Great as long as its internal fuse holds out.
This was a replacement for a triblade mixer bought six years ago. The old one was a 700watt and worked well until, when blending some soup, it went 'Dink' and stopped. Turns out there is a fuse soldered to the circuit board inside the motor head that mere mortals cannot get at, let alone purchase a 2p replacement. Choking back unkind words about planned obsolescence, pollution, elfin safety, daft design, even dafter fuse rating I bought this. Now rated at 800w (let's hope the internal fuse reflects this) it came complete with a masher, mug and triblade wand and was a couple of pence cheaper than the old one. The masher is rather good. Think power ricer. The blade pushed soft stuff up through holes in the shroud. So that this happens at a less frenetic and more powerful pace there is a neat gearbox on the motor end to slow things down. Very good. All the attachments from the old triblade fit too and the motor sounds a little quieter. Recommended in anticipation of it not going 'Dink'. Great delivery and Amazon service.UPDATE 14th Oct 2018,Power ricer attachment impressive. 13amp UK Plug unimpressive. Mr Kenwood, 13amp mains power plugs have been made since 1947 and most manufacturers have made a good stab at getting them user friendly. The one moulded onto the end of your hand blender is awful. A real retrograde step. The finger grips are finger slips. I have fit hands but they slip off it annoyingly when trying to remove the plug from the socket. I shall fit a grippier plug such as those plugs with loop handles on top.

Excellent quality
This blender replaced an ancient handheld blender that finally gave up the ghost about 2 months ago. The Kenwood blender is very sturdy and powerful and so versatile. During the last few weeks, I have used it for blending soups, marinades, making potato mash and sauces. The blender works effortlessly thought various textures and makes perfectly blended concoctions. There is a normal speed and power button that definitely differ in speed and the head is large enough to make blending a quick affair. The plastic cup that comes with the set is perfect for blending ingredients for marinates and sauces, even when dry as the blades are powerful enough to work their way through them. The parts are ease to assemble and take apart and super quick to clean under the tap or in a dishwasher.

Good masher, splashy blender
Love the masher on this - it really is a charm to use. And strangely satisfying watching noodles of mashed potato forced out of the top of the blending grill. Easy to clean too, as the plastic blade pops off separately. Alas, this is much less fun on the tri-blade chopping device - I bought this model as it specifically claims to have been designed with anti-splash in mind, it is specially shaped etc - I've owned many cheap stick blenders. This is the most expensive I've had, and I do not expect to be spattered in the face, hands, and all over my tiles whilst blending a smoothie. The supplied plastic jug is lovely, but despite only filling this a quarter full, I have to hold my hand firmly over the top of the jug as liquids literally spit through the grill design.

No unuseful accessories
We bought this set because instead of having the ususal accessories like the omelette whip (completely pointless) and blender (which we have separate) has the mashing tool. The main triblade fitting makes good work of everything you throw at it in a couple of few second burst. The masher works a charm and makes fluffy potato mash in seconds. The jar is way better than the one provided with my previous Braun. It has anti-slip silicone at the bottom, a handle and a lid. The general construction is excellent with a very soft cord.

Brilliant!
This is my third one of these (the first I had for many years until it became a bit worn, the second I melted the cord on the stove after a couple of months (!), and now this one).It really is a fantastic stick blender, making silky smooth soups and hummus etc, and the potato ricer/masher makes wonderful, fluffy mashed potatoes and is so quick and easy to use.Highly recommended!

Fantastic gadget a must have item in your kitchen
Fantastic gadget a must have item in your kitchen, I stopped making mashed potatoes due to having shoulder and neck problems but the potato / vegetable masher is a godsend , the first time that I used it was a bit of a disaster as I added the milk and gallons of butter spread that would have been added when I was using a hand masher which made it slushy, now I mash the potatoes and then add a fraction of milk and butter spread which produces perfect restaurant potatoes and has saved me lots of calories . Now onto the blender gadget it is superb for blending soups which I make in the slow cooker then remove half the contents if you want the chunky finish , blend it and then add the chunky bits back in hey presto perfect soup and the chef gets master chef status .

Meets my needs and works well
I have only used the potato masher so far, but I have no reason to think the blender won't work as well, as it is the same process. I found it worked very well. I found cleaning the masher a bit of a pain because of the holes. It was OK, but it would have been nice to have a part to clean out potato stuck in the holes. I have a lot of kenwood attachments for my Chef and things always come with a suitable cleaning tool. I can probably use one of those, but it would have nice to have one specifically for it.

Terrific - a real asset to the kitchen
A really sturdy piece of equipment, and really fast. I have only ever had to use the slow speed. Does the job a treat! I use it every day, which means I am getting fatter on the beautiful custard it makes with no hassle, the soup, the cheese sauce, the gravy, the smoothies....... Mmmmmm. The rubber base on the jug (which I initially thought was going to be superfluous) is great too - stops it whizzing off up the counter. I wholeheartedly recommend it. Worth every penny.
