very useful but liquid can spill out pretty easily if you aren't careful. pleased though as it helped with our problem

Really poor value for money - two bits of green plastic which do not close securely, must cost pennies to manufacture - all for nearly £7.00!After the frustration of watching our friendly fruit flies buzzing about the kitchen we decided to test the Fackelmann with the old fashioned method - an empty jam jar with cling film pierced on top with small holes. Result after 7 days located on same kitchen shelf: Jam jar 8 flies. Fackelmann only 1.No fly killing fluid supplied with "trap" so tried the internet search suggestions of either vinegar/washing up liquid or red wine - found the latter more successful (at least the flies would die happily inebriated).Considered returning the plastic pear, but had disposed of packaging.Surprised at some 4 star ratings, but have read in media recently about some people being been paid to supply fake Amazon reviews, so perhaps this is an example, who knows?I suggest you use a jam jar!

The two pieces done fit together great and it’s quite delicate. And for the price you would’ve thought it was higher quality. I could’ve got even cheaper ones but I thought this would be better. I was wrong

This product works perfectly, all of the fruit flies were attracted to it and died in the bait once they'd gone inside. Just put a tablespoon of red wine vinegar and a tablespoon of washing up liquid into the apple container and it attracts them like a dream! I have a feeling that the people leaving bad reviews probably didn't put any bait inside and just left a plastic apple on the side expecting it to do something....

top and bottom not an exact match; a slight discolouration too; but I'm not too bothered by cosmetic matters; it looks like it will do the job as advertised

I cannot understand the poor reviews. This product does exactly what it promises - just add equal quantities of washing up liquid and vinegar as instructed and place in fruit bowl. I have not had problems with fruit fly since I purchased it. Far safer to use than chemicals!

Whilst it looks nicer than a DIY job, the design of the catcher means that fruit flies aren't able to easily enter it, and if they do it's easy for them to escape.Also, because of the shoddy design the liquid you put in it spills easily.I had much greater success by getting glass and putting cling film and a rubber band around it, punching 2 holes through. You want cider vinegar and maybe some old fruit in there, problem will be gone in a few days.Save your money.

Wasted my money as not worked so far & if you accidentally tip it even a tiny bit it leaks as seal not effective enough to keep fluid in safely. Make a homemade one!
