Bandai Hobby Star Wars Millennium Falcon 1/144 Scale Model Kit

I ordered a second model. Being new to model building I built it rather haphazardly. and did not take the care that it deserves. I painted it in a manner that I felt was good. But I used wrong painting materials. So now, with my second one, I'll take my time and do a better job. The delivery was meant to be 24th August, a month after ordering. But I was very surprised to receive it on the 3rd!!Attached a a few images I used from my first model. I taken it apart again to see if I could because I will need to paint it eventually. It doesn't take long! The numbers on the instructions are slightly bigger than on the R2-D2 instructions, so was easier for me. The high level of detail is sublime. It's tough plastic throughout. But some of the parts are exceptionally small. I would not recommend this as a toy. I bought it as a photo project to have in the background for my model friends to be in the fore. But it's so good I will be using it as a stand alone project.I bought a model by a different make which is so poor I didn't bother to finish it. BanDai have been consistently terrific. If you're wanting a Millennium Falcon of a high standard and to take up the smallest shelf space, this is for you.I would, however, like to know where I can buy the lighting kit... Not essential by any means, but would be cool.

These Ban Dai models have amazing detail and go together so easily that even a novice can create a quality finished product. All parts have a great fit without any glue needed. This one does need painting to make look authentic but that's where the more experienced or conscientious modeller will get the most satisfaction. Assembly could be done in a couple of hours but if you want it to look realistic, could take a lot longer. I am still in painting phase and also obtained a lighting kit that adds to the challenge but having seen how good the finished and painted one can look, have taken my time with the painting.

This is a ace model kit that can be popped together without glue if you wish apart from the figures and circular grills at the back. You have a choice of having lighting which is separate from the kit and also you can build it either flying or with the landing gear down. It comes unpainted but on Bandai's website there's tips on painting your model. It comes with a stand with a sand effect at the Base also with options for either in flight or landing. The kit is extremely detailed and fits perfectly together and there's a choice of decals to finish off your model. I would certainly recommend this kit for any Star Wars fan but for a child building this kit they would definitely need a hand constructing it because of small parts.

Amazing - no other words to describe the level of mind-numbing detail provided in this kit (apart from indispensable, stunning and possibly life changing....well, almost)!!There's plenty of OOB reviews on YouTube so I'll attempt to cover other details - The finished kit will measure just under 30cm when completed (slightly smaller than the new Revell level 1 lights and sound snap kit which is also a must purchase for the price) and contains some incredible detail - none more so than the figures (seated and standing sets provided). These have to be seen to be believed (Moebius 1/350 Seaview sculptor take note!). The painted examples on the box art must have been full size ones reduced for the box / instructions, they're that good. Kit comes with an amazing set of decals (covering all the coloured patches seen on the actual miniature), engine detail and clear blue engine strip (provisions made for customer lighting).A kit too good to make? - buy two - make one and have the kit parts from the other one lovingly framed.After waxing lyrical about Bandai's Space Battleship Yamato offerings I can definitely say that I'm in love - again!

What a beautiful kit. Even while it's a collection of pieces on the sprue, it looks exquisite. When finished, it should be about 28-30cm in length, so a bit larger than Revel's level 1 snap fix Falcon with light and sound, and very much more detailed. The collection of Force Awakens figures are well moulded with sitting and standing versions of Rey, Finn, Han and Chewie, and a teenie BB-8. Although no glue is required, the kit is unpainted, but that's a selling point for me. At 1/144 scale, this should sit nicely, if incongruously, in my N-gauge railway layout!

Wow, what a kit , small it might be at 1:144th (it's about 24 cm long) but the fine detailed parts are amazingly detailed, I'm not sure how many parts their are , but I was amazed at the amount, goes together like a dream Snap- fit at it's best. I believe their will be a lighting unit available soon from Bandai.

This was the first 'Snap fit' model i've done, and there is far less mess and less equipment needed to put together compared to airfix/ glue models.Having some basics like snips and some tweezers would help with the very small parts, as some bits are very fragile. No paint or glue is needed, but I used a cheap, 3 colour dry weather pallette from bandai, which helped to create panels, and give it that dirt effect. I may have gone a bit excessive on the panel lines, but considering it was black powder and water applied with a cotton swap, it worked pretty well.Its a shame the stand isnt up to the same quality as the model, but its not enough to remove a star.(Not product related) - Shipping time is crazy from Japan, but its a nice surprise when it turns up and you forgot you ordered it.

Spettacolare. Dettagli inimmaginabili. Posso solo immaginare la bellezza del modellino scala 1:72, anche se questo fa la sua bella figura. Ho utilizzato anche l’aerografo per migliorare il risultato. I tempi di consegna sono stati un po’ lunghi, ma accettabili considerando che viene spedito dalla Cina.

This thing is awesome... the detail is incredible; I can only imagine what the 1/72 will be like. Couple small gripes: for all the crazy detail you'd think they would've molded the battle damage. Also, the decals/stickers have no weathering, so you pretty much have to paint the sections. No big deal - still 5 stars. Thought I would scoff at the snap-together-ness off it (not a real model), but it's so well done that I would recommend it to any modeller.

Les maquettes sont excellentes, très bien pensées et pas trop difficile à assembler, bien qu'un peu plus compliqué que d'autres maquettes de la même gamme. La qualité est au rendez-vous, comme avec tous les kits Bandai. La finition est précise et le résultat final est top!Dommage que ce ne soit pas la même échelle que les autres vaisseaux de la série, j'aurai préféré en 1/72.

パーツの数はそれほど多くはなく、組立はそれほど大変ではありません。ただ、シールの数が多くそこは大変でした。パーツのクオリティーの高さを感じます。さすがバンダイです。

Nada que ver este nivel de detalle con lo que había en los 80" y los 90", muy superior el trabajo. Tamaño medio, no es tan grande como los modelos de amt o finemolds. Ojala sacaran el halcón de los episodios IV, V o VI en esta calidad!! Se le puede añadir un kit de fibra óptica de bandai. Muy buena.
