Canvas Backpack - Vintage Outdoor Rucksack Travel Day Pack

I absolutely love love love this bag. After ordering other rucksacks and returning due to being too small, this bag is frankly huge! I ordered the camo and can say it is actually more beautiful than the picture, very very hard wearing canvas, loads of pockets/space. I want this for day fishing with hubby to pack lunch for picnics but we can actually fit our Kelly Kettle in with ease as well along with the pans cups etc. Fantastic value for money. Ideal for camping/days out office equipment, will easily fit a laptop phone etc. highly recommended.

Great looking old school rucksack, big enough for the usual stuff. Not waterproof but pretty resilient.

So happy I went for it. Wasn't familiar with this brand but they seem legit now.So just opened the package and and the first thing that strikes me is the high quality, of stitching and materials. The pockets are great, there is also a separate large compartment inside which is perfect for my 13 inch laptop (an A4 notebook will also fit perfectly here) and a zip up pocket with lots of space also. Storage capacity overall is great, even more spacious than I expected!Functionality seems great, with button clasps so you don't have to mess about with the buckles, which is also one of the reasons I got this one. The canvas looks durable and like it will last for years.Overall, really happy with this purchase, highly recommended.

I don’t doubt there are probably more practical back packs available with more zipped pockets you can buy at a similar price tag that may be easier to live with. So why this one?.For me, there is no sign of nylon anywhere, just thick canvas material dyed to give off the effect of a washed out look.I like the double stitching used & how neatly it’s been finished off from the front & back. This reminds me of a good quality pair of jeans.The manufacturer logo is kept to a minimum with a thick leather embossed tag neatly stitched in the center of the opening flap approximately three inches wide by one & a half inches high, quite discrete.Don’t expect a rigid body far from it this bag will collapse very easily if it’s not well packed, but saying that I believe it adds to the charm.The straps are of a thick weave protected with little patches of leather to stop them from fraying.On the underside of the straps small studs are inserted to hold the pockets closed. The studs do close with a satisfying click only time will tell if these studs continue to hold that permanent lock.The buckles are effectively there for show, yes they can be adjusted but it’s just not necessary, especially if you’re in a hurry.The buckles don’t appear to be made out of brass but bear in mind this bag is made to a budget.The shoulder straps are not heavily padded but in my opinion suits the bag well, it looks minimalist. As for comfort I find it perfectly acceptable on a day trip.You have three pocket compartments on the outside which are generous in size, the middle one being slightly larger than the two on the side & one main cavernous sack approximately 30 litres in capacity with a small zipper pocket on the inside to keep your valuables in. This one and only zipper is not branded please don’t expect YKK quality.Compared to my nylon back pack this is heavier, it’s not waterproof & undoubtedly will weigh more if you’re caught in a heavy down poor. Is it a fair weather bag? Yes I think so, but saying that it will tolerate light showers.How could the manufacturer improve on this bag? Perhaps they should consider a waxed version & give the consumer either choice.As I said perhaps not the most practical of bags but I think you buy this bag for its rugged good looks that will look even better with wear & if you’re conscious of a 1950’s old charm bag on a budget then go no further.

This bag is brilliant, hard wearing and washable. I used it to travel abroad, I didn’t need extra baggage it held everything I needed for ten days and being good quality canvas it takes a lot of abuse with tearing or breaking straps. At home I use it everyday for carrying the essentials and extras I need for work and life.

Great well made quality backpack that looks the part. The material on mine while very good quality was less 'distressed washed' looking than the photos but still a great looking backpack. Plenty of pockets and a inner sleeve inside that fit my 14 inch laptop and a inner zippered pocket as well as pencil pockets. Very good bargain for the price and would cost much more from a high street brand.

I travel alot for work and Brought this bag for a ro go back. By far the best bag I've ever had, I use it daily and really push it ri its limits. It holds everything I need and is still going strong. Honestly not much wear and tear at all after 2 years. I highly recommend getting this bag.

I've never written a review before but felt compelled to with this bag.So many products these days are designed to be cheap and throwaway. It's hard to things that are built to last. This bag is so good. If you're on the fence, just get it, you can't go wrong. I've used mine for work daily as a truck driver for maybe 2 years or longer. It's been abused, thrown in an out of trucks, stuffed full (it fits in an incredible amount, ive been away for a week with just this bag before), with sharp and heavy tools, trowels and hammers in it, been in the washing machine twice, and it's not showing any sign of wear at all. The stitching is strong and still like day one, the straps are rock solid. The draw string used to close it is far better than a zip as it allows you to stuff the bag much more and it won't break. Absolutely fantastic rucksack. Too the point where Im going to treat myself to the messenger bag and other things gootium make. Can't rate them high enough.

Was looking for something large and strong for longer travel yet still able to use for lighter trips without being bulky and can fold up into another back to bring out later on trip.This is the Large size.Please see photos attached: front pocket size and side pocket and hanging next to belt bag so you can see size. I spent literally a month or more searching for just the perfect rucksack for college. I own another, much smaller rucksack, which is perfect for day-to-day, take my lunch and a few other items to work kind of thing, but far too small for a Chromebook, a half dozen textbooks, notebooks, folders, etc So I was trying to find something that offered capacity without looking "oversized" when wearing it, but also looked great. I like the military look and was searching for something with a military/retro vibe.I was a bit scared when I opened the Amazon box that this was NOT what I wanted, because it was folded up in a plastic sleeve and appeared small - oh no, did I accidentally order the small? Nope, once I unfolded it...wow. Opened it up to find TONS of capacity, enough for even this book lover to stack books plus my laptop. Now, there is no laptop "sleeve" inside, but I knew that going in and will press into service a protective sleeve for my laptop when I carry it here (decent neoprene sleeves are easily available for around $10). The inside capacity is so large, in fact, that if I leave the library one day with a real load of books I could easily stack the books one on top of each other in this bag, rather than sliding them in the traditional way.But, curiously and happily, when this is slung over my shoulder it just doesn't LOOK that big. I'm about 5'6" and wearing it I was surprised to see it stops at my waist, it isn't overly long like one might expect from a bag with this much volume internally I love the army green military, which is a slightly muted green, adding to its vintage appeal. The inside zippered pocket is plenty large for notepads, mouse, power supply etc. The outside pockets will easily handle my water bottle and even LUNCH in the large front one.I read online several reviewers note that the "faux" buckle straps had been lost, that they fell off, rendering them (and their snaps) useless and had read one reviewer offer tips on securing them. And I knew exactly what they were talking about, as I'd had another bag by a different manufacturer lose similar straps. HOWEVER, when I went to secure these, to make sure I never lose them, I found it would be near impossible to lose them - I don't know if the manufacturer wised up and made a slight design modification or what, but the ends of the straps now have a leather accent piece that is just slightly wider than the mouth of the buckles, so even if the buckle pin were to come loose, the strap would be difficult to get through the buckle without angling it or pinching it to get it through, which means it wouldn't just fall off. It's a nice touch, and while I had several options in mind for securing the straps from the get go, when I noticed that I didn't even bother.Gotta say I'm impressed - this really exceeds my expectations. I needed a bag that would carry me through grad school and beyond and I really think this fits the bill. Would highly recommend.
