This was a fantastic project to complete with my six year old son. He certainly needed a huge amount of adult support but it was so much fun to do together. Making the gear box was the most complicated but once that is built and the solar panel connected then it is very simple to build each of the four robot designs around the same gear box and solar panel each time. We took a long time finding the correct light to make it work. In the end a bedside table light held against the solar panel made it work perfectly, as we wanted to make it work inside rather than outside, being Winter. So far we have made the drill and the T Rex and will next make the next two robot builds (which are very simple now we can reuse the gear box and solar panel). Fantastic project.

Cheap, airfix style build, fairly robust parts as plastic. No switch or battery so always on and will keep moving if the solar panel worked which it does not. I had to hold almost against my spotlight bulb which is bright. Instructions are detailed as to which part to use, but not clear where they go all of the time. It states not for under 3, I'd say under 10 due to poor instructions.

It's all plastic with a few metal pieces and it needs an adult to help as it is quite hard for children to do by themselves it provides many hours of endless entertainment for me as I'm still trying to find out how it works because the instructions aren't as clear as you would think

Doesn't work so well in UK but in France works great. Not enough rays. However, it was December when it was unwrapped and built, it's very small but my son (8 year old) loved building it with his dad. He's only built the robot part, he's never changed it to any other. It's kept him busy for hours.

Don't make my mistake, this thing never works the solar will never work, I don't know how they sell on amazon 🤔🤔.

This is an interesting toy which provides an appreciation of solar energy to kids. Although it may be difficult to assemble for kids below 10, it could be interesting with active help from parents. As a tip, you may wish to ensure that the motor is fully inserted into the socket and gear wheels fully aligned before closing the gear box assembly.

First thing to mention is its really small. Lots of tiny parts, and despite the excellent assembly instructions I think the age suitability of 8 is way too low. Important to note this has no solar power storage. It does not switch on and off and you have to use it outside in direct sunlight to get it to move. I assembled this 2 days ago and still have not seen it move. Very disappointed with the product. Bought it for my grandson for Christmas but had to buy him an alternative present.
