Love the lampshade once it was built. Turned out much bigger ( bought 30pcs for £8 and a few pennies on amazon.co.uk), The only downside is that the instructions are awful - that is to say they are severely lacking. What you get is a picture of the finished item ( 2 choices for 30 pieces - spherical or oblong), a picture of the pieces laid out in a row and then some confusing and irrelevant text regarding the smaller shades and that is it! You do , however, get pictures of all the lampshades, so you could theoritically have a go at all of them, using the 30 piece XL kit. Once I gave up trying to follow the picture and winged it, it took about 40 minutes to put together, and I love it. If you were good at puzzles or can decipher the image perhaps less time? Seriously thinking of buying other kits to make other shapes in other rooms. If you like puzzles, this is even more fun that just getting a beautiful lampshade at the end. I bought it with prime so next day delivery. It arrives as a slim pack- about A5 size of 30 pieces all the same. Please note there is a FRONT and a BACK - line up the pieces with the big hook on the top left and that is the front. This is important as some other designs use both front and back facing pieces, whereas the sphere 30 piece I went for was all front facing so much easier. hope this helps. Patience is needed otherwise I would say suitable for any age, no sharp edges, very difficult I would imagine to break any pieces as fairly thick polypropelene, so if you have a patient child - go for it, but if your child is likely to get frustrated, this might not be for them - same goes for adults too ;-)

The instructions are not worth the paper they are printed on, picture far too small and poor quality. After about an hour & a half I got it put together without instructions. The plastic is static so literally attracts every bit of dust or hair! Once together it looked quite attractive but you have to reopen it to get it over the light fitting, that where it all goes pear shaped and it starts to ping apart, after 30 mins of trying it was thrown in anger, it collapsed like a deck of cards so it went in the bin!

Some reviewers say it is a puzzle rather than lampshade, and indeed I would also agree with this. Instruction: As a printed instruction, I think it already did the best to describe how the lampshade should be assembled. If the manufacturer or seller can provide a video on this, it would be much easier to understand. Assemble: In the beginning, I also can't fully understand what I need to do. Once I strictly follow the main rules mentioned in the instruction (e.g. straight edge must be placed under the curved edge of another piece), I am starting to know how it should be assembled. Installation: There is no space prepared for the lamp cord, so you need think of your way to put the lampshade on. Instead of opening a 5-pieces joint as instructed on the booklet, I find that it is easier to deal with the 3-pieces joint. Another way I use is removing one piece of puzzle and place a lamp shade adapter ring. It will not be a perfect fit, but the lampshade will not fall to the ground as long as you don't touch the lampshade with some force. Other facts: The instruction mentioned 15 different designs you can assemble. Just 2 of them use all 30 pieces of puzzle. In other words, the lampshade size will be smaller for other designs, and you may not be able to fit the lamp in the lampshade if the light bulb is too large. Overall: Despite the difficulties mentioned, the lampshade is really beautiful. That's why I still give 4 stars. I bought 2 more after I built the first one.

Though I must admit, it took a few attempts to assemble it – I guess you could say I turned it into a 'puzzleception'! However, I must mention that the included instructions left much to be desired. They were vague and unclear, making it difficult to figure out the assembly process at first. Fortunately, I turned to YouTube for installation videos, which provided much-needed guidance and made the process much smoother.

Very stylish ! I had to reset it 3 times to get something nice. I agree, the instructions aren’t well written. XL size ~30 com - looks even larger!

All I can say is ..WOW ! .What a beautiful product It is fiddly to put together but following the you tube instructions type in exactly what it is and you can't go wrong .This was the missing piece from my room it's fun and satisfying to put together a bit fiddly attaching to the light fitting but well worth it and the price is really good for such an amazing affect with the light switched on and off ...have fun with this it's so cool .

If I could have got this actually built I’d have said it was good value... however it had to go back before I systematically dismembered my living room furniture in frustration. I’ve bought and successfully built a few shade kits so no novice.... but this one was designed to induce rage. The instructions are poor. The licking mechanism is poorer still And the layers spring apart before getting any to join. Plus.... I discovered half way thtouhg attempted build that the lower aperture would be too small too insert a bulb when finished so short of building it onto the light pendant while up a ladder or removing the fitting ... it was never going to work anyway. Bearing in mind it was close to impossible to complete while comfortably seated then it had to go back. Thank at least for prime free returns.

Lamp shade for people good for puzzle! This is a nice and good quality and this is plastic, not paper kind I ordered the M size and that is good side which approx 1 feet ball shape. Not heavy and very light no extra load on the lamp. I see some people said it is hard to assemble, but it needs some talent I would say.

I have bought 2 sizes for the balcony. The lamps looks great. Though it took a while to put it together. A real puzzel, good for a brain work 😊

Very stupid puzzle. The introduction is very insufficient. Even you search a Youtube video to understand how to do that, still you will find that is very difficult to make it stable because of the poor quality! Even you finish, you will realize it is totally not a good lampshade because it is not transparent enough!!! It will make your light become very dark!!!!!

Las instrucciones que vienen incluidas son demasiado complicadas, estuve a punto de regresar la pantalla, pero encontré un tutorial en youtube y todo cambió! En 6 minutos la arman (obvio yo iba poniéndole pausas) pero lo logré!!! Yo la use como pantalla para una lámpara vieja que tengo y quedó increíble! Valió la pena la armada y por 300 pesos tengo una lámpara de pie “nueva”!
