Exceptional sound - don't expect to adjust settings wirelessly on a Walkman though.
These are the latest wireless headphones from Sony as at the end of 2017. I have several pairs of headphones by Sony and other top brands. These are the best in my opinion. The sound from the WH-H900 is extremely good. Wonderfully clear with a decent but not overpowering Bass. I always prefer clarity over Bass. The ability to cup the right headphone with your hand and mute the sound quite a lot if someone is talking to you is very handy. When you remove your hand the music continues to play at the previous level. Instead of buttons to press you can adjust the sound level by a simple sweep upwards or downwards of your right fingers across the cup. Same with pause and selecting next track. This is so easy and far better than trying to fiddle with switches or buttons on the side. I have used these with an iPhone and Sony's own Walkmans. That's where I have found a problem. There are various sound stages and Equaliser adjustments you can make on Sony Walkmans and they work well when the headphones are connected to the supplied cable. However, these sound adjustments do not work when the headphones are connected wirelessly to a Walkman. I bought the Walkman NW A35 specifically to use with the headphones but the adjustments on the Walkman for the Equaliser etc make no difference to the sound when wirelessly connected. I contacted Sony about this but after going through the motions they admitted that there is no solution. It's staggering that Sony cannot make their own products compatible in this way. So, the sound still sounds great, just don't expect to alter the sound settings wirelessly on any Sony Walkman if that's important to you. Owing to the fabulous sound from the headphones you probably wouldn't want to alter it anyway. I believe the fault is in the Walkmans, not the headphones, which still produce really wonderful sound. (I'm not talking about loudness here, just equalising settings etc like the Clear Audio.) Having said that, you can adjust the sound wirelessly on your iPhone etc by means of a Sony App. This works very well and has a decent Equaliser and various Sound Stages so I guess you can use that if you want to fiddle with settings, or just connect the supplied headphone cable to a Walkman or similar player. (I notice that the box does say that the headphones are 'made for iPod and iPhone' but this doesn't mean exclusively.) The headphones are comfortable and don't feel heavy when worn. The choice of colours is good. I went for the light green which blends more easily with someone like me who is 'of an age'. Noise cancelling...hmm this is a bit subjective according to how good your ears are. It did block the noise of traffic in the street quite well but then with a high volume I don't hear much external noise anyway. Chacun a son gout I suppose. Despite the minor flaw with adjusting settings wirelessly on a Walkman I thoroughly recommend the Sony WH-H900 h.ear for listening pleasure.

A very good headphone with everything you need.
Here is my opinion: - Sound quality: Superb. Even when using it with the Dragonfly Red DAC, not much difference in sound, the sound is a little bit tighter but that's it. - Comfort: Better than the M50x (which makes my ears hurt after long hours of gaming), That is not to say Hear on 2's comfort level is the same as a gaming headset which focuses on comfort (G933 for example) but it is good enough for all-day activities. However, it gets hot if you're walking with it on for about 30 minutes. - Bluetooth connection: There are occasional "hiccups" (sound gets distorted due to connection - maybe from my old devices, XPS 15 9550 and Lumia 950 rather than the headphone itself), but the problem solves itself almost right away. - Battery: The battery can hold itself well. The exact duration is up for professional reviews, however. What I can say is that I have used the headphone constantly for 2 days and only to the third day that the headphone tells me that the battery is low (press the power button to listen to battery life - there will be a soft woman voice telling you the battery is high, medium, or low; press and hold for 2 sec to turn on or off the headphone). - Build quality: Like its predecessor, very good build quality as expected from its price. Rather heavy after long hours of usage. - Noise cancellation: The headphone reduces the noises around me significantly (including in the subway with children crying, hardly hear anything besides my music). However, it does not eliminate external sound completely, especially wind noise (it sounds like white noise when a TV loses signals. If it's windy, better turn off the Noise Cancellation/Ambient completely or download the Sony headphones app on Android or iOS to switch to Wind noise reduction. - Features: Touch control on the right earcup is a great step up from its predecessor (MDR 100ABN), with Quick Attention mode for listening to people around you (place your palm over the right earcup). Swiping forward or backwards for changing songs, up and down for volume. Double tap for pause/play or using the mic if you're calling someone. You will not find such fancy features even from a more expensive headphone like the Sennheiser Momentum 2 Wireless. - Bundles with the headphone: a 3.5mm cable, male USB to male micro USB cable for charging (no charging brick so you'll have to buy a separate one), a small fabric bag for placing the headphone and its stuff inside (which is a little bit disappointing, even a cheaper M50X receives a leather bag, expected more from a product at this price tag). All in all, a very good headphone that has everything you will ever need.

