An absolute failure!
The media could not be loaded. Unfortunately, this item was plagued with all sorts of mishaps from the very beginning. When unboxing the item, I noticed the strange sound inside of the RX unit. It appeared that the 'heatsink' radiator disconnected from the CPU and acted like a 'loose cannon'.Next, I was very surprised to find 3.5mm-to-infrared adapters inside the package - this device does not have any 3.5 mm ports. To my further surprise, EX200 was supplied with a wrong manual - the manual was for another model which is HDMI-over-CAT5 60m (and this model indeed supports IR over 3.5 mm). These could be just minor issues, but the rest was even worse. I bought this item as a substitution for Mirabox HSV891 (had to send it back to the seller too) - unfortunately, this one is definitely no better. There is a configuration webpage where I can set the right resolution and FPS - but it does not help much, since setting 50/60 fps only applies to the signal ID. In fact this device encodes at some 25..30 fps and the resulting video is jumpy. Despite the signalling info is tagged 50 Hz, it is only 25 fps. HSV891 had this issue too, but at least the picture did not vibrate. Yes, I mean it - the video literally vibrates during transmission: it is shaking couple of pixels upwards and downwards. Maybe it is OK for broadcasting ads in the shopping mall, but at home, you definitely cannot enjoy a football game - the movements are jerky and the video is shaky. I tried both 720p, 1080p and 'unaltered input' settings - and it was all the same, maybe 720p was slightly better due to less demanding CPU usage. This device features an HDMI loop-back output port so in theory it should eliminate the need for HDMI splitter. Sad part is that it is theory, in real-life loopback port produces incredible amount of noise - the video has intermittent white lines which appear and disappear chaotically. And that's not all. An icing on the cake: the audio was missing (I tried all available HDMI cables and result was the same). By the way, audio was missing even if I connected HDMI to the loopback port (i.e. it was not a transmission fault) - looks like HDMI input has faulty audio pins or whatever. In summary: wrong item packaging, mechanically damaged item, limited functionality + technical faults.Having that said, I decided to return the item immediately.
