Deluxe Lightweight Telescopic Apple & Fruit Picker

Brilliant. Improved my harvest of Pippins, get them apples from over three meters up in the tree.

Have used this only a couple of times but works well enough. Depending on the size of the apples (or other fruit) being picked you can easily get 4 average sized cookers in the net part. It might be time consuming to empty a heavily laden branch this way but much cheaper, and potentially safer, than having a very large pair of steps placed precariously under outlying branches where it is not possible to place a standard ladder. Well wort the price.

the Selections Deluxe Lightweight Telescopic Apple & Fruit Picker arrived and comes in 2 pieces - the red head with the bag on it, and then the telescopic pole itself (you screw the head to the pole, its easy, no tools needed). To be honest, I wasn't expecting too much from this at the price, but its really quite sturdy enough for apple picking and has a good amount of reach (easily 8 feet), without me even having to get up on steps, though I will have to for the ones at the very top. You hover the bag picker bit under the apple you want, and keeping the bag level (ish) you raise the bag just enough so that the fork part of the head (the red bits) can pull at the stalk and your apple drops to the bag. The only downside, is that if the apples are in a bunch of 3 and are quite chunky in size, you sometimes end up having one of them drop to the ground and of course, will bruise. The only way to get round this is hand picking, and I haven't the time or a ladder long enough for the top of the tree. So that's the compromise, some falls. Otherwise, overall, Im very pleased with this, its even allowing me to place the rod over the neighbours fence and pick the overhanging apples (my neighbours don't want them) without having to ask If I can go round with my ladder for picking, as I have had to in previous years. If/when the bag does fail with use, it will be easy to cut another one out of material and sew it on to the head. You could almost certainly use it to retrieve tennis balls and other small things, from somewhere like a garage roof too, should need arise!

I am over the moon with this. I’m glad I bought this cheaper alternative which was less than half the price of a very similar one from a horticultural store. The bag end comes separate and screws on. As with other reviews of similar pickers, the stitching is not great but it’s not coming apart. I wonder if it’s the way it is so it can be unpicked easily for washing purposes. The pole is in one piece and just extends. It’s very sturdy not like, I imagine the ones which are made up of short pieces that fit together. That’s why I went for this one. It’s as sturdy as a broom handle. By the time I’d ordered it and could get outside when it wasn’t raining, I’d lost a lot of my cherries but I still managed a bowl full. I’ll be out before the birds next year. It was so easy to use. I was worried my cherries would not fall in the bag but they did. I’ll be using it for my plums next if I can’t reach them. Overall I am very pleased with my cherry picker. Thank you.

I used it at the allotment to get the apples down. Works a treat. My 4 year old can use it too.

Good bit of kit, works well, saves struggling on steps

We have a large apple tree in the garden and my wife wanted one of these to harvest the apples before they fell off to use them in cooking. The device is simple and it works but is difficult to use around clumps of apples, awkward at times to get the apple in the correct position relative to the bag and cutters to pull it off and some of the larger apples would not fit between the metal cutter blades to fit the apple in the bag. The length of the pole is limited, probably for practical handling reasons but our tree is tall and we cannot reach the ones higher up the tree with it. In the last year the tree has started to overhang the greenhouse and it has successfully removed the overhanging apples before they fell through the greenhouse glass panels. (next job is to trim these branches back). After a bit of use the cloth bag did become detached from the metal frame but my wife was able to sew it back easily.

Ultimamente raccogliere le mele più in alto era diventato pericoloso. L'albero dispettoso spingeva i suoi frutti sempre più su. Il nonno in equilibrio sulla scala non aveva paura di cadere, ma a guardarlo da sotto veniva la pelle d'oca. Poi, per fortuna, è arrivato il coglifrutta. Io neanche sapevo che un simile attrezzo esistesse. Sapete chi lo ha ordinato usando il mio account? Proprio lui!

Super Apfelpflücker,liegt prima in der Hand. Würde wieder kaufen.

Teleskopfunktion sehr gut, Sack stabil, Metall etwas weich, verbiegt sich im Geäst zu leicht.

Attrezzo geniale molto pratico si raccoglie benissimo la frutta senza rischiare di salire . Se posso trovare un piccolo difetto è lunghezza se fosse stato aggiunto un metro in più sarebbe stato sensazionale . Ma và benissimo anche così , ottimo il rapporto tra qualità e prezzo.
