HIKARI First Bites Semi-Floating Fry Food for Pets, 0.35-Ounce

I recently bred some Guppy fish and have a tank full of 'miniature' babies! This product is working out to be one of the best products I tried to feed these babies as the product 'floats' on the surface and doesn't sink to the bottom of the tank, allowing the babies ti investigate the food on the surface of the water. The product package was small so I thought that it would be insufficient but when scattering a small amount on the surface of the water I realised that the product really will last for the duration of the growth of the babies until they can eat 'proper' aquatic food. The package of the product is seal-able, so you can make sure it stays fresh and can be long lasting if you choose to breed more fish. Happy to recommend.

I've used this to feed my guppy and platy fry over the years and with a new set of fry I turned to it again. The perfect size for tiny mouths. They wouldnt take crushed up flakes but this, they will and you can keep an eye on the fry who dont rush to eat. Highly recommend it 👌

My fry had JUST become semi-free swimmers before I had to go away for work for 2 nights so I set this powder up in my autofeeder for them in HOPES they would eat the powder and survive until I returned. I fed them the powder just as they were finishing their yolk sack to get them used to the fact I was introducing food....and they learned it was food and managed to survive off of the powder until I returned. 100% recommend. It's fine power (fine fine powder) which will last you at minimum...50 fry batched 😂

Purchased for my Galaxy Rasbora fry, very fine powder so have to be very careful on how much you use, I simply stick a cocktail stick in the powder then dip and stir in the tank... fry come right to it when I put it in, so must like it... Only downside is had to repackage (as read this is one of the big downsides), as the powder can leak and the reseal zipper didn't work properly due to being full with the fine powder food, from the supplier storage and transit. Good for smaller fry, but would say livebearer fry should be fed on a larger size feed, as this is minute.

Tends to create a gel when sprinkled on the water, which is not ideal. Disappointing, as this is a recognised brand.

It's original. Trust me once I ordered and it arrived I didn't use it and used some other foods in one of the tanks. Suddenly my fish had some babies and I added them to one of my tanks. I started using this food from day 1 on the new babies. The fish started growing more colourful and big immediately compared to my other fish. The other babies who were eating a different food were in a tank of the same size, exact water type, same breed, same heater, same light and temperature. I was stunned. I'm not a seller of fish. I'm a Hobbyist.

This food is ideal for newly hatched fry. The tiny particles are easy for them to eat and they float just long enough before slowly sinking. My guppy and danio fry grew fast and showed good health using this. No water clouding and the container lasts a long time. A must have for any breeder or nano tank.
