Efficient delivery speed. The product is well made with no rough edges and was a perfect fit for the broken door pull for my tumble dryer. Would be 5 stars if it wasn’t for the design flaw highlighted below. This is the 2nd replacement handle I have purchased leading me to believe that the Bosch design is probably flawed. Both previous handles broke in the same way suggesting a weak point which should be strengthened in design. The dryer works well having seen some heavy use over the 7 years of ownership so I have no issues with the overall quality when it comes to the main purpose of the machine - drying washed loads. The machine is floor standing so the top section of the handle is pulled far more than other areas and it is this top area that has broken both times. I’m sure engineers could come up with a stronger fixing method.

Anyone who has anything Bosch knows they have one flaw in the product. Our Bosch dishwasher clogs really easily, the Bosch fridge drain plug blocks, our Bosch freezer? The open door alarm will not go off if slightly ajar. With the tumble dryer, the catch is too strong, and the handle isn't. This is easy to replace. Take off the handle by removing three Torx screws, then put on another handle, simple as that. Who knows how long this one will last, it's exactly the same as the old one, but we are well versed in opening the door in the middle of the handle right in front of the catch.

In total it took me 15 minutes to replace the handle on the Bosch Dryer. The screw socket breaking is a common fault and no doubt after a certain amount of time this too will break, however you can minimise the stress and strain by always gently pulling at the centre of the handle rather than the sides. Use a torque screwdriver to remove each of the screws around the inside of the machine, use pliers for any plastic stuck to the screw. place the screws in a sequence easy to remember for reassembly. The inner door structure is made of glass not plastic and is slightly weighty. The only tricky part is once you add the new handle lining up the door to the hinge, so secure the screws near the hinge first and then the handle. Anyone can replace the handle themselves its very straight forward.

Mummy and daughter had done away with the old handle, so obviously it was daddy's job to fix it. Thankfully after a quick search I found this - quick, cheap and easy to install, and arrived promptly. There are 3 screw legs, the hardest part was getting the old screw legs out as they had snapped off leaving a little bit left on the existing screws that was hard to get at. Solved this by taking the entire door off the dryer, and prising the entire casing away. After that it was straightforward, provided you have the right torx screwdriver/drill attachment. Also note that you need to keep your existing screws as this does not come with any, so don't throw away the old handle until you've fitted this one.
