Informative
This is an interesting book covering the set up fine tuning and use of the Japanese hand plane. I learnt a lot from this book, recommended if you are into or using Japanese hand planes.

Excellent book and easy reading.

Worth reading, slowly and carefully.
An excellent book that I liked because it gave me some understanding of Japanese planes. After reading the book, I bought a small Japanese wooden plane and with only a bit of fiddling to set the blade I was able to get excellent results that matched my metal plane of similar size that also had a sharp blade. The only adverse comment is that page 143, labeled "Index" is utterly blank except for the title.

Sehr informativ
Im gut verständlichem Englisch werden hier alle wichtigen Dinge zu japanischen Holzhobeln erklärt. Wer noch zusätzlich etwas über Hobel aus Metall oder Holzhobeln anette Länder (China oder Europa) erfahren will, sollte zum "Woodworker's Guide to Handplanes" vom gleichen Autor greifen. Alle Infos zu japanischen Holzhobeln sind auch dort vollständig enthalten
