Good bit of kit.
Replaced a burnt out Kef subwoofer amp, had to make a plate up to mount it as this amp is smaller. But it does the job well. Sounds very good and the auto power off works too. Definitely would recommend rather than throwing a perfectly good subwoofer speaker and cabinet away.

Great digital subwoofer amp - well designed and easy to fit.
This subwoofer plate amplifier does everything expected of it. It's neatly constructed and lightweight and performs well down to a satisfyingly low frequency level. I bought it to replace a faulty amp in an older Kef subwoofer which, through overheating over time, had burnt out some fragile capacitors. The Kef had a design fault that meant that, despite having a so-called automatic standby mode when no input signal was detected, it never actually switched the amp circuits off, thus producing constant heat. This, coupled with a very poor heat dissipation construction method, caused the components to fail and produced a well-known buzzing sound and no reproduction of audio. After two attempts to replace the faulty capacitors with no result, I decided to replace the whole amp and chose the IMG unit as the nearest match. The plate of the IMG is much smaller than the Kef original so I had to cut a suitable hole in the Kef plate (after dismantling all the original electronic components, which were now useless) in order to mount it neatly in the speaker enclosure. Doing this allowed me to make sure all electrical connections were safely enclosed, whilst also providing good ventilation to make sure overheating never reared its ugly head in future. Having installed the IMG plate on top of the stripped down Kef plate I now have a subwoofer that does exactly what I wanted, for a much lower cost than a brand new unit from Kef or Tannoy costing several hundred pounds more. The IMG has a genuine standby switch which really does reduce power consumption when no signal is detected - I can tell because it goes completely cold after a period of no usage. The sound is nicely balanced with the subwoofer output from my Marantz streaming receiver. Now I have the deep bass that my bookshelf speakers can't reproduce when listening to high quality audio or video. I recommend this unit. One caveat - it does produce an obtrusive hum if the output level is set too high - but I take this as a sign that I've cranked up the volume too high anyway.

I took a chance on this purchase as there doesn't appear to be many companies that do sub-woofer repairs and my old Tannoy had developed a fault with its amplifier. After some research this amplifier seemed to fit the bill and I couldn't be happier, It was not too difficult to install I had to make a plate with some MDF I already had, Screw it in and wire it up, Most people with basic DIY skills would manage this without problems. I can honestly say It has made a vast improvement I have more power than the original amp but it has maintained its musicality, Although its main use is for Movies I also play a lot of music and the amplifier performs well, Overall its saved me in the region of £400 for a new Sub and I'm a Happy customer. Quick delivery, Good price thanks,

Revived a mord-short subwoofer with fantastic results
Wow... I'd been looking for a replacement amp module for my bargain mordaunt short Active subwoofer that had the usual cooked amplifier, which was beyond redemption.. This although a smaller footprint that the Mordaunt i fitted this into the original rear panel, modified with a jigsaw.. The sound and adjustability are beyond what i expected for the price tag, easily adjusted for different levels of bass on music streaming.. Well worth the investment and a great alternative to finding an original mordaunt short unit..

Kef subwoofer alive again!
I had an old Kef subwoofer that like everyone else’s broke way too soon! This replacement amp is perfect to get it working again! It doesn’t fit straight off, I got a piece of wood to adapt it to fit as explained in other reviews. Great sound!!

Good for price
Nothing to dislike for the price. Fills medium sized hall...a bit muddled at high volumes but then you dont need to turn it up to 1/2 even to hear the bass.

Booming Good Buy
The revue by S. Mitchell said it all! (That's why I bought one) I had an KEF Subwoofer that needed up-grading!...Only difference being is that I didn't use the old circuit plate but instead adapted the speaker box to accommodate the new one and bored some ventilation holes at the top to prevent it from overheating! (See photo)...The sound is terrific when hooked up to my av receiver!...set at a level that's not too overpowering when music is being played, (It's not all about the Bass) but cranked-up for my Blu-Ray Collection of 7.1 surround Sci-Fi movies which always need a little bit more volume for the explosive effects! (It's definitely about the Bass)

Very Loud......
Made a subwoofer box to house this Amplifier for my surround sound .. I can only say WOOOOOWWWW !!! Infact I do not use it too much as it annoys the neighbours and gives me a headache especially the low frequency rumbles you get in films and adverts.....
