The small pouch is not attached at all. I suppose you could sew on a bit of Velcro or a press stud. I couldn't put the pouch in the main case as I put the charger to my small laptop in the pouch and it wouldn't fit.

Q: Would the 11 inches fit well for my hp compaq 2230s?

My Lenovo netbook fits perfectly so I don't see why not.
