The Dress: 100 Iconic Moments in Fashion

Lovely book, and nice to check online to compare the drawings with photos of the dresses too. There are some I personally wouldn't have chosen as iconic. Scarlets dress in Gone with the Wind? Ginger Rodgers floaty number when dancing with Fred Astaire? Both not in this book. Both timeless historical classics. I was also expecting the green dress from "Atonement" to be there mainly because of its simple elegance and it's been much copied but it is the personal choice of the author and it did get a foot note with the Anna Karenina dress. Nice coffee table book too.

This is such a darling book. Of course, the mirror gold edges (and additional gold outline on front and back) make it stunning before you even open it. But it gets even better inside - arranged like a couture notebook with fashion drawings from all the greatest designers. Be mindful, there is no accompanying text at all, but that isn't even a niggle, this book is so ENCHANTING.

A really beautiful compact book. Loved the gold leaf edging to the pages and the stylish monochrome illustration. Bought for my 17 year old daughter who is studying fashion design at A-level. She loved it. Would be enjoyed and appreciated by anyone with an interest in ladies' fashion.

I havent even started to read the book yet but I am blown away by the beautiful illustrations on every page. There is so much content. Definitely well worth the price. Cant wait too get stuck into it

A useful read for an historian of 20th century fashion, also it is a good book for just dipping in to.
