Little Tikes Turtle Sandbox - Outdoor Playset for Toddlers - Safe & Portable - Encourages Creative Play

During the hot weather I bought this for my 2 dogs to cool down. Wow best thing I’ve bought them. Great that the lid or turtle back comes off and keeps it covered. My neighbours little girl was in and out of the pool too having a great time. I can see how excellent it would be as a sand pit too for kids. But during our heatwave it was a god send for the dogs keeping them lovely and cool. So worth every penny for this item. I clean it out easily every few days or so as it gets grubby with the dogs and then the water goes on the garden. Only don’t do what I did last time and that is tip it up to empty the water out as the weight cracked the base open. Use a jug to empty into a bucket and then water your plants or into the drain. Definitely a Best Buy of the year item.

Really well made, sturdy, great size - our 18 month old twins both sit in it and have lots of room to move and have toys. It’s really great. It has two built in seats too. Once it’s filled with sand (I used 3 big bags) you won’t be able to move it, so choose a place carefully. Bear in mind that if placed on a lawn, all the grass underneath it will die. I bought some green ‘bungee cords’ (the ones with hooks on each end) and use those to hold the cover in place when not in use to keep the sand dry. Otherwise it’s a very loose fit and will blow away with the wind. Beware, slugs love to crawl inside where they die in the sand. Every time we open it we have to scoop out 3 or 4 slugs before the children can go in it.

This little turtle box has been a welcome addition to our garden this year. Our two year old daughter has used it so much that if she never used it again we've still had our monies worth. Again like my other reviews this is an item that seems to vary greatly in price from £40 - £24, we bought it when down at £24. The quality appears strong and rigid, I originally wanted a wooden one as they looked 'posher' than these plastic monsters. However after lots of family and friends chucking their rotten and battered wooden frames away or complaining all the weeds come up through the ground mesh, I relented and bough this garish plastic one. So pleased I did, we are very happy. Don't buy your play sand from Amazon though, shocking high prices. The cheapest play sand is that big retailer famed for ordering through catalogue numbers then either home delivery or to your collection point please! Also discovered that play sand is so deliciously silky it lurks on patio slabs with the same evil thoughts as black ice!

Having spent far to much time looking at sandpits and considering prices and reviews I decided to buy the Little Tikes Turtle Sandpit for a child's 1st birthday. I decided against cheaper wooden sandpits having read various reviews about them rotting after just a few years. (Note: Prices seem to vary - I paid £34 when product was on offer) The sandpit is large enough to fit in 2-3 babies/toddlers and older children could use the seats on the edge. It's a friendly looking character and the plastic it's made from is fairly robust whist still being light enough to easily move without a man to hand! The lid is a thinner plastic and I would recommend storing it flat when not on the turtle so as not to distort the shape. The lid on ours fit fine - not a snug fit but it has had to cope with some significant rain and it has not leaked. We've not had a problem with wind yet but a light weight on top would be useful to hold it in place. Excellent as a ballpit or paddling pool for small child. We've decided to put a groundsheet type liner in the bottom for when we put sand in so that the sand can be lifted out in the sheet without having to lift the turtle full of sand which I imagine would cause it to crack. It'd be fine if you didn't need to move it with sand in but practically this is better for us. Would recommend

As a childminder, I purchased this item as sand-play is arguably one of the top 5 'musts' for fun, learning and development in early years. Initially I thought 'oh no, more plastic!' but after borrowing a friend's Little Tikes bouncy castle recently, I knew their products are tough and well made/designed. I have not been disappointed with this one. The pit holds plenty of sand, and this week legs have been buried, giving the authentic beach experience. There was enough comfortable space for a 5 and a 3 year old, and when the 1 yr old toddler joined there was a still a cosy - not cramped - feel about the play going on. Seats on the edge are a good idea, and serve the intended purpose. Yes, lid is a touch light and design could go a bit further to include clips of some description, but windy weather simply means that something will be put on top in the general tidying up process. HOWEVER, the best feature for me is that this sandpit allows water can practically be added into the mix! Sand and water go together like bread and butter - they are meant for each other. On our patio, water has been added to make rivers, moats, tides going in and tides going out, rock pools, mud pies and body covering. In no way could I imagine this going on with other sandpits on the Amazon list that only have an internal groundsheet or wood that needs to be treated annually (sorry, don't have time for that!). OK, water has to be drained away manually with cups and small containers, but hey - even I got carried away watching the sand and water making rivers and mini-lakes as I worked out how to fill each container-full with water... Very relaxing! Damp sand can then be dried off by leaving the lid off during the day (not the night due to cats etc). I have recommended this sandpit to parents I work with, and I recommend it to Amazon purchasers. Great value for money.

This is just what I wanted for my two grandsons, aged 1 and 4. It's big enough for them both to play happily, though they would really prefer it to be bigger. There isn't very much room for toys when they are both in it together. I put in two bags of sand, that seems plenty, and not too much is getting lost. The lid is fine, no problem with it blowing off so far, and it keeps the sand dry and the cats out. I think this would make a good little paddling pool too, though we haven't tried that yet. I should think it would be a lot more convenient than the collapsible pools.

Very impressed with the quality of the sandpit, arrive direct from no. 1 deals the cardboard box was ripped the item was in perfect condition. The feet make a seat. The lid keeps it clean and water resistant. My 2 year old granddaughter loves it, so does her cousins 8 and 11. Very pleased we bought 2 X 25kgs of sand, from Amazon , which half fill it. Many hours of full for our grandchildren and their dads

For my little boys first birthday we decided to get him his first sandpit, as he loves digging and messy play. This sand pit is perfect! Its big enough for him to play in and space for me to get in too! I love the added feature of the moulded feet which can be used as seats. Very sturdy and the lid is great for keeping the british rain out of the sand.

お値段はそこそこでしたが、孫たちへのいいプレゼントになった。 公園の砂場遊びなんて、昭和の時代は当たり前だったが、自宅の庭にはこのカメの砂場遊びが適している。 水を入れて水遊びも出来るし、良いんじゃないでしょうか。

Wir sind begeistert von diesem hoch-qualitativen Sandkasten, der in England hergestellt wird. Es handelt sich also schon mal um keinen China Müll und der Kasten ist geruchsneutral. Das Plastik ist robust und fühlt sich angenehm matt an. Die grüne Schildkröte passt optisch super in das Gras bei uns im Garten. Wir haben ihn zu zwei Dritteln befüllt und zwar mit insgesamt 50kg Sand. Meines Erachtens reicht das vollkommen. Es gibt etwas unterschiedliche Schildkrötenmodelle von Little Tykes. Wir haben dieses gewählt, da es breite "Pfoten" hat, die auch gleichzeitug als Sitzgelegenheit dienen. Der Rand ist sonst unbequem und das Kind muss ganz im Kasten oder ausserhalb sitzen. Was super ist, ist dass kein Schmutz, Pflanzen und Ungeziefer sich im Sand einnisten kann, da der Sandkasten ja einen Boden hat. Man kann ihn deshalb bei Bedarf samt Sand verschieben. Der Kasten ist nicht riesig, aber aussreichend für 1 bis 2 kleine Kinder. Wenn wir mehr Platz möchten, so gehen wir sowieso auf den Spielplatz! Der Deckel ist ganz einfach zu bedienen und hält bis jetzt von alleine. Die nächtlichen Gartenbesucher auf weichen Samtpfoten werden also keine gelegenheit haben, den Sandkasten mit einem Katzenklo zu verwechseln! So, nun hoffe ich, dass diese Rezension Euch einen Überblick geben konnte, und Ihr Euch besser entscheiden könnt!
