Not the most flavoursome (as in strength) root beer I have tasted, but it was drinkable all the same and at £7.50 for 12 bottles it was good value for money. I think I was lucky with a stock clearance. Chilled it was a pleasant drink, but throw in a dark spiced rum and it quickly took over coke as my mixer! I would definitely buy it again if the price ever drops back down, but not until it does. Be warned. You will be asked to provide photo-ID upon delivery. It is a soft-drink that does not require ID, but for some reason you have to provide it with this one (not with other brands though!)

This may be the greatest taste root beer available. I consume large amounts. This brand is the most natural and free of artificial and processing elements.

I found this root beer tremendously disappointing and absolutely cannot recommend it. This is far more a medicinal, liquorice-flavoured soda than it is a traditional root beer. Even as someone who throughly enjoys many anise-based drinks such as pastis, French wormwood absinthe, and sambuca, this was simply not enjoyable. The liquorice component has a commendably natural, not synthetic, character, but there is simply far, far too much of it, at the expense of subtler flavours. That may sound great to some; if that doesn’t appeal to you, however, or if you are looking for a more traditional root beer like Virgil’s, A&W, IBC, Barq’s, or indeed for something in the vein of artisanal American-style examples, steer clear of this. Classic North American root beers done well have a flavour profile structured around a creamy, slightly woodsy heart of sarsaparilla, vanilla, wintergreen, birch and sassafras, with other influences such as liquorice playing an understated but harmonious role. This drink, on the other hand, screams a single note: instead of a pleasant medley of influences, the autocratic liquorice shouts down everything else. A clumsy, lopsided blend and among the worst examples I’ve ever tasted, I am sorry to say this went down the sink. As a sweet liquorice fizzy drink, one could not do better; as a root beer, one could hardly do worse.