Now is the time to buy these headphones!
Jan 2020 Update: Ive had these for a while now. The battery keeps charge long time, brilliant. They feel absolutely quality with the hard plastic. Comfortable and noise cancellation IS really good. Never had anything even close with Taotronics and Mpows etc. Its very very close to the 1000XM3s, but without the cabin pressure on your ears. - Not for bass heads, you need pump up base on EQ (in Sony app included) if need more. To me they are nice - If youre out and windy you need to turn on wind noise reduction on the Sony app, that kills the wind howling Even in 2020 these headphones are hard to beat in this price bracket! I just tried again the Jabra 85H and Im lucky I didnt buy them at the end! Initial reaction. I have been looking at these for about 6months now, waiting price to come down. Also been wondering should I buy the newer wh-h910n when its out. Im glad I took the plunch... these are really good. They are the little brother of the great 1000xm3's, but with similar drivers so you get great sound but just a little bit less bass. (which can be added from the Sony app or Spotify/Google music equalizer). No prob at all. The extra bass wh900xb thats ones out now doent have the same instrument separation or soundstage as these, they have more bass though. These 900N's have brilliant noise reduction, million miles away from the Mpows and Taotronics, believe me Ive tried their best headphones. Theres a lot of quality feel to these headphones, they 900xb and new 910n both have light plastic feel to them, and the latter will only have 25mm drivers opposed to these 40mm ones. (but i havent tried the 910 ones out, might be good check youtube etc reviews when its actually out. Take any reviews from vine reviewers with a lot of salt though!) I bought a chinese case for these from Amazon for £9.99, which fit perfectly. Battery life feels good. When opened the headphones first time they had some 75% battery, after trying couple days its 70%. Perfetly fine for me. But i will update this as soon as. So far I absolutely recommend them.

These Headphones are an excellent alternative to the more expensive competitors
My first impressions when unboxing the WH-H900N were that the packaging was very high quality and everything was well presented and easy to understand. Sony asks that you plug in and charge the Headphones before using them for the first time, however, this is a good idea in general with any new tech and, as a result, gets extra points from me. My only gripe with the included accessories in the box was the fact that Sony doesn't include a hard carrying case and instead opted for a soft carrying pouch but in my experience, this has been more than adequate for carrying these in my bad and avoiding any damage from the other things I carry. In terms of sound quality compared to every other pair of Headphones and Earphones that I have owned, these produced the most accurate overall sound from highs to mids however, I found that in my experience just using them out of the box they did lack bass but thankfully if you're using these for mobile Sony encourages you to download an app which allows you to configure aspects of the headphones such as the higher streaming LDAC codec or sound effects including more bass so this issue was quickly fixed for me. The noise canceling feature of these Headphones is where Sony kind of let me down here. It's not a bad implementation of noise canceling, however in my experience they let in more sound that is desired and out of the box they let in even the most subtle wind noise but using the aforementioned app can solve this issue as it contains a wind reduction mode which drastically improves the amount of wind that you can hear. With that being said the noise canceling is strong enough to block out most everyday sounds and allows for an enjoyable listening experience. I haven't tested these Headphones much for some gaming using the included 3.5 to 3.5mm cable, except for when I was playing Layers of Fear which is very sound orientated at times. Using these Headphones whilst playing in the dark really gave me a sense of immersion that no other Headset has done before. With that being said they are not going to be replacing a dedicated gaming headset for gaming but considering that these are mainly for content consumption they surprised me when doing some gaming with them. Lastly, the battery life of these Headphones, at least from my usage patterns, is nothing short of amazing. At the time of writing this review, my Headphones have finally drained and need to be charged again, and that's the first time they need to be recharged since I got them about a month ago now. I'm sure that the advertised 24-hour battery life from Sony is honestly accurate as I usually use these Headphones for around 3-4 hours for 4 days of the week when traveling to and from Uni. Just note that if you use other Codecs supported by the headset or if you use the included cable instead of Bluetooth then your battery results will vary.

