Interpet Slow Release Holiday Mineral Aquarium Fish Food Block, Contains Freeze Dried Tubifex, Daphnia, Brine Shrimp and Mosquito Larvae, up to 14 Day Supply, 13g

I purchased this product believing it was the best choice to feed my fish while I was away for a few days. I followed instructions and performed water changes and filter cleaning as this is something I have been doing for years. My weeks holiday was cut short and I returned home after 4 days to find 2 tanks with a dead betta fish in each one, also several other tropical fish had perished. The product is probably okay for some fish, but not all! I did a 50% water change and rinsed filters again and have had no further losses. I would suggest that an automatic feeder would be a wiser choice if you have a range of fish in your aquariums. That way you can at least have the confidence that you have fed them a regular diet and not something that may possibly be unreliable.

We recently tried this holiday food block whilst we were away on a one-week trip. It was used in a 30 litre cold water tank to feed two goldfish, and we returned to find the block completely gone and the fish very, very hungry. It is supposed to last up to 14 days and appears to have lasted less than half of that, so we're lucky we didn't lose our fish. The only good thing I can say is that the dissolved block hadn't clouded the water, but we certainly won't be buying it again.

Now I can't blame this block because I'm unsure, but it definitely lasted, unfortunately my fish was very poorly afterwards. Luckily I managed to save him with green peas but I wouldn't buy again as I think this is what caused him to be poorly. He was fine before this and since helping him back to health, he's been fine with no issues.

Returned from a 10 day holiday after putting a 2 week block in the tank on the day of leaving, block was dissolved and fish were all lay on the bottom of the tank on return (one angel, a few medium sized tetra and a few mountain minnow so not many fish) have perked up a bit since feeding them but a couple are not looking too good. Previous years I have done the same with a none branded much cheaper white block from the pet shop with no issues, should have stuck to this.

AVOID !! When will this product get pulled from Amazon. Came back from four days away expecting to see my fish and a good part of the feeding brick left . It had completely dissolved and my fish had died after just four days !! I didn’t check the negative reviews only the positive and my poor fish is dead. So many reviews with the same sad story .

this product i found out when i came home off of holiday is very bad and kills the fish we came home to 1/3 if our fish dead and had to do an emergency water change and found out the product changed the water ph and ammonia and completely over feeds the fish and creates so much waste food

Why did you choose this product over others?: No food flaked off this at all whilst in our barrel pond so I tested it in a glass of water, it's been 3 days and as yet, no sign of anything being released. I can't even return the unopened one as returns aren't accepted. I'm glad we tested it before going on holiday!

We had a couple of bottom feeding fish who are always very resilient and after 5 days both were dead along with a couple of other normal tropical fish. Gutted as they were so healthy before we left, hoping we can save the remaining few! Have used Tetra before and regretting not sticking with them as they have always been fine before!

I would give it a zero If I can. If you want to mess your tank eco system, then use this product. Before interpet, 5 months tank was perfect. After, 3 out of 8 fish passed away. Fin rot, bacteria, and new little species that lives in tank now. God knows whats in those stars. Get pellets and auto feed next time or you pay the price.
