Poor quality item unfortunately. The faux-laquer (dark brown) on the dip pen itself already had a hairline crack when it arrived, new out of the packet. The brown 'laquer' then just flakes off. Ironically, the wood underneath would have probably been much better in its natural state (or varnished), rather than the manufacturer insiting on this silly plastic coating that flakes off.Nibs are OK but is early days.I would not buy again and am likely to return item.

Nice package item it's all that you want to practice calligraphy more than pleased with this item.

Simply put - SO VERY much nicer than that Speeball rubbish!I can't tell if the pen is wood or plastic - if it's plastic then it's the best I've seen; it has a velvety feel to it and is comfortable to hold.The nibs feel wonderful in use and the little tin is sweet as well as useful.

Ideal for any calligrapher

Great product. I like the little tin that came with the pack, it holds all the other nibs that are not being used, keeping them safe. Positive recommendation on this product.

Exactly as advertisedd

I'm a beginner in calligraphy so can't really comment on the quality of the nibs compared to other types but I returned my original version to find the same issue still existed- a hairline crack in the nib holder! No good at all! I've ended up buying a new nib holder (which cost me under £2) because I like the variety of the nibs and just LOVE the little tin!
