It doesn't actually smell of anything, and doesn't make your shoes smell nice. But boy does it soak up all the bad smells in your shoes. Also lasts a LOT longer than what the packet states (in my experience anyway). I use these for my badminton shoes and no problems whatsoever. Wholly recommended.

Happy to report the replacements worked perfectly and no signs of deterioration after a few uses - very happy.We’ve been struggling with the stench of our sons various boots for a number of seasons and have tried multiple ways to freshen them up with no real success.After seeing this on Amazon, thought we’d give them a go.Good news is - they really helped with the smell and although not completely gone, they’re definetly smelling a lot fresher and not causing the whole family to wretch whenever son opens his boot bag.The not so good news - after 2 hours in my sons boots, both bananas have now started to turn with brown dots appearing over them. Boots were slightly damp, but not overly wet when used so a bit disappointed as don’t see how these are now going to last the time claimed in the advertising.Overall, a great idea and seems as though they are effective at addressing the smell issue. However, if they need to replaced this often then it’s going to come very costly.

Not had long enough to comment on effectiveness. Came well packaged. Nice that they are tied together so you can’t loose one. The large size makes them easy to use and swap from shoes. Seem to be working well.
