Case Logic Sporty Backpack 14"

Q: What are the measurements of this bag? I can't find them anywhere. I want a small bag. Can somebody tell me and is it waterproof?

This bag, when empty is 45cm long, 34cm wide and 5cm deep... when squashed flat. In old money 18 inches by 13 by 2. But it is brilliant. The most kit I have put in it is a FULL sized lap top. An 8inch tablet. A digital video camera. Two mobiles and all the leads to power and copy. Half a dozen dvds and cases and still managed to stuff in my sandwiches. It will most certainly be showerproof but I doubt if it would be totally water proof.. but then again why would it need to be. If you wanted to carry it in heavy rain or such like you can buy a waterproof cover from any walking shop.. or amazon. If you intend to carry it with both straps over your shoulder you will need to buy a strap to pull the shoulder straps together or they tend to slid back.. a couple of quid. But in conclusion if you want a rucksack to carry your laptop etc you will need to go a long way to get something as good as this for the price

Q: Does this packback looks smart, would it go with a shirt/blazer/possibly suit without looking like a school kid? Thanks in advance for your answers

It definitely doesn't look sporty so should be fine against formal wear. I work in IT and use it in and out of work each day. Its nice and slim too so does not stick out like a school bag would.

That's a difficult question, maybe for a primary, but I'd say probably not for a secondary school. My son (Year 7) uses it as a school bag for a couple days a week when he does not need a lot of stuff. For the rest of week especially if gown is needed for science lessons he uses bigger bag. But it looks really nice:-)

Q: When you plonk the bag on the floor, is there much cushioning for the bottom of the laptop?

There is some cushioning there definitely more towards the backside of the bag (will still recommend being careful dropping the bag when the Laptop is inside). Although still would recommend keeping the laptop inside a case before placing it in a bag just to be on the safe side.