WH900 are an Excellent and Cheaper Alternative to WH100MX2
Bought these headphones recently to replace a smaller wireless bluetooth in ear headphones (used as test tech) and MDR1A wired headphones. I can say after using these for a few days, the sound is easiliy comparable probably with all fancy noise cancelling and ambient sound on and would be seen as better overall to the wired MDR1A. I thnk the MDR1A had slightly better mid range, which was clearer. However, that's a small sacrifice for an updated set of headphones... After doing some research and comparison side by side on the WH900H and the WH100MX2, which I thought personally was too expensive and saw the WH900H as the cheaper alternative and better value for money - bear in mind this is no slouch with the higher end model; WH1000MX2 has slightly higher battey life, one extra sony proprietry codec (S-Master HX) and Atmosphere Pressure Optimisation. Everything else between both models are the same (aside from price). The design of the headphones are very good, top quality manufacturing. The ear cups are comfortable and fit right over the ear, closing off standard noise. The top of the headphones have comfort padding, Not sure if it's the same with WM1000MX2. Also, the look of the unit generally up to Sony's standard. The WH1000MX2 on the other looks a bit like cheap plastic (on the ear cups specifically) have seen quite a few photos side by side, where it looks cheaper in design; so again this is where the WH900H wins out. It easily covers music, movie audio & audiobook needs. It's not stated clearly, but even if you have forgotten to charge the WH900H or the battery level is low, you still have the option of the included wired cable as traditional connnection and if you prefer 'direct sound', bluetooth will always have compression and what not, due to limitation of the tech and version. I have had well over 28/34 hrs use on/off with the headphones wired, wireless; there's a lot more battey life preserved. Also the touch controls (on the right earcup) are very good, you will have to get used to them as you swipe left/right for tracks, tap the middle for pause; should be same for streaming(?) [I haven't tested yet on streaming videos], up/down for volume control. Check some of the external sites and compare before you buy, the WH900H is an excellent replacement and better value for money. Especially If your generally thinking about moving away from the older wired models - the earlier MDR wired models and any other older/current (sony) bluetooth headphones. Update 1 : Sony Bluetooth App If you download the above mentioned app from googleplay or apple store, you can further refine the sound with following options directly from the app itself. Note - you don't need to connect to bluetooth on your phone exclusively to use the functions, e.g. if your listening to bluetooth on any other device the app won't interfere or make it exclusive for the phone's use (there will be a short pause when you first register/connect the device): Control ambient sound; noise cancelling, wind noise reduction, ambient sound Virtual surround sound (VPT); off, arena, club, outdoor stage, concert hall Equaliser with preset/custom options; off, bright, excited, mellow, relaxed, vocal, treble boost, bass boost, speech, manual, custom 1 & 2 Sound quality mode; priority on sound quality, priority on stable connection (useful for sound skipping, stabilises with fixed codec if used) DSEE HX; off, auto [possibly geared towards sony specific devices, since proprietry] Update 2 : Replacement Ear Cups My headphone ear cups got scuffed and gradually split at the seams (due to heavy, general daily use). From what I've seen and read, it appears to cost a fair bit just to have the ear cups replaced by a Sony outlet store. I saw the the following make/manufacturer do a 1:1 replacement ear cups for approx £13 (price may change) but still cheap and inexpensive option (a slightly darker shade from the original Sony ones): Manufacturer : Accessory House https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08512WV6K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 Be sure to watch the youtube video which shows what to do, just type in 'Sony WH900N Ear Cup replacements' take note of the tool used to remove the cups, since it has to unclip from the headset. Also, not mentioned in the video, when you fix the new ear cups in, you will have to press down firmly around the entire circumference shape of the ear cups; you might not hear a noticeable clicking sound as it joins the headset earpiece, but it will eventually adjust.

Fantastic sound, very comfortable, excellent ANC
This is my first wireless/Bluetooth pair of headphones and I'm having a great experience so far with these. The build quality is strong and sturdy, the sound is fantastic (I've had Sennheiser in-ears for many years now, these match up to those - if not better), and the ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) is wonderful. If you're not used to ANC, at first it can feel weird and like you're in a vacuum, but this subsides after just 1-3 days of use. I rarely have ANC off and I don't notice a drop in sound quality when it's turned on (some say it can affect it, I honestly cannot tell). Even with ANC on, I've only had to charge these twice since I purchased them a month ago (averaging around 1-2 hours of use per day) - so they last a long time, no need for charging every other day. I use these daily, for my 20-30 minute commute to and from work in central London, as well as on other trips in and around/out of the city, and the headphones have been of great practical use due to them being wireless. I've noticed some reporting of these making your ears quite hot at times, but I can't say I've noticed anything irregular (yes, they're over-ear so you're going to experience some level of heat over in-ear or earpods). My only issue/complaint so far is that with ANC on, whilst being on a loud train or tube (high screeching, track knocking - Londoners, you know what I mean), it constantly tries to adjust the anti-noise (ANC) for you and this can make your listening experience uncomfortable as it bounces around frequencies. Though this is an ANC issue overall as opposed to a problem with this particular pair of headphones, so if you come across that issue too just turn ANC off until you're off the train. Other than the above issue, this is one of the best purchases I've made in years. Wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone tempted with the Sony brand or the ANC technology.

