire doesn't easily cut into your skin. I find, especially with small frames, that it has a tendency to stay straight on the wall. It's just better and barely more expensive.

I did try #4 but for my purposes I found it would be too light BUT my review applies to both #4 and #5 (just different weight bearing). Have tried several hanging wires and honestly nothing touches the quality of Softstrand with vinyl casing. These wires are flexible and easy to wrap by hand (protective vinyl casing makes a huge difference) and extremely durable. A final pinch with the pliers to close off the end and voila! My paintings and framed photos say "thank you" as I have no concerns about the wire being too weak, fraying, snapping. Customer service is oustanding. Highly recommend - and remember this wire is worth the slightly longer delivery time.

Great for hanging paintings

I used this with a couple eye hooks to keep some new kitchen cabinet doors from swinging open too far and hitting other doors and handles. i didnt need so much but im sure it will come in handy for picture hanging
