Xiaomi's smart home ecosystem has a new addition today! The Mi Robot Vacuum is a highly intelligent home cleaning device with 12 different sensors. The Laser Distance Sensor ( LDS ) scans its surroundings 360 degree, 1800 times per second, to map out the interiors of your house. The three processors track its movements in real-time, and the Simultaneous Localization and Mapping ( SLAM ) algorithm calculates the most efficient route for cleaning. Using the Mi Home app, you can switch on and remotely control the robot, change cleaning modes and set schedules, Additionally, a powerful Nidec brushless DC motor, a main brush with adjustable height and a 5200mAh Li-ion battery for up to 2.5 hours of cleaning, attractive in price and quality, all these make it stand out of the market.

Top two purchases made on Amazon
I have laminate floors. I try to keep all my cables and books off the floor. This hoover kicks off just after I leave for work.As someone who likes walking barefoot around the house - this hoover is awesome. This - and my Kindle Fire - are the top two purchases I've made on Amazon in the last 7 years .

Impressed with this one!
Very impressive product! Tracking is really efficient and it maneuvers around objects really well! The app is only in Chinese but you can find conversions online to figure most of it out. Hoping for an English conversion soon to make it perfect.

This robot is amazing! It is the best Robot vacuum I have ...
This robot is amazing! It is the best Robot vacuum I have ever tested by far. Much better than the Roomba 980 or the Neato Botvac Connected at 1/2 the price. If you shop around you can get this for $350 with accessories. (Aliexpress). Also, much better than the ILife A4.It actually has a brush roller that picks up dog hair very well on all surfaces including medium pile carpet which the 980 struggled with. The brush roller doesn't get clogged up with dog hair easily like the ILife A4 did. A few strands wrapped around the brush but I could probably go multiple times before cleaning it. They supplied a handy tool to cut and clean the hair from the brush when needed. The filter is fantastic. It's hepa rated and it has a tight mesh covering it to prolong the life and make for easier cleanup. Cleaning the bin is a little trickier than the Roomba or Botvac since it's slightly smaller bin but it does open up from two sides. The filter can be removed or there's a door on the other side. I use my crevice tool on my main vacuum to suck the bin clean and run it across the filter to start fresh. It leaves nice vacuum lines in medium pile carpet so I know the brush is effective. The suction is slightly better than the 980 on max which was already pretty powerful. I think it's slightly quieter than the 980 on max mode. One issue I did have was with my 1/2" thick rug that has a brown border. I'm not sure if it's the color or the fact that it perfectly blocks light to the cliff sensors but it treats the rug edge as a border. I taped white paper to the cliff sensors to trick it and now it runs up on the rug like a champ! I'm not sure how the 980 or the Botvac handle this rug because I didn't own it at the time.It cleaned my entire 900 sq ft house in less than an hour on max mode and I still had 60% battery left. The navigation is Amazing. It doesn't show any sign of getting stuck or going over areas multiple times or around chairlegs multiple times like both the Botvac and 980 did.Time will tell how the reliability will be but so far I'm blown away at the performance! Don't waste your money on other products. The app is in Chinese but maybe there's a way to change it to English. I haven't looked too hard yet. Either way not a deal breaker for me since performance is way more important.

Battery replacement?
This robot is a capable robot with features similar to Neato robots. The thing that should be a deal killer is that there is no place to purchase a replacement battery. If somebody can prove me wrong on this point, please do.

XIAOMI has no warranty service in the US
XIAOMI has no warranty service in the US. So if you have a problem how would you get it repaired? The robotic vacuum looks to be very good. But I am using other peoples reviews for this. I really want to purchase the XIAOMI robot vacuum, but at the current price I will not do to the warranty issue. Other manufacturers will provide service for their products. XIAOMI should also if it is to sold in the US. I am other XIAOMI products but when they go bad you have to throw them away.
