Rocher, Pastry Chef deep bowl Spoon , Baking, One handed Quenelle spoon

I initially gave it 1 star because it just didn’t arrive. Pretty much £26 and a month and a half later it finally arrived today. After all that money and suspense I was kinda disappointed that it literally is just a spoon. BUT 1) it is very shiny 2) I have never come across a more robust cooking utensil. Like I don’t think it’d flex if you tried to scoop rock hard ice cream. I’m an engineer and I can’t figure out if this was cast a single piece or punched or .... a lot of work went into manufacturing it. 3) I managed to make a semi decent Rocher/ quenelle on my first try. I’ve been trying for months with arbitrary deep bowl spoons from antique stores and this is the first success! I was going to knock a star off because who posts something to Africa without a tracking number (seriously just use Aramex. It once took 6 months for a postcard to get from UK to Cape Town). But I’m so stoked by my frozen creation that they can have their star back! (Pic is my first attempt)

Probably a little pricey but invaluable for a chef who actually wants to rocher. I tried using rocher spoons from the rocher spoon company but found the tip of the handle quite uncomfortable. This on the other hand is comfy and gives a perfect shape.

Too expensive for a spoon. However it does rocher very well.

Love this rocher spoon. It’s a bit expensive but a nice weight. Produces nice quenelles with a bit of practice.

On the expensive side but helped me master quenelles every time.
