Brooks EnglandB17 Bike Saddle - Handmade Leather Bike Seat (Steel, Titanium, Copper)

Classic saddle and very happy I bought it. Though very hard on first few rides - felt like the saddle was made from wood(!), I’ve been applying Proofride every couple of days on the top and plenty on the underside. This has softened it up nicely. I’ve also taken this bike out for lots of short rides (about 5-6 miles) and after 6 weeks of breaking the saddle in, I’d be happy to go for longer rides now. I’ve found i can loop my bike lock under the rails and secure it when i leave it unattended. Following this, I’m now looking to replace the saddle on my road bike.

I bought it as a present and it did not disappoint and it was delivered as promised which was great.

I was cynical about buying the saddle because some people say this has a minimum of a 500 mile break in period. However, I need not have worried. Although it feels rock hard straight out the box, i found it extremely comfortable on my first ride. Completed a 15 mile ride and experienced no issues. It was much comfortable than the charge spoon saddle I was previously using.

I love the saddle. My seat bones have already made an impression after 4 x 25km rides and getting more comfortable every ride. I do ride with proper padded cycling shorts. Went for a relaxed ride with my wife wearing jeans and this is a no-no!!! Maybe after a lot more riding may get better

Well I have actually done the 1000 miles on this saddle it says it needs to break in. And now another 500 more. I now never have any discomfort riding up to 80 miles a day. I have to say, the saddle has no padding but it fits to and pampers the bottom

The tension pin has snapped after nearly 2 years of use. Getting Brooks to reply to my online form or pick up the phone is impossible. Their website takes you round in circles before dead-ending. I bought a new pin from another firm, but it is impossible to fit. So my £100 saddle which is supposed to last a lifetime and get better with age, is now kaput. Not happy.