Great comfort and quality
Great sound quality, battery lasts me for so long that I lose track of when I last charged them. The app's equaliser and connectivity settings are nice too. My usual problem with over/around in-ear headphones is that the longer I wear them, the more uncomfortable they become. The fact I have big ears doesn't help either. Luckily, this model has quite deep cushions/pads, so my ears don't reach the driver / plastic inside, which makes them comfortable for long periods of time. I have worn them all day at work without any discomfort, except maybe a bit of moisture building up where the pads sit on my head if I wear the headphones for more than about 3h without removing them and the office temperature is on the warm end. I've tried the Bose QC35 and they have narrower pads, so the tip of my ears start hurting after 2-3h of wearing them. However, the QC35 do achieve a bit better noice cancelling, probably to some extent due to the smaller pads providing better ambient noise isolation. My only gripe is that the microphones for picking up ambient sounds are quite exposed, thus walking around in the wind results in loud/amplified wind noise. For the office and traveling in bus/tube/etc they are pretty good. The touch controlls on the side are great too. At first I thought it's a bit of a gimmick feature, but they consistently register correctly and are intuitive to use. Plus, they eliminate any fumbling for buttons.

Great looking bluetooth noise cancelling headphones with excellent functionality
Was very hesitant getting such an expensive pair of headphones. But I am absolutely glad I took the leap and bought them! Firstly, they look fantastic. The colour options are great and the design is eye-catching but sleek and modern. It's mostly plastic but the head band seems to have a metal frame and the build quality is excellent. Nice matt finish that so far has resisted scratches. Folds away nicely and comes with a nice same-colour pouch for packing it for travel/storage. Also comes with a same-colour aux cable to connect wired if you need to (in case you're in a no-wireless zone or run out of batteries for example). Would have been good if it included a stereo-to-2xmono adapter for those stupid airplane sockets, but those are like 50p a piece on ebay. Comfort is great. The earcups fit around and completely enclose my ears. The cups are smaller than a lot of headphones I've tried, I guess in order to maximise portability, but still big enough for me. Padding is sufficient on the cups and on top. The band is quite tight, so it's held up both by the clamping force on your head as well as the top band sitting on your head. Audio quality is perfectly fine as far as I can tell. I'm not a very discerning audiophile, so maybe others might be a bit more picky. In my opinion, it's great, no complaints. It has touch media controls on the right ear cup, allowing for play/pause, volume up/down, next/previous track, and also google assistant if you're connected to an android phone. The touch controls are cool since they are hidden and unmarked, but not the most reliable, as you can imagine with touch controls. I kind of would prefer real buttons myself, even if it doesn't look as sleek. Bluetooth reliability had no problems. I was actually surprised by the range that these things have on bluetooth. Connected to a phone, it easily reaches 10m or so. Connected to a dedicated bluetooth audio aptx adapter on a PC (like the Avantree Bluetooth aptx USB Music & Talk Adapter), the range was easily over 20m. Battery life so far is phenominal. I have used it for a few days at work listening to music the entire day and not had to charge it. Have never run out on a journey. Although so far I have not taken any plane journeys with it, I am confident it would easily last even the longest of long haul flights. Easy to charge with standard micro-usb. Comes with a short black USB cable but no charger. And finally, the reason why they're so expensive: the noise cancelling! Absolutely amazing. The best noise cancelling in any device I've ever owned. Not perfect by any means, but they definitely make a huge difference. As usual, they mostly cancel out continuous droning noises the best. Sudden noises and high pitched noises don't get cancelled as effectively, although still better than having no NC. The really fantastic function that Sony has added here though is the ambient noise mode. This cancels out most noise but allows through things like speech and traffic noises. Also, there's the "quick attention" mode, where if you put your palm on the right ear cup, it drops the volume of your music a lot and lets through all surrounding noise. This is great for when you suddenly need to hear something around you, like someone speaking to you. To clarify, this doesn't just turn off the NC, it actually plays through the surrounding sounds that it picks up with the built in mics, meaning that you can hear everything arround you just as if you took off the headphones completely. All in all, I am very happy I bought these and would highly recommend them as noise cancelling bluetooth headphones.
