Great value for money
This toy was bought for our sons fourth birthday and he, and his friends love it. It arrives fully built and ready to go all you have to do is put the 9volt battery into the transmitter, charge the nicad battery pack and off you go.The truck is well built for this price catagory with a strong chassis and body (both Plastic) The finish is good with glossy paint and nice graphics.Operation is simple with joysticks for forwards, backwards, left and right. The controls are not proportional in that this toy has only on off controls for all function ie full speed forwards or backwards, full left or full right. This is only to be expected in a toy of this price. The size and speed of the truck make it better suited to outside unless you have a huge house as once its built up speed funiture can take quite a battering.Things that would make it better would be. An on off switch on the transmitter, a charger that has a fully charged light, an easyer connection for the battery pack to the truck (Its a bit fiddly). All in its a great toy for a youngster.

Reasonable for the money
For around £30 - this isn't a bad product.I have a second RC car which cost over twice as much so I'll point out the main weaknesses (none of which would stop me from spending this ammount on a similar car)- battery: yes it's rechargeable but the charger gives you no indication of when it's done (I usually give it about 4hrs)- battery: it slots into the base but sits exposed ...I wouldn't use it on wet surfaces!- battery running time: we get about 30min of decent play but as the power fades, so does performance (my other one goes full power for 40min then cuts off)- tyres: they're more of a soft plasic than rubber so traction on carpet isn't great- handling: the turning circle is quite poor but this is partly down to the lack of grip from the front tyres (on carpet - may be better on other surfaces)- controller: it is a bit flimsy, especially the aerial but I mostly use it indoors so I leave it retracted- lights: look OK but would be nice to switch them off to increase running time- durability: the front is well protected with plastic bumpers - mine's been run into all sorts of furniture at high speed without getting damagedIt was bought for my 4yr old son - he loves it and because it's a bit slower he finds it easier to control than our other, more expensive one.

ITS QUITE GOOD
Bought this for my 9 year olds birthday. Having shopped around this was probably the cheapest RC truck you can get with a rechargeable battery. It is quite big and my son likes playing with it, the lights come on and that makes it more fun, havent had a problem with the arial like some other people but in my experience these things are always fragile so not suitable for very young children. Its been used mainly indoors so far, my husband did try it on our grass which is a bit long and it struggled so not convinced its any good off road. However I don't think you can go wrong for the price.

Looks good but the aerial/antenna is utterly rubbish.
I ordered this for my young son for Christmas. The delivery was very quick, so I was delighted with this.We opened it to check that everything was ok, & to charge the batteries. Then we tried to fit the aerial/antenna to the hand-controller, as per the instructions. The threading on the base of the aerial could not find any purchase whatsoever when we inserted it & it was supposed to screw in. There was a hole inside, but the threading seemed non existent (you cannot see this inside part that it screws into).Having read the reviews here & understanding that some others had experienced problems with the aerial, I was extremely cautious about trying to ensure that it fitted, but I persisted & persisted & eventually I got it to screw in.On to Christmas morning.....my son was so excited to see the "red remote control truck" - exactly what he had asked Santa Claus for. I warned him immediately to be careful with the aerial, and he was careful. But nevertheless the aerial bent at the very base within about an hour. Then it fell out altogether. I tried to reinsert it, to no avail. I could hear a rattle inside; I think the inner hole segment must have broken away. For a truck that in itself seems quite robust (it's hard to know, we only got about 20 minutes actual playing time with it) the hand held controller is shockingly flimsy.I'm so very disappointed, and I hope that Amazon will try to resolve this for me.

Good value for money
Good sturdy car. My son has great fun with it, battery life could be better but it's a big car so battery probably runs out faster but most of these cars are the same. At least you can recharge the battery rather than buying new ones all the time. Delivery was fast and well packaged.

Lord
The monster truck is OK, but had trouble with the radio transmitter. The antenna is VERY fragile, the boy broke it the first time he tried to push it back down. I thought he was just being heavy handed, but almost did the same myself. Had to solder a bit of brass tube over the broken section. Next day the next section was broken.... It's just too fragile, even an adult would really struggle not to break it even with very careful use.The supplied 9 volt battery for the transmitter was dead on arrival. You need to put a bit of folded up card or something under the battery to push it hard into the contacts or no go. I had tried bending the battery contacts a bit to see if this would help, but it made no difference. There's a white thing at the battery contacts which might be a switch or something?? Can't imagine what it's for but perhaps this is why the battery has to be pushed hard towards the contacts and white thing with the folded card???Would I buy another??? No.

great value
this was the fourth remote controlled car we have bought as the others didn't work (not from the same company) this car arrived promptly and is a great size, runs really fast and goes over all terrain, its great that it has a rechargable battery, it was a gift for my adult son, who loves it as does his two children, great value for money, fun for all.
